  • world changing event;I heart Vermont.

  • I Really Like The Video From Your Amazing and very unique recording of HH 16 Karmapa Interview which took place during His Holiness Karmapa visit

  • karmapa khennoooooooooooooooo

  • y didnt the translator sit on the chair?

  • @jimanHK because in Tibetan culture he lamas are godlike and us normal folks are peasants only fit to serve them and grovel and bow. feudalism.

  • I am a Karmapa... Look at my eyes. Hear my tone.

  • @karmakagyu2 you just described a large majority of tibetan lamas in general.

  • @BillKiernan Indeed. I spent most of my adult life practicing tibetan buddhism, living at a meditation center, etc. any doe eyed american who learns a little tibetan, and doesn't let the lamas in on that fact, will be in for a big surprise when they hear how they talk about us. we're just a bunch of stupid cash cows to most of them. they put on their fancy hats, bored on their thrones and just collect money because they have a name for themselves.

  • @BillKiernan

Seems you're doing majority of posting here. Have some personal resentment you haven't worked out? People are always a mix.

  • @kalalakhadro people are always a mix indeed. that's why people shouldn't be worshiped as perfect buddhas who can do no wrong. that's the whole point.

  • @BillKiernan Indeed, good idea to keep a critical mind, and think for ourselves! But it's a shame if that stops us from being open to all that's good about it. And even worse if you try to stop others from opening up to something positive :(

  • these pompous corrupt priests on thrones make me sick.

  • @BillKiernan Why are they corrupt exactly?

  • @MoonBurgle they run ancient family businesses from a country where they lived on thrones in palaces like kings while the large majority of the population were illiterate and dirt poor with no chance of upward mobility. the closest thing you had to "opportunity" was to join a giant monastery where you molestation was common. then due to their negligence their country gets conquered, so they bring their family racket to the west to sell to us gullible westerners. $100 for magic spells.

  • @BillKiernan Ahh Classic charlatanism. I understand now.

  • Translator is shit

  • i just ran across this video. also, thanks to the interviewer for asking some excellent questions. thanx 4 posting!

  • Wow... amazing.... tears down when seeing 16thKarmapa appears in the monitor !!

  • Thank you skaratpa.

  • This just blows me away. I get shivers and joy and I'm alert and attentive just watching. Total and utter inspiration and devotion. AND me watching it on Guru Rinpoche day (monthly recognition it's today). Damn. The masters all up there on a TV show, never happen now, super 'chido' super cool. Thank you whomever found this gem and posted.

  • Your UNCLE!! Hey is this a Canadian show - are you Canadian?

  • Long life Karmapa Thaye Dorje!!!

  • Interesting that HHK16 stresses the primary importance of the prediction letters in the recognition process of the Karmapas. Also, for me, his physical resemblance to HHK17 Ogyen Trinley Dorje is striking (his manners and expressions are also remarkably similar).

  • many blessings for posting this video

  • Karmapa Chenno! Amazing to see and hear 16th Karmapas voice! Really inspiring! Long live 17th Karmapa Thaye Dorje

  • Amazing video. It's probably the only recorded interview with the 16 Karmapa. What happened to the film about the black crown ceremony? Upload it again please !!!!!!!!!

  • The interview doesn't really start until about 9 minutes into the video. Before that there is a bunch of chanting.

Tibetans don't know about ratings and commercial breaks!

  • Thank you so much for this rare and precious video. It brings tears to my eyes watching this, particularly since we are amidst a "double Karmapa" controversy today. Karmapa's Dharma activities was actually foretold by Buddha Shakyamuni in the "Samadhi Raja Sutra" - so sad for all devotees and practitioners to be embroiled in this controversy. "Follow the Dharma and not the person" is perhaps a lesson to be learnt.

  • thanks so much for this video, wow never seen video of HH 16th karmapa.

  • Thank you for sharing, this is amazing stuff!

  • Where was that tape for all those years? It is a miracle. Thank you! How did you get it?

  • thank you

  • Уникальная вещь! Я даже кое-что понял)

  • amazin!

  • Hey vodo. Thanks for that video.

  • AtoQ3: Karmapa: The essence of Buddha's teachings in general is about getting rid of creating harm to others, including the causes, and creating anything beneficial to others, including the causes. In this way, it is about the individual becoming not confused by ignorance and dwell in peace of mind.

  • AtoQ2: Jamgon cont: That's how the Karma became well known. However, it is said that there are billions of Karmapas in the billion worlds; so, the Karmapa's manifestations cannot be counted.

The Karmapa was the first lama to Incarnate in Tibet. The Karmapas usually leave a written instructions before leaving this world to discover his rebirth.

  • AtoQ2: Jamgon: As for the Karmapa incarnations, they are embodiments of the activities of all the Buddhas of the three times. The word 'Karmpa' is in Sanskrit. When this word is translated, it means 'activity.' So, he embodies the activities of all the Buddhas. In general the Karmapa was recognized in this world on the basis of predictions by Buddha himself and predictions by many great masters in their teachings. That's how the Karmpa, whose lineage traces back to Vajradhara, was recognized.

  • AtoQ1: Karmapa: Originally, with no distinction of different schools set, Bhagavan Buddha taught one Dharma; not two in contrast. Later on, over 100 siddhas (fully accomplished beings) appeared in India. One of them was Tilopa, who held four oral transmission, which he passed down to his disciple Naropa. As Naropa became the custodian of the four oral transmission, his lineage received the name Kagyupa, which means the lineage of Oral Transmission, or the command lineage.
