Thanks for the boar bristle brush advice. My sister uses gel and my mom was telling her to stop using that gel cause it has alcohol in it. She says she needs to keep her edges nice. I will be getting a boar bristle brush.

I have splits as well, but I try my best to moisturize my hair and do anything possible to reduce rubbing on pillowcases, coats, shirts, etc. Splits on long hair is almost inevitable.

I only brush that area once it has been detangled and not brush it to detangle it. That stopped the breakage in that area for me as well as getting braids done less

This a good video. Very nice and well done tutorial. You remind me of a teacher. Literally. A hair teacher that can teach at a school. I changed my youtube name from gmcmim to gmcmim1. I was ready for a change and had some stuff going on (drama). So I added a 1 because I am my number one priority. Look after myself, take care of myself, learn for myself. Not excluding people out of my life but I think you get my point. Again good tutorial. Will do.

A scissor. They must be cut. Trim gradually if you don't want to lose much length but be mindful not to do the things you did in the past to get them in the first place if you can help it.

well even though i have hair that's short (mainly the edges that are growing back) i use water or motions pomade, but that's a rare occasion but i know what you mean. thanks again for show us how to do your twist its cute and easy.

only hard non flexible combs (aka the ones that create songs and melodies when you run your finger tip across the teeth). This comb is the greatest of all time !

I wish I knew what to tell you lol. I think it's a matter of practice. When I started braiding my hair, one side would be tighter and neater than the other. Once I mastered getting both sides to look the same, I guess it stuck with me for other styles...i dont know lol.
