I remember I went to Grace Cathedral church in San Francisco to see Steve Lacy and Jackie McLean play; One of the best things ever. Then fortunate enough to have played with Lacy in Minnesota not long before he passed. I raced home to get my flute when I knew I was playing with him. He was a great cat and a pleasure to converse with. Same with bad-ass Jean-Jacques Avenel, my favorite bass player. What's he up to? Best Lacy album is The Window.
In June 2001. Soon I will upload more of that concert. I don't remember the name of the place, but I remember that the concert was in a protestant church. Andrea
