  • witch song is this?

  • the great darkness from the album rise of the tyrant.

  • thanks =)

  • it would help if they specified what tuning this is in. obviously not standard. i dont know much about arch enemy but i believe they play in drop C? someone correct me if im wrong/

  • They are tuned down 2 tones, a.k.a. C standard NOT drop C

  • ah ok. dont worry im not one of those idiots that doesnt know the difference between drop C and C standard. some people think cause its tuned lower they have to say drop hahaha/

  • whos is guy with red hair?

  • Michael Amott...

  • well i play some custom strings 0.68 e low without down tuning my guitar.emg with thick gauge strings are fucking awesome

  • the guy with the red hair is gorgeous. RSW

  • I use .13's for this tuning with a .60 low C (e string) and it fits perfectly. No rattling whatsoever, great tension and sound.

  • higher string guages will work but the height of the action on your guitar will sometimes determine whether you can use a lower guage for c tuning

  • someone told me that you don't need higher gaughes for downing to c it will just sound better my guitar came with .09 dont really wanna to to store to have that fixed up

  • I think the higher gauge is so that the string will give a bit of resistance, as opposed to turning to spaghetti.

  • @MWiley600RR true dat

  • You don't need higher gauge strings but they help with the intonation as well as the fact that they won't vibrate out of control and hit ont the frets.

  • Mike uses .11, which is not that heavy.

  • actually its very heavy ahahaha try going from .09 to .11! you'll feel the difference. i guarantee. and actually i've tried .09's to C and it just doesnt work. theres absolutely no tension so you cant even strum it. .10 works if its Drop C but it wont handle standard C

  • I use .09 gauge strings in drop c and i really like the feel of it, it works for me. I haven't had any problems yet.

  • i use 13-62 on a normal 25.5 scale, and for me it's just like .9 tuned E, i've gone from .9 to .13, and for me, it's been not that hard.

  • When tuning to C, .11 is the equivalent of a .09 or lower in tension. I personally can't stand playing on such a light gauge. I use .10's for my 7-string and .13's for my C-tuned guitar.

  • i have .08's on my guitar and i can play it fine in c. but that is probably due to the Floyd rose, and you can get some serious bends with the .08's

  • ive gone from 9guage to 12 and its great for my ninja600. i agree with u bout the lower guages tho, before i got my ninja i had a gibson les paul , wen i tuned that down to c with the 9guage it was shit, loads of buzz and some tension, but not enough.

  • hahaha i tuned my les paul to standard C with 9's a few weeks back. sounded so bad, but the lightness of the strings was incredible.

  • very true

  • yo, is your ninja an ESP or LTD, cause I got the ESP one.

  • no its the 'ltd' version unfortunatly. but there basicly exactly the same... nice one for buying the 'esp' tho , awesome guitar :)

  • what song is this from?

  • The Great Darkness

  • the great darkness

  • u reckon gibson gauge 13 are potent enough?

  • ernie ball beefy slinkys are perfect for the tuning

  • try some DRs they have a kick ass sound

  • What tuning do Arch Enemy use...?

    Is it CGCFAD ?

  • CFA#D#GC

  • all the strings are tuned down two whole steps.... so you need some big strings to do it... that's why they use 11-59.

  • yeah.. but aren't their gauges custom?

  • Its really not that big of a deal, unless your an extreme perfectionist and are recording.. which is why they use custom strings.

  • but its the B string like 7-strings guitar

  • yeah its a 59

  • im so glad the brothers are together again!

  • what is the thickness of michaels e string?

  • last time i checked it was .59

  • Isn't that a G on a bass lol ???
