I seem to remember they did something similar in a Fred Astaire movie. I can't remember the exact movie, and it was no where near as complicated, but the concept was there. As well, it wasn't a fight scene, it was Astaire just dancing around the room
even if you didnt like the film you have to admit that the revolving corridor scene is very impressive especially since they could have just done it with cgi
@boomthatsjiggly I wondered this a while back and I looked it up. Some props are recycled and used in other movies, but the vast majority of sets and props are just thrown away.
@boomthatsjiggly@boomthatsjiggly Probably dump it somewhere in a studio and after many many years of being stored and forgotten there someone finds it in 2040 and says "Hey, isn't that from that movie they made like some time in the 2000's? What was it called again? I can't seem to recall, guess it wasn't that ground-breaking? Do you think we may be able to get it on holo-vid?"
Its amazing how they spend so much time, money, and effort for a scene that doesn't even last 5 minutes. That is true dedication, I wish there were more film makers like the Nolan brothers
Actually, it lost to a fucking movie about a stuttering king, but yeah, as much as I enjoy The King's Speech (which I do), Inception is much more amazing.
Remember the good old days when special effects weren't spammed like in the old Indiana Jones or Star Wars? You actually felt like it was true and not just CGI.
@chamunda9979 He does need more respect then he gets. It is clearly is more difficult then it looks and his facial expressions on the film made it really seem as if he was a "Good Mind Thief". As if he does these "Gravity Shifts" thing in dreams on a daily basis. He's a better actor then credited
Glad to finally see someone putting their heart into making a cool scene instead of selling out to CGI because it's easier and cheaper than doing something like this. I have a lot of respect for Christopher Nolan now, knowing how much hard work and energy went into making this scene.
the diffrence between gordon levitt and the black guy is that gordon levitt is not trained to do that shit the black guy is probably a stunt man so that comes with the job
@agent254422 I wouldn't say so think about all the cgi parts that stuff truly is expensive. and then there was all the other huge sets they had to work with like the train and stuff.
@agent254422 You know when the building in the antarctic or whatever blew up... That was a real explosion. they actually built a full scale building and blew it up, but it didn't blow up right so they did it twice.. THAT'S where most of the budget went into.
@donovanwilder There's a video of it in the special features it shows people working on it, it's either that was a full scale building or they have miniature people working on it. Besides this is Christopher nolan We're talking about, he wouldn't be satisfied with half assing it with miniatures.
@miklitov23 yes i know i have seen it. i was telling the guy about the snow lever collapsing and he was saying that they blew it up twice and thats why the budget was so high and i told him it was a miniature.
