He won the UEFA Cup, but failed in 3 other occasions in the UEFA Cup.

We cant judge him by the same standards in the uefa cup/champions league as napoli is nowhere near as good as barcelona so was much harder for maradona than for messi
The reason i critisise messi in the copa and world cup is because for barcelona he doesnt play as a trequartista, so the only times hes played that position hes failed

There is much less space on the field and defenders are much more keen to tactics and organization. This is why it is almost unreal how messi (and xavi love him) can so fluidly control games with such ease it seems. They're both master classes but messi is out of this world.

I just think that Van Persie is better in the way that he is a much more complete and versatile player than Messi is. He has to play in a squad where he is by far the focal point of the attack.
