i did the same experement but mine involved to punishe people with arows in the nee...seriously this test was shocking it shows us that life has become meaningles for us what difers us from mindles bees or ha zombies in the movies i really hate the words of old people that say THIS GENERATION HAS BECOME TO SOFT to afraid of our own will and desicions we let others to chose who we see stronger free will is an ilusion some people who fought for that ilusion at least had somthing of it
We must all bear in mind that the only people who successfully refused this experiment were the ones who could give legitimate ethical reasons for not wanting to do it, such as reasons for a person having a right to life.
@Kakarot21591 I have never heard that this is the case. I've heard of one who refused the experiment on the basis that he was an electrical engineer and had a good perception of how high the voltages really were, which kinda contradicts your statement.
Ok, so, after having watched the French tv document on a new version of the Milgram experiment done in France (France Television - the idea was translated into a TV game that people should take part into), I will once again confirm that, at the moment I'd knew I have to punish the other person, I would have said NO!
This is indeed a disturbing experiment, but confirms what I think about humans...
This is THE most DISTURBING video I've ever seen. Really scary insight into human nature. Can't believe anyone would actually participate in that, let alone CONDUCT the experiment! That's FREAKY!
This is a major reason why I am so confused that the world clings to such an outdated and dangerous entity as "government"? It's not just that you can't trust such power to people but you can't trust the people they have power over either. Lord Acton said it so well and soooo long ago - Power corrupts. We don't need a society where anyone has "power".
@bigglyguy How would a society like that act? Our whole lives we've had someone telling us what to do. No one would no what to do without government or authority
@Ph0be That's a good question and I know @ 1st it sounds impossible. Sadly I can't do my position justice in a YT comment but I offer a couple of examples - the free market always provides more choice of superior services at lower cost, so why not legal arbitration etc? We know monopolies are bad and government IS one and supports others. In Europe they find removing road signs and traffic lights creates LESS congestion and fewer accidents. I could go on but no space here. I'll PM you later :)
Hi, do you have some more detailed informations about this video? origin, year, who made it, is it really THE original experiment shown or an imitation (because thera have been a lot).
Would interest me a lot and i think it's important to know when watching the video.

Fascinating experiment. Very disturbing, and an insight into human behaviour.

Go back and rewatch the video. The first 44 seconds are all devoted to that very information.

LOL I love how the experimenter just keeps repeating the same line over and over like a robot that wasn't listening to him.

Kinda shows why human being and even chimps are so sensitive to inequality.

They so commonly laugh, then get concerned, then trust the white outfit impersonating a dr.
That's what is scary.
letswakethesun 1 month ago
@letswakethesun laughter is a common nervous reflex, doesn't necessarily mean that the person finds the situation humorous.
