  • fuck polyrhythms :D

  • Tomas Haake is a damn good drummer

  • 0:16 bleed with one basspedal lol

  • One of the only guitar charts that makes me literally sweat from playing it.

  • =( they should have totally made it normal. difficult or not, it would have made people actually do the right pattern. this and laid to rest should be the regular foot pattern. although i know why they do it to make sure that people can still play it, but still. i find it harder to play when its not the actual beat that the musician made in the first place. you don't have to agree its just my opinion lol

  • What the hell? Why isn't it the proper double bass pattern. 'Expert' lol

  • @mastodonrock96 It is, it's for one bass pedal.

Which this is exactly what Haake does with his right foot.

  • @mastodonrock96 SINGLE KICK.. DERP.

  • @Decemation92 Oh right, duh

  • Why dont you buy a real drum set? JFC

  • Need more bass pedal notes. MOAR

  • Are there any toms in this song?

  • wierd...this bleed version's bass guitar is audible than the original one :|

  • this is probably not getting FCed on guitar cause this is a right handed picking dificult song, theres actually no bass in this, its actually the other guitarist. if i still had my rockband gear i could probably FC this, i learned it on guitar, and i used to be good at rockband, when i get the third game and the real guitar with it i think ill post this

  • Where's the ghost-notes on the snare?

  • @eliten0Ob He doesn't play them in the album, just when they do it live soo, why should they be in the chart? :P...

  • @Obliaxe Oh it's present on the album. It's just almost inaudible. Same deal with the Alive recording; almost inaudible, but they're there.

  • @eliten0Ob You mean the snare ghost notes right?, they're cleary in the Alive DVD, but I can't hear anything the album version :S.

  • i thought you could get double kicks for the RB drums?

  • i like how the blue ones come down and there is a steady stream of them, when in actuallity, hes only hitting the Chyna 2 of 4 times and not 4 of 4 times

  • @MommyBird10 No, he's playing 8th notes and accenting the quarter notes.

  • This is no where near the same double bass pattern tomas haake plays lol

  • @sLObZenOnMyNObzen They had to change it so humans could actually play it. XD He's a machine

  • I can play the real drum part..... but i have robot legs so

  • I remember requesting this song on rockband a couple times a day for a couple of months.

  • awesome song, shitty chart.

  • Digga dut duh Digga dut duh Digga dut duh Digga dut duh Digga dut duh Digga dut duh Digga dut duh Digga dut duh Digga dut dut dut duh duh dut.....

  • @KannonballKorpse lmao I lost the rhythm in that comment just like in this song

  • Wait, WHAT! You guys are telling me that the RB and GH charts for each song are incredibly flawed and don't go exactly with the notes played on the actual song! SOUND THE ALARM! WE MUST ALERT THE PRESSES! NEVER HAS ANYONE NOTICED THIS WITH ANY SONG!

  • @rex3453 its a network osng meaning someone else made this not harmonix, you can put music up and make the notes andd shit and sell

  • @rex3453 hehe i see what you did there...

  • @rex3453 Well its not charted right cause they dont expect you to do hertas (2 32nd notes and 2 16ths) on one foot

  • wtf

this is not even %3 of the actual song

    this is a joke

  • they doubletime the hats and rides, and it is not how it really goes. Watch them on the Alive DVD. Programmers, failed.

  • they doubletime the hats and rides, and it is not how it really goes. Watch them opn the Alive DVD. Programmers, failed.

  • @lifeseclipsemusic Live performance does not = studio performance. We had the actual drum stems for the track, it's right as it is.

  • @BrianSpud33 There are two kicks played in every burst of riffs, when I know that there are 3. I watch Tomas himself play this, the hats are wrong, the kicks are wrong. You even said to someone else that you didn't follow exactly because a crash would land on an off kick. But if that's what he does, that's what the song should have done. So you take out kicks, and put in too many hats. Make more Meshuggah songs, but pick easier ones.

  • @lifeseclipsemusic Yeah, we've been over this - in any Rock Band song, the kick part has to be playable with one pedal. Therefore, for the majority of the song, the authored part is what Tomas would be playing with his right foot. Also, there are NOT too many hats. We have the separated stem tracks for the song, and all the hats and cymbals are correct.

  • @lifeseclipsemusic If you look at the example set by other Rock Band charts (i.e. Harmonix authored tracks), double-bass is almost universally charted by the right foot. For example, during the guitar/organ solo in Panic Attack, kicks fall on every 4th note, when Portnoy is actually playing 8th note double-bass. The quickest counterpoint to that I can think of is WAHNTHAC, which has a double-bass track that's consistently inconsistent within itself.

  • This song almost didn't get put on the album because Thomas Hakke had trouble playing it. This makes me sad because it isn't really that hard...It needs those grueling double bass patterns.

  • thats not even how the drums go........

  • I know this had been said over and over, but if only this had 2 pedals... it would be almost impossible. You have to perfect the patterns and have stamina.

  • Hey Brian, maybe if RB would stop being gay and add a 2nd pedal then you wouldn't have to defend yourself. Awesome song, wish GH could've landed it...

  • I agree with BrianS (altho im no drummer, nor do I even own the game) but yea, the chart just doesnt do the song justice cuz of how limited you are.

BTW im finding it funny this kid ripped this song apart but seems to have no feel or rhythm for any of his created fills lol

  • lol that chart is so off not even close

  • @Kamae89 You do know the entire thing is charted only for the right foot, right?

Which, assuming the bass pattern is RLR - L, means that they were accurate enough to chart the R's and leave the L's out.

  • @Nettacki Correct. :-) The only place where the chart doesn't exaaactly follow the kick pattern is the section at 3:26. This is because there are a number of crashes that would have landed on the left foot (the last of the three 16th note kicks in a row that happen throughout that section), and having a crash there with an obvious uncharted kick played awkwardly.

  • It's hilarity how they turned possibly one of the most technically ridiculously songs and made it easy. Disgraces the Meshuggah name.

  • is blue like cymbal, red snare, yellow hihat, and blue tomtom?

  • this is completely wrong, and I'm not even a drummer to know that...

  • i guess it'd be damn near impossible to do syncopated triplet rolls with a single pedal so this charting is actually not bad considering the restrictions

  • I they charted this the way it should be it wouldn't be fun at all and no one would even play it....not like the average rock band player has a double bass and wants to do that for over 7 minutes

  • Duuuude the chart sucks Haakes balls!

Get some double pedal capabilities on the game ffs xD

  • wow people should spend their time watching somebody actually play this on drums..

    like my video

  • I dont like this chart!! there suppose to be a triplet with a 16 not this crrap

  • overly simple chart, anyone with a basic understanding of heel toe can play this. (no, I'm not just blowing smoke, I'm actually a drummer)

  • It's so ridiculous clearly hearing a LOUD bass triplet and a 16th note... and watching the drum charted so inaccurately. Can anyone else hear that rapid-fire thumping? I can. I wonder if this was charted on purpose. is there a double bass version?

  • @eviltube1111 actually this is pretty decent charting for 1 pedal. The reason why there isn't any double bass in this song is RBN authors aren't allowed to have very much double bass, otherwise it won't pass peer review. but yes, you are right that this chart does NOT do this song justice, and there is a double bass chart, just type "bleed expert plus drums"

  • I was thinking "This shit will be in the top 3 hardest drum songs", then I saw the chart and lol'd

  • YOUR A MONSTER

  • best song ever on a game

  • Fuck what you guys are saying, this shit is still hard.

  • sadly enough...this IS undercharted.

  • i never seen u with drums

  • This song bends me over and rapes me, I barely 5 starred it on guitar, still a great song though. The drums made me sweat like a bitch lol..

  • Ah, great song. It's definitely easier than it would be if the double bass was charted, but it's still hard to keep up the rhythm because the bass is still a different time than the top drums. There's a trick to beating the song. Focus on hitting the blue and bass and treat the snare hit as something that randomly pops up instead of being a different time signature. Worked for me.

Great job on the Gold Stars, heel-toe technique for the win :D

  • @Trynant you use heel toe on this game! thought i was the only one lol, i have mastered it on rb

  • undercharting makes me sad :(

they didnt include the ghost notes that Haake plays either...

  • @THEPANTSWEREDEAD I think they compensated for single play quite well. I'm fucking satisfied. The ghost notes would have been beast though. :(

  • u suks n00b.

  • Saw Meshuggah live yesterday! Some epic metal!

  • if this was truly charted this would be a mother f****r to pass lol

  • fuck meshuggah are mental

  • HERTAHERTAHERTAHERTAHERTAHERTAHERTAHERTAHERTAHERTAHERTAHERTA

  • Dude, I hope this has double bass on pro drums in RB3.

  • @Spartan409 pro drums doesnt have double bass

  • POLYRHYTHMS FTW

  • This song is just too hard if this was the complete chart. People would sue because the song would break their ankles in the first few seconds.

  • Totally Insane!!!!!

  • How does he keep up with the bass in this song?

  • If only Rock Band had an option for two pedals...

This song is horribly charted as it is here. This is one of the hardest drum rudiments and it's extremely hard to keep up with and not lose yourself in it.

This chart doesn't do this song justice. Too bad, but oh well... you still get to listen to this awesome song and have some kind of a feeling you get to play, while in a significantly inaccurate and incomplete way, the drums in this song.

Nice work here (Added this so it seems relevant :))

  • @Starchild234 haha yeah, im glad that i sent email after emails to meshuggah to have someone do this for them xD even though the drum tracking is horrid xD

  • @Starchild234 We charted one foot on the drums, sticking with the same foot throughout the song, exactly like Harmonix would have. We're not allowed to chart double pedal. What were we supposed to do exactly?

  • Comment removed

  • @SoundDefenseRB Being the author of this drum chart, I'd like to second this comment. In my opinion the way this is authored is pretty much the only accurate way to represent the actual part while keeping it playable on one pedal.

  • @BrianSpud33

    Agreed

  • @BrianSpud33 I don't know...I saw a proper drum chart here on Youtube that was one foot one pedal. That one looked better than the RBN chart. It's here:

    /watch?v=TgwutBoyNJs

  • @Nettacki Sorry, not a fan of how that one's charted at all. The two 32nd note kicks in a row on one pedal sucks, it's not at all how a drummer would actually play it, and to me it ruins the feel of how the song should be. Plus, had we submitted it that way it never would've passed playtest and we would've been told to knock it down to as it is here.

Like I said before... barring some sort of Expert Plus option in Rock Band, the chart as it is here is as accurate as possible with one pedal.

  • @BrianSpud33 You sure? I wonder what the guy who made that video would say about that...

And isn't this song supposed to be brutally hard anyway?

  • @Nettacki Yes, but like I said... it still has to be reasonably playable on one pedal, and I'm pretty confident that had we authored it like in that video it would've been shot down in playtest for authoring double kicks when we're not supposed to.

  • @BrianSpud33 Ok then. I see what you mean. Thanks for the reply.

  • @BrianSpud33 exactly

  • @BrianSpud33 True - not many people can do hertas on a double bass pedal for 7 minutes on a real kit, let alone a single (or honestly, even 2) rock band pedal(s).

  • @Starchild234 It's just missing the left foot for bass. If you get a 2nd pedal and just play along with the 2nd pedal unplugged, it's still really fun (although you won't lose points for screwing up, which would undoubtedly happen, you're right the bass is incredibly hard to keep up with)

  • @Starchild234

If the option of double peddling were aviable, they'd have to redo the whole bass, and little kids who play this game would cry because after 4 minutes thier legs would bleed

  • @fage32 i think he means if the option were available and you don't have to have it

  • @fage32 hence, why its called "Bleed."

    hah.

  • @Starchild234 Couldn't have said it better

  • Yeah the sever of the bass padle is corenithic to its compatible counter parts, but its a great song with it hymnal cabbaging.

  • i find it almost impossible to play things on drums when its undercharted... listening to the actual song and seeing the chart puts me off

  • The bass drum pattern is wrong :(

  • Fun song, but holy undercharting, Batman. Not as bad as Dethklok in Guitar Hero, but still bad.

  • this song blows

  • @Alukart117 Thanks for your opinion that no one asked for.

  • @smilebig1337 Thanks for commenting on said comment and making it important.

  • @Alukart117 couldnt agree more :)

  • is it just me, or is that the vocalist for L.O.G?

  • @Selvey10 I think I might slap you.

  • @Selvey10 How could you possibly tell?? Its a dude screaming at the top of his lungs... it could be ANYONE. lmao

  • Tomas Haake FTW!

  • bad chart

  • Awesome job, I'd love to see Future Breed Machine get charted as well. Someone get to it!

  • ya each one of the 2 bass hits in the real songs its actually 4 youd die lol

  • they should of had the guys over activision do this song for Guitar hero, the chart would actually be retarded like it should be ie. charted close to right and hard to play

  • that polyrythm just fucked with my head

  • I guess it's fun if you're good at that kind of thing. To me that looks like foot destruction. Nice job anyway.

  • @Felldohswrath well to a drummer here its pretty easy. trying to play it on real drums with the full polyrythms your foot just about explodes. such a hard song

  • expert+ plox. could you even pass it, I wonder?

  • Waaaaaaaaayyyyyyy undercharted.

  • Wait...WULFE hasn't even 5-starred this on guitar?! Man, I don't stand a chance of passing it.

  • Must have taken Tom Haake weeks to learn that drum pattern...

  • @Wheelah23 Doubt it haha hes sick.

  • \,,/(^_^)\,,/

  • Comment removed

  • More Djent in Rock Band!

  • if this was expert+ you'd be fucked lol

  • @wuLFe79 holy crap dude. haha. btw, are you still playing the classical guitar at all? that one song you played was awesome.

  • @XxTMAR21xX Haha, so terribly wrong you, you can't even comprehend.

  • @dujl After visiting your channel you clearly are obsessed with this band which is why you need to expand your musical horizons my friend... you have to admit this type of singing takes absolutely ZERO talent. Yeah the drummer is awesome and the guitar is ok... but the music as a whole is fucking awful. I can handle bands that scream if they sing a little too but this is just awful.

  • Comment removed

  • @XxTMAR21xX Wrong. I dedicate my account on Youtube for promoting them, but that doesn't mean I am completely partial to them, you fool. I listen to most kinds of music, that I enjoy, so when I found this band I was really excited, because it was something completely unique. You may try to tell me that the vocals take no talent or whatever, but that's just bullshit. This is a special technique and is hard to get down, and the way it's used in this song is really excellent.

  • @XxTMAR21xX Your issue with the vocals gives you no right to call the music awful, because that just makes you a humongous idiot. You just don't get it. A lot of people do get it, but your head is far up your arse that you believe your petty opinion holds any value in this regard. No, you do not HAVE to HAVE clean vocals for music to work. That's where you are stuck in the box... "my friend", and it's just narrowminded and prejudiced, and with that mindset I can get why you don't like it.

  • @dujl wow calm down dude... i never said the people playing the instruments werent talented or that it wasnt unique... i just said the singing is awful and it makes me cringe when that singer opens his mouth... MILLIONS would agree i guarantee it especially they listened to this song.

  • @XxTMAR21xX

Millions also agree that the Jonas Brothers are the best pop group ever.

  • @themountie Are you trying to make a point here?? I could easily say that MILLIONS and MILLIONS of people that listen to Rock of any kind would HATE HATE HATE this screaming noise bullshit..

  • @XxTMAR21xX lolshutthefuckup

  • @Spartan409 Oh, I take it you listen to this absolutely horrific scream noise? Good for you buddy, now you shut the fuck up.

  • @XxTMAR21xX

    You are gay.

  • @applepie338 clearly the people that stick up for this music are highly intelligent.

  • @XxTMAR21xX

At least they're not gay like you.

  • @XxTMAR21xX Zero talent? Ok then why don't you record yourself doing it then moron.

  • @Oneofthefallen67 We aren't even talking about the game.. I'm talking about the singer.. so before you jump into a conversation get your shit straight buddy.

  • @XxTMAR21xX Dumbass I am talking about the vocals, I don't play video games. I'd like to see you try and compete with Jens, he would fucking destroy you.

  • @Oneofthefallen67 I'm pretty sure I could scream and yell just as horribly as he does... fuck off dude this conversation is done.

  • @XxTMAR21xX Then record yourself doing it. If you're so sure you could.

  • holy gallops batman!!!

  • "Some of the fills are pretty nasty, but other than that, nothing too hard if you have a decent heel-toe technique". And that is EXACLTY what I don't have...

  • @itzme10 Haa, it took me a long time to get heel-toe down. But, just keep practicing. Maybe, watch videos on it?

  • that looks quite difficult to keep a streak on

  • Much better than last video of this lol.

  • Just listen to those flutter kicks, this song would be 900 times harder if they actually charted the pedals like the drummer does it. Even insanely good drummers would have a beast of a time trying to learn that.

  • Presumably the "under charting" is the drummer's left foot. But I've never heard this band before so I could be wrong.

  • undercharted pedalls :D

  • i wanna see this with a double kick.

  • @129metal DarthDeth has charted this in expert plus

  • Guitar video! :D

  • looking forward to seing meshuggah on roskilde

  • this is way undercharted

  • @popemobile15 people like you still exist....? lol

  • @steerj07 you mean idiots lol

  • @popemobile15 Since it's meant to be played with 1 foot 1 pedal I can't really see how this song cannot be undercharted. The spirit of the whole song (aka legs hurting) is kept perfectly.

  • @popemobile15 If it's so undercharted, then it would be a breeze for you do right?

  • @ThePoison56 it actually is very undercharted, it's supposed to be 32nd note triplets with a broken sixteenth but these are just double strokes which completely limits the poly rhythmic experience. Still a great job to wulfe

  • @NBomb187 for a better description, the kicks follow the strumming exactly while the hands maintain the 4/4 beat

  • @NBomb187 yeah, i attempt to play this song on REAL drums, and the bass pedals arent fast, but are so hard to get down. Yes i agree this song is way undercharted

  • @zachf914 mhmmm, i'm still trying to learn it on real drums ><!

  • @NBomb187 loser

  • @wra7h why? because i play real drums?

  • @NBomb187 16th note triplets are called sixtuplets, learn 2 rhythm.
