It is pretty exhilerating if you are into it. Most of these guys spent months if not more time building up these rigs to be the best. Now, personally, I prefer trail running, with some skill involved, but this takes a bit of skill to read the terrain and know when your rig has had enough. I just wish I had the skill, like some of my friends, to build such a thing. But, alas, I still have much to learn. Thats why you go to college, where they teach you to do this stuff!

You'll be surprised how much further you get driving like that compared to slow controlled crawling. I started like you, slow and controlled, thinking that as long as you don't break traction you'll get futher. Today if I can't go there slow, I'll hammer it and most of the times I'll pass the obstacle. or sometimes get really stuck.. :)

Awesome. You did a great job driving and the truck's build is fantastic. Suspension works great, engine runs super. Lots of people are clueless of just how slippery "wet slip rock" is. What are the tranny and transfer case? U-joint size? I run an Eaton/Fuller FS7206A & Fabco TC38. Tranny input is 1.75" dia, 10 spline, 14" Eaton clutch behind a special flywheel & clutch housing (SAE #2) I built. Output is 2" dia involute. Divorced Tcase is also 2" dia on all 3 shafts. 1710 spicer u-joints!!
