  • Great job man, this video should have 12,000,000 views but bieber gets them all, what a crazy world

  • can i come live with you? i need to get outta america and get back to my roots on the farm. You seem to have some good ways of living. im tired of the same ol hustle and bustle of life. Looking for a change.

  • what does a load of that cost ya? mind me asking!

  • @dubstepnewbee23 This one was unusually high, cost me about $300 with freight

  • @groutaone 300?? Does one load really last all winter?

  • @d46512 For the most part yes, I'am still heating with the load from this video and got about 2 months worth left in the bin

  • can't find your "heat for cheap" part 1 vid...

  • Great stuff - I'm always happy to see people finding alternative ways to generating power/energy.

  • @henrooo Thanks for watching

  • Nice video. I wish I had a farm now its way too expensive to buy... ;-(

What kind of farming do you do ? Corn, wheat ?

  • @Dicofole I have some land that I rent out, I dont farm myself

  • your videos are always very interesting! This one remembers me of "Winter Birds" =)

    Keep doing videos =)

    Thanks

  • @ilsimo931 Thanks buddy, I really appreciate you watching

  • I was just interested in wether it would ferment or rot if not kept on air for a while.

  • @mroverman If its a dry load it will keep good for years

  • How much does it cost to get a truck load of that stuff?

  • @TheBlasterMan This load cost me $340 with the shipping

  • @groutaone thats for taking the time to make your videos, how long does the load last about eh? thx Groutaone

  • @terrifiedprojects No problem, I enjoy it. This load may last me the whole winter as it hasn't been too cold and this load has more heat than normal

  • what is the moisture content in percentage?

  • @mroverman Not sure on that, I'am sure it varys from load to load

  • Very good idea. There are so many heat sources "if" the person knows how to set up there heaters. The video you mentioned in the tags I think is one of the first ones I watched of yours....Keep em comming!

  • At least the yard did not get trashed to bad. Thumbs up.

  • @TheDieselStop Thanks for the rate, lawn grass is cheap, heat for the winter is not so its all good

  • that truck need better tyres .. :D show em some CR tyre action :D

  • why don't you just extend the driveway so the truck does not have to drive on your grass?

  • No telescope on that shaft or did I miss it?

  • @heliarche It slides about16 inches or so

  • @MrTomx123 Alot of folks don't realize how dangerous this stuff is.When I was in the Job Corps, the city kids would always bust my chops about my pants being too tight. However I could run out of the way or jump without pulling my pants up from my ass. Also heard about a guy that got his pants yanked off by a PTO.

  • Great video man! I never knew (or I guess realized) you could use hulls like that for heat!

  • DAMASCUS SYRIA–OLDEST CITY,NEVER BEEN DESTROYED(ISAIAH 17:1)ISRAEL DIVIDED(JOEL 4:1-4)JESUS SAID,HIS 2ND COMING,IF U SEE DMASCUS DSTROYED & SRAEL DVIDED.IF U THINK QUAKES R COMMON THN BELIEVE THESE 2 PROPHECIES,THESE R IN THE NEWS NOW.JOHN 12:25-26 ANYONE WHO LOVES THEIR LIFE WILL LOSE IT,WHLE ANYONE WHO HATES THEIR LIFE N THIS WORLD WILL KEEP IT FOR ETRNAL LIFE.26 WHOEVER SERVS ME MUST FOLLOW ME& WHRE I AM,MY SERVANT ALSO WILL BE.MY FATHER WILL HONOR THE ONE WHO SERVES ME.HELL IS REAL.REPENT!

  • you should of put a thin plank of wood on the grass, so the truck can go over the plank of wood and hopefully not damaging your grass :)

  • Nice man. Great alternative fuel source.

  • how many tons

pay by the ton or pound

  • you forgot to say that you heat your garage too

  • Can't wait to see the boiler room and how you have it all set up

  • @Nullakern66 go look at the video How I heat Me house for cheap in canada :)

  • @MrTomx123 So death may be close for others as he drives by

  • That's real cool! I wonder how efficient they burn

  • Interesting video. How much does that stuff cost you?

  • @paisteboy This load cost me $350 and may be good for the whole winter

  • @groutaone

That's a great deal if you can heat all winter for 350 bucks. I need to move and buy some land so I can do more stuff like that.

  • @MrTomx123 Lucky guy, death was close for him

  • cold what cold

  • they guy on the truck should try to keep it moving, the second time he backs it up he lets it stop again, and thats when you get stuck. Over here you have lots op people that get in to wet field with big events, and most of them just drive to close to the person in front of them when their leaving. And then they need to brake and stop again and thats when the all get stuck. If its moving you just have to keep it moving and you wil get there without a problem.

  • @gabbermaikel my brother learned that the hard way, or should I say I Did, he was driving through the feild and was in 4W drive High and was trying to go through a puddle and started slowing down and he thought he wasnt to far in and switched to 4W drive Low and ended up getting stuck so I hopped out and jumped in the 35-40F Ice/water Mix and pushed him out before our Father got home and ended up getting mad at him.

  • nice to see someone else using anything cheap to burn for heat lol... I burn anything in my woodstove... if it fits and lights its heat..

  • Sunflower hulls. Turkey/chicken farmers use it around here for bedding because sawdust shavings are hard to come by these days. I did'nt know you could use hulls for an outdoor boiler or pellet stove. Thats Awesome! I have a Farmking 851 auger. The only time it breaks is if i run heavy 60# or more test weight corn through it full thottle, the woodruff key shears off.

  • Neat video it sure is becoming that time of year again :)

  • How many tons does it take to fill the silo ?

  • @krazy45cat Thats a tough question, this load had a weight of about 19000 lbs however the next truck load of the same size may only weigh half that depending on how much seed it has, This truck load filled the bin 3/4 way, I wish I could put two loads in there but oh well.

  • we have seen what you doo to your wifes poor flower beds and mulch beds and the lawn..and now your worried about it?

  • @joehara123 Iol, I think my biggest fear here was getting it stuck and sunk here, that would be some mondo big holes and I would have to go find a big tractor to pull it out, wow what a mess that would be

  • @groutaone yeah i hear ya..but the money you save burning those seeds has got to be worth it...and it beats splitting a bunch of logs...i use 10 cords of wood each winter..no oil and just electric hot water...saves me big time

  • @joehara123 I estimate this system saves me about $3500 per winter to heat all the buildings, if I would heat the house only it would not be worth the investment as the house holds heat way better than a building with garage doors

  • @groutaone so do you just run those seeds in like a pellet stove type set up or what?

  • @joehara123 Yes, same idea

  • @MegaMarine111 Thanks man, will try to stay warm

  • did the truck have a crawling gear? i think that would help.

  • @pnskbk Yes I think that was it

  • Interesting and very beneficial to today!!!!

But it is a lot of time you warm up with this method?

  • @pinduline I think it takes about 1-1/2 hours from completly cold to get it up to operating temp, its also a bit of maintenance to keep it running for the winter

  • did you feel that tank right up to the top? if so how long does it last until you need to refill it?

and what is the actual name of this heat source?

  • @Daniel96sj The bin was about 3/4 full with this truck load, guess I'd call it a coal fired boiler as that was its original fuel

  • @UnitFmX11 I appreciate you watching, thanks for your very generous comment my friend.

  • why didn't you get some plywood to put down for the truck so he didn't get stuck or tear your yard all to pieces? could have saved your grass and kept from getting the humps in the yard like that . So one of those silo's full of seed hulls heats your house for the entire winter? if so that's awesome!

  • @daddytech Yes thats right, one bin full will heat my three buildings for a winter, bet just my shop alone would cost me $700 if I used hydro instead to heat for a cold month.

  • @groutaone yeah but was the boiler and such expensive to buy and put in ? it sounds like a winner of a deal to me and i am all about efficient and eco friendly options and this one is really neat but i never really asked anything about it before when you put up the videos of the actual furnace.

  • @daddytech Yes initial cost is up there, I got set up like this about 16 years ago and everything has gone up a lot in price since then, my set up has paid for itself long long ago

  • I wonder if you could load that into a wood pellet stove

  • @AdirondackNY Yes I think it would work, you would not get as much heat from it as from wood though

  • very very neat, one of the first videos of yours that i watched you were showing how you heat your house, ver ysmart and efficicent

  • thats awesome buddy :)

utility bills are getting out of hand .

when are you gonna start selling plans ???

  • @500passwords Thanks man, bet I would spend over $1000 in hydro on a cold windy month to heat those three buildings, now with this system I say bring on the winter. If you search a bit on utube and the internet you can find systems like this being made for resale.

  • Ha. Repurposing spitz. Right on.

  • You might as well go ahead and make a driveway up to the dropoff point so you dont have to worry about this is the future Groutaone!

  • @sweet1963bug Ya it wouldnt even be that much to add

  • I might be far off as I don't anything about it but could they be composted and then utilized in the spring if you have a surplus leftover.

  • @MrCoontastic I guess that would work, however I dont mind at all if I have leftovers in the bin as it can sit there till the next winter and then I use it for heat

  • very interesting as usual

  • Yup, us farmer guys do aready know how that stuff works!

  • That's an interesting way to heat your home.

  • I really am not looking forward to winter. But, got to make do. Like the idea on sunflower shells, great price!

  • @mrwiggles2 I think my shop would cost me about $700 in hydro if that was my heat source on a cold month, big drafty garage doors let so much heat out but with this system I dont mind the draft as theres lots more heat where that came from lol

  • Good deal Mate!! You do more damage to the lawn with the motorbike!!☺

  • @805ROADKING I thought someone would bring that up lol

  • awesome buddy!

  • @racer4560 Thanks man

  • You are certainly a numbers type of guy, have you ever figured out how long it is going to take to break even on the cost of the system(building, hopper, furnace, electric, etc)? I remember seeing a more detailed video on the system awhile ago but don't recall if you stated that in the video. Also do you have a backup source of heat?

  • @buckman840 This system pays for itself in about 6 years, I have electric baseboards for heat in the house if I need it for backup.

  • thats pretty cool

  • Very nice! I hope that was free, except maybe for the shipping. I think it's great that you are able to recycle in that manner. Many cheers!

  • @really2ugly Thanks buddy, my total cost was $340 and it may last for the whole winter, three buildings to heat including the shop with drafty doors.

  • @groutaone That is fantastic! I'm envious, as I live in an apartment where I have a gas and/or electric bill to pay. And no choice.

  • How is the seed being transferred from the delivery truck to your auger chute? Is is just gravity or do they also have some type of auger?

  • @epiphaknee Just gravity, pours out like water, the box also lifts up at one end to help it pour out.

  • Very interesting! Do the seeds ever freeze up in the bin or I suppose they are pretty dry to start with?

  • @cubbeezx They come dry enough so they dont freeze up, A bit of these got some rain through the top of the tarp on the truck box, should be ok though

  • hey awesome video. could yo show us the process on how your boiler room works? Im just a curious guy :)

  • @bustfer07 You bet, I already have some videos about that, look up "how I heat my house for cheap in Canada"

  • Little bit of grass damage for all that free heat..i could live with that.

  • @MyAussieDay You and I think alike

  • awesome use of someone else's waste. Never heard of using that before

  • @WhackTheWax I have some videos back in my channel a ways that gives a look at the boiler in action, its called "how I heat my house for cheap in Canada" if you are curious. Its a bit of work sometimes but saves a lot

  • You get it for free?

  • @HitmarkerPro Most of the time I get it for free, just pay the truck, this load I had to pay a bit for.

  • @Motorchevytoyota Thats my daily driver
