  • Where is that view from? Is that the Nasa Causeway or Northern Merritt Island???

    thanks

  • thanks to your video and others like it Imust go see a launch

  • Sound travels at 1125 ft/sec. It took almost 1 minute for the sound to reach this camera. They are ~11.7 miles away. It is often stated that due to the laws of Physics the maximum sound pressure is 194 dBSPL. That cannot be

exceeded because the average air pressure of 101325 Pa. That's about how loud the shuttle is at takeoff. Kinda cool, huh?

  • At 2:47 I could see someone taking that clip and making a UFO video out of it, in fact I think that looks very familiar!

  • Awesome Kat!

(That looks like the smoke trail that was belching from the MR2 before we had to junk it :) )

Great stills at the end! You're just about ready for that Beach Shot :)

  • Nice to find a shooter that appreciates a tripod and knows how to use iris control. I liked the definition in the flame. I don't recognize the camera from the still. What did you use to shoot this?

  • It's an XL1 according to the missing cameraman.

  • I have an XL1s. That's a good camera. It has more iris range (f16) than the XHA1 I used (f9.5). The ND may not be necessary on the XL1 when combined with -3db gain. The -3db will also help reduce noise in low light. As you know, you have to adapt on these launches as it happen cuz there ain't no test shots!

  • Awesome! Never seen one from the CNS before...from the timing of the sound waves, you must have been about 11.5-12 miles away but it LOOKS closer since it's such a good video. Love the close-up about 1:40, shows the SPEED : )

  • that was awesome!!! check out my footage i took all the way from daytona.

  • Awesome vid, Kat! You rock !!

  • I was camping here yesterday on orange island. Great place, then I drove to KSC to watch the launch. Best I've ever seen. Great video!

  • Right on! Thanks, it was fun to shoot, looking forward to the next one.

  • the best in my list ,I love it.thanks ... Ellie

  • Right on!

    : )
