I find that many reviewers just solo their souls out instead of viewing the solo AND the rhythm aspects of a guitar. I don't know, I just like to hear a rhythm sound in a review since every guitarist uses rhythm, because without it you don't have a song.

I love these guitars. I have the Peavey USA ones [an EVH, and two EVH Specials] through a 5150 combo or through a MK III Mesa. they are just all around great guitars. Even the body shape (@ Shaun) Les Paul inspired horn, ES top cutaway and the back part of the body pays homage to a strat the way it falls away slightly. very resonant also, definitely feel this guitar when you are playing it.

@pmanderson yeah mahogany is good for ACDC and bluesy BB king stuff , but not for Van Halen, you will never get the VH sound with a mahogany body, it gotto be either alder or ash, I think he had a ash body in his Kramer, the same goes for Jimi Hendrix stuff, body wood makes a huge difference

@stevezane Not even close. My woflgang standard (the highest model, minus the custom shop models, which cost 2-2500$) cost me 1400 new. The evh wolfgangs cost around a thousand dollars more. Ill take my axis and peavey over this overpiced thing any day. The only difference are some slight cosmetic changes, and stainless frets (which I would love to have, but not worth the extra coin)

It looks like a direct cop of the guitar designed by Jim DeCola at Peavey almost 20 years ago.

Such as the wood selection, the pickups, a heavier block in the Floyd rose, better quality electronics, stainless steel frets and it is better build all around. Eddie wanted the guitar to out last him. The guitar is probably one of the best built instruments you will ever see, hear, or play.

You could change out the frets, electronics and Floyd on a Peavey Wolfgang and have the same guitar.

The ORIGINAL Wolfgang design is still something designed by Jim DeCola. Taking credit for a "new" design would be like the current group of fashionistas at Fender saying they designed the Strat.
