coming back and watching this/reading the comments is an interesting task. Polidoc caught me to film this with no notice or preparation - ergo the rough look. and the wind and light were no help.
and for the record, the dreadlocks were a help, not a hindrance, in campaigning.
I'm sure Kat Swift is awesome but I too would like a more professional looking politician representing the Greens. Appearence shouldn't matter but it does.
Any person who votes based upon appearance of a candidate rather than that candidate's voting record and sacrifice should not be allowed to vote, not be allowed medical treatment or food or water, and have their property taken from them by force, because those things are trivial to them.
Such voters do not act responsibly.
I make no distinction between soldiers dying in battle vs third-party politicians with little money. Either both their sacrifice benefits us, or neither does.
I'm not a registered Green, but I'm considering it. I think most Americans believe that a candidate's appearance is not very relevant. If the Greens take your advice and focus on appearances then they will never gain additional support.
Unfortunately, in the world of politics, looks do matter. How are people supposed to take a candidate seriously when that candidate is going around looking completely unprofessional?
You may not prejudge by first glance, but many people will. Which is why the greens need to adjust to the climate of the game their trying to play. Just like in a job interview, Im not gonna go in with my hair alll over the place with my tie die t shirt. I tie my hair back, and wear dress cloths with a tie.
We need to torture anyone who whines about high prices and high taxes and then has the nerve to insult or complain about the very few heroes, such as Greens, Socialists, Nader's Raiders, who fight overwhelming power and money to reduce prices and taxes.
I am a Green Party member.
Morons who endlessly give power to Demopubs and then wonder why things don't change for the better need to be exterminated.
Einstein: Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
Bare in mind, that this video is one of the first video interviews that several of these candidates, including Kat has ever given. What will be more interesting and fairer is to watch her devolopment over the course of her campaign, and then into the future.
Good bid. I look forward to this film coming out. I don't know if I agree w/her being the VP candidate: I think she's still rather young, and hasn't yet run enough for state or federal office before this. I also think she'd be better in a hypothetical cabinet level position (how about secretary of the new DEPARTMENT of the environment or something?). We also have someone running for the VP slot. But maybe in 4 or 8 years. ;)
Man, the Green Party is crap in the USA. No wonder the country is fucked.

We are who we are it isn't about looks if we give into that then we might as well bow down. It is about standing strong for what we hold true.

Candidates will not be taken seriously if they have a head full of dreadlocks..
It's not right but it is reality.

Then again, if their goal is awareness of the party they will def. succeed...its far more likely to get the media intrested.

she doesn't sound very confidant and serious with her campaign in this interview.
