are these birds hard to keep? Im from the south east of Australia so its rather cool here in winter thought would these birds survive if kept indoors?
I had a blind gouldian (born without eyes) and what amazed me was that the mating dance is so ingrained that they need not learn it from each other. He did it despite never having seen it in his life. Cracks me up with the males 'put the voodoo' on the hens. LOL
Thanks for your comment. I have a canary with only one eye. She's a sweet bird and being blind on one side has never put her at a disadvantage. I hope your Gouldian didn't find his lack of vision a problem. Our male Gouldian is still going his thing with our female.
Isn't their courtship dance funny! I have gouldian finches also and mine do the same thing occasionally-although mine actually jump up and down on the perch; this male looks like he was bouncing. Cute!
nice video! that is a quickie shot :) thanks for the video

I live in the UK and we keep the finches indoors. We find them as easy to keep as our canaries and budgies.

Thanks for your comment! I hope that all goes well with Razzle and Dazzle. Barry and Iris laid eggs but they were infertile :(
