Efficient, yes. Scary as you-know-what, also yes! You'd never see me drive a car onto that thing. I mean.. watch the first car come down. The holder it's in -wobbles- and -swings- when it stops! And what happens to the first poor soul that goes to park their car on the moving platform, only to have the platform break loose and fall like what happens every once in a while with an elevator?

Move to Japan = no longer something I want to do!

@MonolithTyriss Actually elevators hardly ever fall. thats just an urban myth. There are so many safety precautions and features that a modern day elevator has it would have to have like 15 things fail for it to actually fall.

There is one similiar to this is Leeds centre in the UK, it takes your car up and is shuffled off into a stacked space. Its been there since the early 90's :)

Space is at a massive premium in the centre of the UK's major cities

You can only park if you have your own contracted space though ha!

Its just off Park Row, down at the bottom of Russel Street, if you go on google maps you can look at it on street level.

its not as fancy as this one but it has 3 doorways and is very tall to take the cars up....
