  • how do you open AD in fl studio????

great vid btw really helped out

  • @FawxNewbz I'm not sure what you mean by hitting keys thing. If you play it on a keyboard, you will be out of sync, you shoud quantize your sequences after you've recorded them.

  • @FawxNewbz Which file?

  • I was wondering if you could tell me how to open addictive drums in fl. Its only letting me open it in the mixer and nowhere else. I need to get it to open up in the piano roll. Please Help!

  • how do you program your drum beyond a 16th in the pattern? i want a 32nd note drum for the beat drop

  • @LW89music Simple, you should just be able to drag the end of the note to the point where it's a 32nd. Make sure you set your snap mode to 1/2 step or less.

  • greetings!!! lol

  • how to get this software ???

    anyone can't tell me?

    plZ..

    :))

  • how is this metal drumming??

  • Interesting... why did you choose to go with the plugin that 99% of us doesn't have...This isn't a tutorial.

  • @OmgCemen Yes it is, these skills aren't dependent on the library you use, they all work exactly the same when it comes to programming MIDI. I could have used any plug-in and a wide majority of people wouldn't have it, although you're right in that I could have used FPC, but as I said, that's unimportant.

  • @metabog Yea, but actually, I believe most of us don't have those skills you're talking about yet. I came here to learn how to use drums properly and make my lame snare an awesome one.

  • @OmgCemen I'm probably going to make another drum tutorial, this is my first ever tutorial and hardly the best. Unfortunately turning a lame snare into an awesome one isn't just a programming matter, there's a ton of stuff that goes into it, most of which is learned by doing and mixing different types of drums, so really a tutorial would be fairly unhelpful for that. What I was probably trying to show in this video is how to 'think' when programming drums to make them fairly realistic.

  • where did you get addictive drummer?

  • im downloading this program as we speak now hahaha. i love the drum sounds. can i use my PC keyboard for midi? and if so how?

  • So good thanks man!

  • where the fuck can I get the drums like that? My snare sounds like a hip hope piece of SHIT

  • Greetings...

  • Is there anyway you can use the EZdrummer software with FL Studio?

  • @summitthescale Of course, it's a VST plugin.

  • Hey how do you change the time sig? I can only really get it to be in 4/4

  • hey you can not configure the buttons for example, a is being hat hit

or other buttons can control the addictive drums with the keyboard in fl studio

  • @luisangel3100 No you can't do that with just Addictive Drums, but you can with a MIDI remapper or with MAX/MSP.

  • GREETINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if your tempo is set for 84, (which is slow) how do you make a fast fill in the drum editor without the fill being at 84 ?

  • @2MARINES2

Basically, say you have your 3 bars of normal beat

Have that on one pattern and at the tempo you wish

Have a new pattern with a new tempo, and create your fill on that and then put the two together when putting the song together

    Hope that helps :D

  • @2MARINES2 You program the fill with shorter duration notes, like 32 or 64 notes. It's all relative really, you can work at 1bpm and still program as fast as you want.

  • @metabog Cept that would be painfully annoying. And FL's lowest bpm limit is 10 bpm, but yeah.

  • you dont even need the same drum program as him just download some better drum samples and just use the normal fl studio defualt way of making any beat

  • from where i can get this drum machine i cant find it in my fl how i can get it some help me

  • This is gr€at!

    w€ll don€ :D

  • how can you make a slow beat for a fast tempo?

  • how did you get that snare sound?

  • @TMF58 I don't really remember how I did that one in Addictive Drusm, but I could share my current presets. I was thinking of starting an FTP server to upload audio stuff like presets and samples. To get a dry sound like that though, you should set the mic mix for the snare to all bottom (no top mic), turn the room channel all the way down, then use the gating part with a quick decay so there's no ringing, and maybe use the EQ to turn up the high-mid frequencies to taste.

  • @metabog Sorry, I mean all top and no bottom, so no "snare" sound, just bang.

  • How the bloody hell do I ARRANGE the drum samples to the KEYS on the piano roll?

When I enter the PIANO ROLL all I get is THE SAME SAMPLE all over the keys.

You forgot to explain HOW to bloody install the DRUMS AT ALL and how to EDIT THEM *INTO* the piano roll. There is really *NO POINT AT ALL* to this tutorial if you cannot properly *EXPLAIN* how to even *START* the drum editor AT ALL

  • @MechaAkuma I'm sorry but if you don't even know how to install a piece of software maybe you should read the readme file before you try programming drums or shouting at me. This is a tutorial on drum editing techniques not installing the software, and assumes some knowledge of using FL Studio. Read the title, it's "Drum Programming Tutorial" not "Using Addictive Drums" tutorial. There's a readme file for that.

  • @metabog The problem isn't installing the software. The problam is being able to START the drum editor at all. In your tutorial you start at the drum editor. It isn't explain in the manual, nor in the video tutorials on FLs site nor on any YouTube tutorial. I would love to use your tips on how to make a beat but they are entirely useless if I can't even START the drum editor at all! You take for granted that people will actually know how to even startthe drum editor.

  • @MechaAkuma There's no "drum editor", you have to use external libraries, and it would take tens of videos to go into the details of how they work. The one I'm using is called Addictive Drums, and you load it up as a channel and go into the piano roll, where the different drums are already arranged according to a custom (non-general midi) mapping. If you want to use cheaper FL studio drums, try loading up a channel of Fruity FPC. It's similar.

  • @metabog When I load up the drums in a piano roll I get the Hi Hat sound all over the keys. No matter which pian okey I press I get the same Hi-Hat sound; only different pitches. I cannot edit the piano keys, I cannot put in another drum sound on the keys and I cannot edit a drumbeat what so ever in the piano roll. The "Drum Editor" I am referring to is the FIRST SCREEN you start atduring your tutorial - the piano roll screen with all th samples loaded to different piano keys. That doesn't exist

  • greetings

  • liked the tutorial, any idea's on older versions? :) like FL 6

  • Do want that plugin, where can I get it?

  • Where can I get Addictive drum kit??

  • thanks a lot!!! =D

  • How did you get the drum set like mod?

  • that was cool!

  • You need to go into the settings and make sure the buffer length isn't too short. If you don't have a proper ASIO driver you may have problems playing back what you programmed. It could be something else though, but you'd have to describe the problem in more detail.

  • Do i really need addicticve drums or i can do this only with FL ?

  • Make sure you install all VST plugins to C:\Program Files\VstPlugins or similar, keep them in the same place. Then from FL Studio right click on the instrument panel to add an instrument. At the very top select 'more' then 'refresh'.

You should now see all new plugins listed and if you tick the boxes you can add them like any other instrument for use in FL Studio. If yoiu still can't see them, you have probably not installed the VST in the right place.

  • i have additive drums also, but how do you open it, like in your video. to make the beats

  • how can you make your toms sound like marching quads?

  • Marching quads?

  • I think this tutorial saved me months of fiddling.

  • Hi, thanks for the tutorial

I saw the tutorial and read the help file but I didn´t find the info on how to get to the "fruty loops standard abc drum module" and how to assign different drum sounds to the Piano roll. I have the FL ), is it different? I hope you can help me... Thanks in advance

  • Hehe. It's not acb, it's FPC. When you open FL you should have a number of channels loaded. Right click any of them and go to insert, and you will find FPC there. For some reason the video recording app I was using at the time didn't record the menu I went through, but when you right click you get a menu, and if you go to insert (or replace) you will find all the plugins you have.

  • Can just torrent it JEEZ.

  • are you using EZ drums?

  • Addictive Drums

  • Very helpful, drums have been the only major problem with my music writing and recording.

  • Where can i find the piano roll like the one you have??

  • Right click a channel, click piano roll.

Or better yet, read the help files. :) You need to know FL inside out before you can really use it.

  • where the hell i download this kit?

  • not a kit, a plugin

  • Very nice, thanks.

  • Guys, guys, formulate some real damn sentences I really can't understand what you're trying to say.

  • do you mean is this free, fucking hell man learn english then talk it

  • I NEED HELP!!! This might be stupid. how to you customize the piano??? PLEASE REPLY!!!!

  • To change colour?

  • how do u get the larger timeline thing im new to fl

  • hey ur tutorials are just great. thanks alot.

can u plz tell me on which tempo u play this?

  • Hi, you can see the tempo in the video, it's 140.

  • thanks bro!

  • hey... i wanna know what drum thing that u used

  • If by drum-thing you mean the drum samples, the sample library is called Addictive Drums.

  • were did u get that plug in???

     thnx alot..

  • the demo version of addictive is free has one kit and no time limit, and it will blow u away.the best sounding drum software avalable in the market

  • Great tutorial--I just want to use this for demos and home studio stuff--really helps me understand my new program. I am having trouble getting my bars to line up properly from different patterns in my playlist. Any suggestions?

  • You could try adjusting the snap to grid settings for the playlist, I almost always leave it on 'cell', unless you have bars that finish before a 4/4 or after (like some compound time signature). Then you could either switch to a lower quantisation divison for the snap to grid, or zoom in until the cells become smaller.

  • Thanks a ton!

  • this is really helpful... great plugin too.. i gotta get the same plugin since what i want from this program is just drums...

    thanks alot dude...

  • thanks ....... i figured it out,, generators :) lol

  • new to fruit loops how did you get them drug things to show up i just dont have a clue what i have 2 click on

  • Read the help files for really basic stuff. But as I said, you won't have my drums, these are separate samples! FL Studio has some drums in it as well.

  • First of i'd like to say this is a great tutorial(5star and Subed) and second what is the drum plugin called that you used in this tutorial?

  • Thank you. The drum plugin is called Addictive Drums, with a preset I made myself.

  • OK Thank you, Is this a free plugin? If so where can i get it?
