I watched this at our final F2F when you presented it for school. I can not begin to say how beautiful this video is. Your message, your voice, the entire creation of this video is very moving. I never got a chance to speak to you in person but I wanted to say congrats and thank you for making a difference in this world. I have shared this with many many people and I really hope that thousands more are able to view it. - Sarah Bull (Cohort R - Delite)
Verse 2 To the soldier far from home Whose fearless strength carries on May these words keep you strong In our civilian’s song (Chorus1) Bridge 1 So we will stand up Everybody say it louder Everybody say it prouder God Bless the USA So we will stand up Everybody say it louder Everybody say it prouder I love the USA (Instrumental, Chorus 2) Chorus 2 (Alternate Ending) All for freedom’s cause We just want to say Thank you for it all
LYRICS HERE :) Verse 1 To the soldier who’s been gone for so long We’ve been here, cheering you on With our civilian’s song Never once has this been in vain We will never forget the names Of all of those who freely gave For freedom’s cause Chorus 1 Oh the things you must have seen The things you must have done The things you must have lost And all the battle’s you have won For such a heavy price We just want to say Thank you for the sacrifice
Beautiful song and lyrics. Appreciate all soldiers who serve our country but the politicians who promoted this video never served in the military. It is a self serving act from Minnesota's right wing & Tea Party. I am never surprised at how low they can go!
Thank you for your comments! This video and the message it holds is completely nonpartisan, as was the event it features. Invitations to participate were extended to offices from each party affiliation and those shown were the individuals who reponded to the invitation and attended on the day of filming. I am hopeful that people will recognize that the intended message is to inspire unity, patriotism, and gratitude to all those who serve our country.
As I said it is a beautiful song & lyrics and I certainly appreciate those who serve in the military. Having a close relative that lives in Alexandria and holds a public office there, the local understanding of those who participated is not as you explain it.
I am sorry that you have been hearing confusing messages, but to set the record straight, this song, this idea, the event, and this video was all about the troops. Personal and public announcements were made all over the community in the Alexandria Echo Press, the Grant County Herald, in the weekend shopping guide, on two radio stations, and on television to invite as many people as possible to join. The message is there for anyone who agrees with it. God Bless.
Thank you so much for that song! I have a friend over in Kuwait right now, and a brother-in-law over in Japan. I don't think that most Americans really appreciate the sacrifice our soldiers make so that we can have the things we do! God Bless You, and I WILL stand up PROUDLY!
Ciara you still amaze me; not only with your voice but your huge heart. Thanks for your tribute to our soldiers. I finally saw your Civilian Song video tonight and I agree with a previous comment... I wish there was a triple like button!!! Take care and God bless you Ciara.
Can someone please post the lyrics? My mom is nearly deaf and I really want her to know what this song is saying. My brother went blind after being injured in Iraq and this means a lot to me. Thank you.
Gangster capitalist are threatening the USA please find the way to regulate the unethical, unsustainable ruthless greed that is robbing millions of their mental and physical, economic and environmental well being. Criminal corporate conduct must be regulated is we intend to live sustainably
I would love to see this video reach 10,000 views by the end of the week. I callenge all of you to help reach this goal. Share it on Facebook, Twitter, a blog, website or email. Lets make it happen!
Thank you to all of our Troops and Veterans for giving us freedom in this wonderful country. Also, Ciara, you are an amazing artist and thank you for honoring our hero's. I am extremely proud of Ciara and our wonderful community of Alexandria, MN
Thanks Ciara and all who helped! What a way to honor and thank all those who have served and sacrificed for our wonderful USA and others around the world. Also a reminder that God has blessed the USA and a prayer that He will continue. You did a great job!
I live in Alexandria, MN and have a husband who is currently deployed with the U.S. Army. Heard this for the first time tonight at an Alexandria Blizzard game on Military Appreciation night. Great song! Also, thanks to Alexandria, MN for your support!
What a great song. We will never forget all the sacrifices made for freedom. We will never forget them. We love the US and don't even live there but cant wait till our next trip from down under. :-)
From a hometown Alexandrian who joined the Marines and went off to fight in Iraq, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. This made my Veteran's Day. Semper Fi and may God Bless you.
Thank you, Ciara, for sharing your awesome talent in such a respectful way to our troops and our country. Your song is powerful--it makes a person want to join in! I know someone over in Afghanistan right now am sharing this video with his family. Much thanks again to you, and to the people of Alexandria. God Bless you, our troops, and our country!
You have a beautiful voice and we are blessed to hear you honor our soldiers with it! Thank you! And thank you for not being 'politically correct' , by using the name of our awesome God in your video/song! God bless you !
God bless you Ciara for sharing your special gift in writing and singing this song. You are a patriot and a great American. At the end when the whole crowd was singing, it brought tears to my eyes. I hope you don't mind, but I'm posting this on my Facebook Page. Hopefully it will bring more views to this wonderful tribute to our military men and women.
This is a powerful clip and a special tribute for our troops. You could feel the passion and love for our men and women in the military. Then the song itself: Wow! Well written and then of course Ciara herself did a great job. Thank you Ciara for being obedient and stepping beyond your comfort zone to create something for all true blue Americans to enjoy. We are adding it, with your permission, to our Russian Harvest Ministries website. God bless, Peter & Jill Mehl
