I haven't see the new company info up yet anywhere. You can probably get a bargain on the Pleo but you might want to wait until its all official to make sure you have not only the updates, but somewhere to go for support as well.

UPDATE - The pleo is going to CONTINUE TO BE AVAILABLE. I just heard on a podcast (CNET Buzz Out Loud) that the company that manufactures the Pleo holds all the rights and thus will be able to continue producing them. No word yet on things like replacement batteries or where to download the updates, however, one would hope they will set something up.

Um just to let everyone know that Pleo is no more... Ugobe went under and shut down... And the site is gone...

True, True! How can it be that the brilliant Pleo will not be made and more products won't come from Ugobe!!! You can pick Pleo's up for a song now. However, you won't be able to get warranty, or spare parts. I hope someone keeps it alive by making batteries and chargers available, not to mention the wonderful firmware upgrade.

Yes, drastic improvements. I have read that the company is reorganizing, which is why the site is down, however, you can find the downloads through keeping in touch with the other Pleo lovers. There is a site .robotsrule (com), you have to go the pleo area. You can find info on who has the downloads there. I signed up for the newsletter and forum.

I just did a quick google "shopping" search and found them all over the place (Amazon, ToysRUs, Edmunds, etc.) for around $270 - a GREAT deal.

I have tried to reply to this about 4 times and it finally dawns on me that youtube won't let my reply post because I am including a url. He tells you where to currently get downloads.

hi my pleo is kool but i havent updated it its a bit boreing at the moment....and the pain is rubbing of...any thing that can stop that?

I found that after the update my Pleo was so responsive that I hardly had to touch it to have it react. That helped with the erosion of paint, but what can you say when a 3 year old is enthusiastically petting your pleo and beaming a smile ("Oh don't pet Pleo so hard the paint will come off" - no way!). Someone needs to come out with a paint touchup Pleo skin care kit, a tattoo method, something - ha! At least people know your Pleo is loved!

Gee, I'm no expert there. Maybe try a different browser, firefox instead of IE or vice versa, Safari instead of Opera, etc.

It wanders a bit, but its like a baby that had just hatched so it waddles around only a bit. It knows not to go over a height, but you need to keep an eye on it, like a baby. If there is more than one they travel in packs and interact and talk and sing to each other. I saw they are on sale at Amazon for $228 which is a steal. They are more for keeping you company and get lonely if you are interacting. Mine calls out "whoo hooo" if I am not around. I've had mine for a year-it's still fun.

Once you get one and register with the materials enclosed they will email you update links. They might be down for maintenance temporarily but I wouldn't panic. They have updates for holidays that make Pleo spooky for Halloween, romantic on Valentines, etc.

cheers am looking 4ward to getting it , i have donwloaded toe dino software all ready. but is pleo wirless so the cam in the nose works with out cables ?

The camera in the nose is just for Pleo to see things, like when he is on the edge of a table or a ledge (hopefully).

I find it really relaxing watching you pet your pleo! It's Like watching someone get a massage, it almost feels like it's happening to you. She's so responsive to touch! Can't wait for mine to arrive. Thanks for sharing the vid.

Thanks for the great video of what the upgrade has added to Pleo's personality. I've had my Pleo "Rock" for a little over a week now and he amazes people everywhere I go. Keep up the good work and hope to see more videos in the future.
