@Chagalf if the thing breaks, im sure they have car insurance coverage or w/e they have in japan... atleast, if they could afford this, they could afford to replace any dammaged cars lol...but idk now.. seeing as though the tsunami and volcano eruption killing off more than half their population.. their economy is going down the drain lol
Efficient, yes. Scary as you-know-what, also yes! You'd never see me drive a car onto that thing. I mean.. watch the first car come down. The holder it's in -wobbles- and -swings- when it stops! And what happens to the first poor soul that goes to park their car on the moving platform, only to have the platform break loose and fall like what happens every once in a while with an elevator?
@MonolithTyriss Actually elevators hardly ever fall. thats just an urban myth. There are so many safety precautions and features that a modern day elevator has it would have to have like 15 things fail for it to actually fall.

lol you dont' need to back up either!? that's some CRAZYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY sh*T!!! lol man.. the next thing you know they're gonna make cars that drive for you! I hope they keep manual around though... cause i think it's a good hobbie...
these things are awesome. i wish we had them in the states. but than again, people the US like driving oversized vehicles for no reason. where in japan everyone drives small cars to a maximum of a midsized suv. oh japan. how caring to the earth you are.
gees... all you cavemen making a friggin big deal about this... this sorts of stuff is all over the place here in korea. so they have it in japan too. what's the big deal?
It's "Japan" Japanse is were your refering to something of japan. "Japanese people, Japanese Food.. ect" Also its not "bast of the bast" its "best of the best" You people don't know grammar and can't spell.
@freedfighter96 ......wow. There are no real words to describe someone who bashes someone else for spelling and grammar while their own blurb is rife with errors. Congratulations!
(to help you out a little: Japanese not Japanse, where not were, referring not refering, etc. not ect, it's not its) I hope that helps in your quest to be a douchenozzle.
@freedfighter96 And you spelled "japan" wrong, it's "Japan." Second, you forgot the apostrophe in your "its." Third, you have missing periods and the word "were" is used out of proper context. Go back to school retard.
Indeed, the only humanoid robots with enough artificial intelligence to interact with humans WITH COOL AND NEAT DESIGNS, in the way we imagined in science fiction movies! are made by Japanese companies. Check ASIMO
There is one similiar to this is Leeds centre in the UK, it takes your car up and is shuffled off into a stacked space. Its been there since the early 90's :)
Space is at a massive premium in the centre of the UK's major cities
You can only park if you have your own contracted space though ha!
instead of being innovative here in america, we just drive around a 90 level parking garage at 80 mph trying to seek out the last spot, or the one closest to the elevator. we need something like this here in america for sure.
I didn't know it's only in Japan since it's so common around here. This type of parking tower is not so good in reality. So time consuming to get out and size limitation is so tight.
Is it possible to find an installer of such carousel in US?
