  • You guys are amazing.... WOW! Thank you for sharing this!

  • I was around when this song came out. Great song, Good Job!!

  • The song is actually called "Summertime, Summertime". Though not a huge national hit in the US, it was a top 10 record in Chicago. It was played heavily on 50,000-watt clear-channel WLS radio in the summer of 1962.

  • @jrs1010 Wrong! It's "Under the Boardwalk" by the Drifters. (Summertime, Summertime is a completely different song).

  • @bet624 Yes, I'm aware that the Four Quarters are singing a song by the Drifters here. (Hey, I used to be a beach-music DJ on the radio in Virginia, so I'm certainly familiar with the Drifters' recordings!) I was actually replying to the post by galati55 just below this one. He referred to the Jamies, but incorrectly gave the title of their record as "It's Summertime....

  • Speaking of summertime, How about that old song, "Its Summertime" by the Jamies ?

  • Fantastic work ladies.

  • Great job and great example of the sort of light, breezy R&B that is commonly known as "beach music" here in the Southeastern US. And so is "My Girl". There's a lot more "beach tunes" that would really fit your style and voices, too. (Maybe "My Guy" or "Hello Stranger".) Anyway, I love you guys. I used to be a radio DJ and I've been telling all my friends in the music business about you. ! Are you going to be offering any MP3 downloads on iTunes or Amazon, though?

  • @jrs1010 Thanks for the kind words. We don't have any plans for downloads at this point. However, Crystal Ball Records has produced a CD featuring 21 of the girls' songs, and it's available online. I think Amazon also has the CD for sale, but it costs a little more.

  • the best!!!

  • Sarah's performance on the 2nd alto part really makes this one work for me. Everyone seems to be having fun with it.

  • @Jazzbeu55 I've been doing this with my choir throughout the fall. Bailey sings lead, with a whole choir to back her up. Oddly enough, the FQ never did this song in public for anyone, nor did they do What Child is This. They did it only for their youtube 'audience'. So I'm doing this right now with my choir for Christmas. No point in letting a good arrangement go to waste.

  • respect from Austria!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW AMAZAING

  • The Four Quarters bring a fresh sound to traditional do-wop, and are a big improvement over the two-part harmonies which dominate 60s music. Will they try other close harmony styles, like Farmer's Daughter (Beach Boys version, not Fleetwood Mac), Hushabye (Beachboys, not Mystics), Please Let Me Wonder, Don't Hurt My Little Sister, The Lonely Sea (Beach Boys)?

  • This is awesome! You girls are all great. I wish people had enough drive in my choir to try to put something like this together. I'm going to have to find some guys in my area to start a barbershop quartet now. You've inspired me :)

  • <3 :)(:

  • Look girls ignore all the bad comments they are just jealous you have lovely voices I might start one (if Anyone is enthusiastic in my choir lol)

  • Listened to this for the first time and it's ALREADY stuck in my head lol. Great job!

  • Awesome !

  • I should send you the arrangement for this that I have , it is TTBB , but could be pitched higher to make it more singable for you.

  • I love this! I own their C.D. and love every song! How anyone can criticize them is beyond me. I am a fan and will always support these wonderful singers. Keep up the great music girls! You truly are gifted.

  • You ladies are so sweet

  • The hell with the bad comments you're really good

  • Synchronicity; and timing is good--- but lacking harmonics; and true musicality-- JJJ

  • Thank you for ruining another classic song.

  • Twas a great hit of the Drifters a half century ago. It's so nice that you, rising generation, still appreciate the tune of our days. I hope you are not drifting around your universities but determined.

Your smiles are golden. Congratulations, four ladies.

  • Congratulations on getting one million views! Hope you all are enjoying your break from school!

  • I love it!! Great job yet again. :)

  • Wow .. The Four Quarter Million! Super!

  • sing deeper celtic or classical themes and better material: e.g.

    Ave Maria (Fraz Schubert); Mull Of Kintyre; Carrickfergus; Danny Boy;

  • Really nice-kind of an unusual arrangement. But superb!

  • Nice work girls as usual ....keep singing please and releasing these vid clips

  • Been a while, and I am tickled your are still making beautiful music.

  • Heel mooi!

  • YOU ROCK !!!

  • Not my favourite nummer of the ones you posted here.

    Still very impressive. Awesome talent.

Maybe do something for us poor europeans? ;)

  • I bought your CD not too long ago. Its really awesome! I just wish you guys would do more medleys. I find lots of your songs sound like church music, but its still good. I would suggest to do songs that are still Doo Wop but more "rocky" like love at first bite or Doo Wop Medley :)

Anyway i like what you girls are doing and keep up the good work!

  • If you watch this one with the sound turned "off", it becomes very obvious how much fun the group had singing it. It also becomes apparent that "Windy" might have been a more appropriate song in that setting. The girls have been together so long that they even fix their wind-blown hair at the same time! They did a wonderful job even as they battled Mother Nature.

  • Can u gals do "my guy" by mary wells

  • You girls are awesome!! Thank you :)

  • Fantastic!

  • Enjoyed this one :D

  • Nature complements you very well here. The temptation to frisbee that record must have been irresistable.Well done Sarah.

  • I am so happy you posted this one. There is such joy in your faces that all can see your love of singing and of each other. Bravo!

  • Nice one again. You've got amazing Voices.

  • Thanks for posting this one. I had assumed that Crystal Ball didn't want it on YouTube. I love the unusual arrangement, the setting and the relaxed style of the group. You did a good job with it . Everyone who likes this would absolutely love the studio version on the CD. I am still curious about that second setting during Christmas that showed up in the blooper video. Was it a song that died on the launching pad or is there still another song or two being held in reserve?

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • Fue en un cafe e e!! :P

  • WOW!!!
