  • Love you Mister Rogers - you got me through tough childhood times

  • See you in heaven Mr.Rogers :)

  • A true visionary. He's missed by so very many. Ugga mugga

    xo

    Angela

  • Miss ya Mr.Rogers......You live on in the kind hearts you toucjed.Thank You.

  • What a nice man. No question he got one of the best seats up in heaven.

  • Why'd you have to leave us, we need you here.

  • c est bien , il parle gentilment , dousement ,clearment,j ai tout compris !!

  • Mr. Rogers was my guru when I was a teen babysitting queen in the 60's and 70's. I learned from him that gentle ways are best. I learned how fragile the hearts and how magical were the minds of little children. How funny they were, and how much fun it was to make them laugh and be happy. My sister laughed when I was still watching years later, but I was a Mom then. Somewhere there's a tape of my son singing "I'm Taking Care of You" to his Grandparents, when he was barely 2. gina

  • I always wanted to be his neighbor. He made me feel good about myself. :)

  • I love this Man.

  • One of the saddest TV show endings and certainly a WONDERFUL man...Mr. Rogers I love you

  • I grew up watching Mr.Rogers. I just watched this...and I couldn't help but shed a few tears... What a truly great man he was. Rest in peace Mr.Rogers, I hope to meet you again someday. And you can be my neighbor.

  • Mr. Rogers is one of the most amazing people in the world. Besides my parents, a few friends, and one person who isn't a friend that I know, he's probably the best guy to ever walk on this planet. Roger's probably has a special section of "heaven" devoted to him, but he'd let everyone visit him there anyways.

  • Mr. Rogers is the Mr. Rogers of kindness.

  • I can't watch this without crying, it was my want when I was a child to meet Mister Rogers, but every time I see this I know we already did everyday when I watched his nieghborhood

  • Oh god, I love you forever Mr. Rogers. :')

  • Mr. Rogers was a pretty cool guy. Eh was a good neighbor and doesn't afraid of anything.

  • mr rodgers likes you just the way you are; everybody else thinks youre an asshole. just joking. or am i?

  • I only saw his show for the first time only a few months back, but I'm glad I did late than never. This man truly has been a saint and whereever he is now, I hope he knows that I'm just another person he helped with his message.

    Thank you Mr. Rogers.

  • We're BEYOND "life long friends" Mr. Rogers!!!

  • You know if I die and actually go to heaven (I have a few atheist view points just so you know) I don't want God to be the one to great me, nor that Jesus guy, I would want Mr.Rodgers to be the one to bring me into heaven. That my friends is how much the World respects him, hell even freaking 4Chan loves the guy.

  • 2 bastards are heartless

  • @DansEditorials 2 bastards are Hitler & and his clone.

  • I'm 18 and im not ashamed to say I miss Mister Rogers :( R.I.P

  • One of the greatest men who ever lived... and I mean that with all sincerity.

  • I met him in person as a kid once. I still have an autograph from him. I remember he is exactly the same in real life as he was on the show.

mister rogers isn't just a character. mister rogers is just fred rogers being fred rogers in front of a camera.

  • When Fred Rogers was at the gates. St. Peter, Jesus, God, and everyone else opened the gates of heaven and said "Welcome Neighbor"

  • This was uploaded on my birtday :) But this is so sad. R.I.P. My Favourite Neigbour! 143

  • There is no shame in crying over this video. We are witnessing the last public words of a greeat man.

  • One of the most amazing, and needed, and beloved people in the history of ever. I wish he could still be with us, but if we never forget him and his gentle lessons, that will be the next best thing, and there can still be hope for us all.

  • The tears, oh god, they won't stop.

  • ;_;

  • "It's such a good feeling to know that we're life-long friends." You can count on me for that, Mr. Rogers. RIP

  • I tried not to cry...but I did. ;m;

  • I am 18 and they didn't even show this in my country yet I'm crying so much...

  • 2 people don't want to be anyone's neighbor.

  • awwww its sad that 2 people don't have feelings

  • Going through a divorce and watching this made me smile through my tears. He was my dad growing up. Thank you for being amazing, Mr. Rogers. There's not many people who will look at a stranger and say, "I like you just the way you are." You make me feel loved. :)

  • We don't even have Mr. Rogers in this country and the man can still make me cry like a baby. What a beautiful human being.

  • I burst into tears when I first saw this, just about two hours ago. In just 1 minute and 26 seconds, I now have a new meaning to keep going with life. Thank you, Mr. Rogers.

  • When I saw Mr.Rogers acceptance speech, I cried like a baby, still am and I'm 16 He is SO KIND.

  • I didn't grow up with Mr. Rogers. I never even knew who he was, but now i know this man was wonderful. RIP

  • lol. I am a grown ass man and i'm fighting tears (manly tears as NeutrinoReinard posted) watching this.

  • I luv mister rodgers

  • ...I once heard he used to be a SEAL, and wore sweaters so kids wouldn't see his arm tats. It just made me like him more. Goodbye, Mr. Rogers. We'll miss you, but you will never be forgotten.

  • @Vixen92 That was a myth.

  • @Vixen92 This isn't true. He was a Presbyterian Minister. Dr. Ruth Westheimer was a sniper for the Israeli Army, though.

  • Oh Jesus, it's coming to the point where only this and Toy Story 3 can bring me to tears.

  • It's a blessing that this man was able to share his words of wisdom, sense of hope, and just knowing that someone cares about you too so many people. Children who are now adults will always remember the words "I like you...just the way you are." Although we can't see you Mr.Rogers....we always know you're there for us.

  • I remember watching this show several years ago. Just to know someone would always be there was a wonderful feeling. Seeing this video for the first time several years after Mr.Rodgers and hearing him say that he likes me just the way I am makes me feel like he is still here today. In fact he is still here today, in all of our hearts. He deserved to live forever. And I can promise you when i have children I will play this show for them. Thank you Mr.Rodgers.

  • You can just tell he is pure.

  • Mister Roger's Neighborhood was, without a doubt, one of the most beloved children's television hosts of all-time, and the life lessons he taught us were numerous. What made Fred's show truly great was that one simple line "I like you just the way you are."...He made kids feel comfortable just being themselves. You can't really say so much for children's shows now. None of them can compare with him...RIP Fred Rogers

  • I lived in Australia, I never watched Mr Rogers, I never knew he even existed until a little over half an hour ago when I stumbled upon videos of him, and just watching them, I already can sense that he was one of the most amazing people I've know to exist. I haven't seen a single sign of aggression, hate or any other negative attributes, simply pure love.

And watching this video, this man who I didn't know existed half an hour ago has me tearing up with this video.

    Rest in Peace Mr Rogers.

  • Mr.Rogers thank you

  • He's one guy that really cared about his viewers. Didn't do this for money and fame, but because he wanted children's television to change. I watched Mr. Rogers during one of his last few seasons and it was one of my favorites. R.I.P.

  • He was the most powerful, influential person in my generation. No joke.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOO I'll remember u forever mr Rogers

  • I don't know why two people disliked this, but I want them to know that even if they didn't enjoy it, I still like you just the way you are.

  • @GremlinLee111 They clearly disliked it because it's reminding them of his death... :(

  • Such an amazing show when you think about it. It's a shame that they don't make quality kids programming like this anymore. Instead, I feel like now it's all about colors and flashy things to entertain, but no emphasis on the wholesome little lessons and care Mr. Rogers showed us growing up.

  • This is who I wanna be like.

  • I remember this guy as a kid. :<

  • I don't mean this in any sort of disrespect....but I couldn't help how the camera was zooming in ever so slowly.

It would be funny if it kept zooming in and zooming in and zooming in...into his eye. lol

Ok but seriously. I miss all these old shows. Especially Mr. Rogers and Eureka's castle.

  • There's tears in my eyes typing this...it's so sad that this world lost someone so loving and sweet. I'm so glad I got to be his neighbour, I think we need a little more of his love in this world.

  • The man had a heart of gold.

  • God bless you Mr. Rodgers. You are a saint.

  • He was one heck of a man! I was bummed out to hear that he had died. I heard about that when I was at school on the PA System and I was just SHOCKED and thought "Oh no! PBS has lost a legend!" Anyway, Mr. Rogers was just as special as Walt Disney and Jim Henson. That's how I'd put it.

  • I cried watching this as well. We love you Mr. Rogers! RIP

  • 2 people are HEARTLESS MOTHERFUCKERS.

  • Gandhi could take lessons from this motherfucker.

  • -_-7

Sleep well, Fred. One day, the world will be just like your neighborhood. No matter how many years it takes.

  • Goodbye, Mr. Rogers!

  • i loved watching mr rogers i just now know hes gone wow i loved his show i saw this clarabells goodbye kids now im depressed.

  • You know what's funny? I never watched the show( it was never aired in Malaysia) but I got teary eyes knowing that there are some good, kindhearted people in this cold cruel world that we lived in.

  • Mr. Rogers is the Chuck Norris of kindness.

  • @theroncon That's beautiful, man.

  • @theroncon Mr. Rogers doesn't have anything under his heart. There is only another hug.

  • @theroncon

    I disagree.

Chuck Norris is the Mr. Rogers of badass.

  • @theroncon

Well, he did win The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny, after all.

  • @theroncon no. chuck norris doesn't deserve to be associated with Fred Rogers

  • What the...? Youtube made me cry? How did that happen?

    RIP Mr. Rogers. You're amazing.

  • Everybody needs to be told this. Everybody.

  • R.I.P. Mister Rogers was a one-of-a-kind man. I was lucky to have met him just a few months before he died. He was just as kind as he was on TV.

  • Kids are REALLY missing someone these days. I mean REALLY missing someone.

  • I feel sad never being one of those children that met Mr. Rogers. I always cried when he sang "It's you I like." No matter what, he always touched my heart. RIP, Mr. Rogers. Know that you are always my neighbor.

  • The best neighbor a person who can ever have. Rest in peace Mr. Rogers.

  • miss ya fred...unfortunate...and I watchd your show EVERY day growing up in the early 80's

  • I seriously think that God possessed Rogers. He's THAT nice of a person...

  • I wish we could get through just one year without losing somebody stellar. Somebody like Mr. Fred Rogers or Jim Henson, for example. :(

  • Damn, he'd better be in heaven

  • This man WAS my childhood. Goodbye, God bless and Godspeed, my friend.

  • (Time:12:38am) TT_TT It's been awhile since I seen anything with Mr. Rogers, but... wow I'm crying now.

RIP Mr. Rogers Thank you for being 'my' neighbor. :)

  • I... never watched Mr Rogers when I was growing up. To be honest, until a couple of years ago I didn't even know that he existed. And yet, watching videos like this, hearing all the differences he has made in other people's lives, and listening to him speak, I think I can say...

Mr. Rogers, I would have been proud to call you my friend.

  • "we are the temporary custodians of a world our children inherit."

  • Rest In Peace Mr. Rogers. I'll miss you very dearly. You were a major role in my life.

  • I'll NEVER forget Mr. Rogers

  • I'd seen quite a few episodes of Mr. Roger's show, but I never really thought much of them, or what they were about. It was just one of those things that had always been there, and I took it for granted. Years later, I realize that the main reason why was because I simply couldn't imagine PBS without Mr. Rogers; It was always there, whenever I needed or even just wanted to see it. I never doubted it for a second.

I hope I have the chance to be taken for granted someday, myself.

  • 1 person is a zxquzxqzxqywsc a word I made up for something undescrible.

  • Rest in Peace, old friend. Im proud and grateful to have been your "neighbor" in my childhood.

  • You know, I never really watched much of Mr. Rogers. When I was a kid, I only watched the parts with the puppets, and didn't bother with anything else. Now, I'm older, and I know more about him and what he did in his life, and I regret that the show wasn't more dear to me as a child. I hope he is resting in peace, because there won't ever be another man like him.

  • I've never seen Mr Rogers, even when I was younger. I've heard of him, sure, but never watched any of his show.

I watched this, listened to what he was saying and was in tears when he said "I like you just the way you are." I'm not very confident, and that just... did it for me. Thanks, Mr Rogers.

  • I cried manly tears. I barely knew him, but just by chance I stumbled upon his show's article on the Wikipedia. Researched a bit, looked up a few episodes and woah. He was an angel on Earth, and I know he's still liking all of us the way we are on his neighborhood in Heaven.

  • The Internet is a raunchy, wretched hive of scum and villainy, but this is the one man who no one will brook disrespect for. I can respect that.

  • He said in one of his interviews that "Kids can spot a phony." I am convinced that's why we were all drawn to him. He was sincere and true. A belated farewell to you, good neighbor. For making it okay to be just who we are, you are so missed. My wife and I decided years ago that we would not be having children. Mr. Rogers is one significant part of the reason my wife and I will be donating to PBS after we pass. We like to reward good judgement; putting him on PBS was loads of good judgement.

  • *pumps shotgun* WHO'S THE MOFO WHO DISLIKED?

  • @vexnsiolence What would Mr. Rogers say? Pressing the dislike button won't hurt anyone, so live and let live.

  • I LOVE this man....he is a SAINT.

  • What the media needs to do is have re runs of his show on Nick or put it back on PBS and get rid of the other junk they put on there. Mr.Rogers taught kids and let them know they had a friend. All these shows today just show dumb stuff.

  • I know it's really lame and kind of sad but whenever I feel sad or down or I don't really like myself, I watch this video. When he says "I like you just the way you are" I lose it because I know he means it. Growing up I didn't get that kind of love from my parents and as sad as it is I always knew that Mr. Rogers cared. He did give a damn about me, about all the kids who watched his show.

Mr. Rogers, even though you are no longer with us, you give me a reason to keep on going. Thank you.

  • @insomniawatcher its not lame at all, alot of people (including myself) do the exact same thing

  • @insomniawatcher I can't think of anything other than what you had to say.

Even to this day, as a dick head cynical asshole, I can watch him and listen to him and just suddenly gain a positive outlook.

The man was as nice, caring, and inspirational as a human can be. No matter how old or bitter I get, I'll always cherish everything Mr. Rogers addressed to "me" (us).

  • @insomniawatcher I think Mr Rodgers understands that inside all of us is a child that just wants to be told things will be okay, you are doing a good job - people care about you. Mr Rodgers understood that adults and children really arn't so different. We all need a kind word and a hug sometimes. We as adults need a place where we feel safe, loved and understood too. This is when we go back to childhood memories and get the strength to believe we can go on and be okay. Mr Rodgers understood.

  • Having not grown up with Mr Rogers, and having been born at a much later time then when he aired, its impossible for me to say that he had as much an impact on me as most others here.

However, i can safely say that although i never knew him i do know this much about him i believe that if every single person on this planet was to be like Mr. Rogers then we wouldn't need heaven...because we would already be there.

  • @infernai you gotta be under 13 because he was on until almost 2002

  • @Jsd8675 I'm actually eighteen, but...well i lived in a country which didn't broadcast Mr.Rogers so...yeah. That's why i wasn't able to watch him.

  • i wish i could be like this man..he more than a man realy but thats bescide the point. i am a protector i have learned and practiced all my life so that i can protect the ones i love. but some times that means hurting people.im crying because i know Mr. Rogers would be ashemed of me....can some one cheer me up or try to tell me im rong

  • @Dominik047

We are all of us special, and no matter what you could do in this world or the next, Mr. Rogers will always be proud of you, and always think that you're fine just the way you are.

  • This will probably be the most insane thing I'll ever say, but I don't care; If Jesus is at the right had of God, Mr Rogers is on the left.

  • Just his voice is very soothing. Calms me right down on even the worst of days.

  • A great man. That's all that needs to be said.

  • I cried.

  • I cant even believe that 1 person would dislike this clip. I feel sorry for them.

  • @Bluevetteboy2012 Just a troll. Youth, eh?

  • One person so far disliked this video. And that's just fine. Mr. Rogers loves them anyway.

  • I miss you Mr. Rogers. I hope God remembered your favorite red sweater and your tennis shoes.

  • i remember i would be home alone by myself watchin mr. rogers....and even when i felt i had no friends. I felt that mr. rogers was : (

  • Anyone who can tell me with a straight face that they hate or do not at least respect Mr. Rogers is a terrible human being.

No joke, no "Fuck you lol", no anger. They are simply an empty, sad human being.

This man is the good in all of us.

  • Damn it...

    I said no tears...

    No...tears....

  • I'm not crying. Really...there's dust in my eye...not crying...

    Nope.

  • God Bless Mr. Rogers.

  • I'd like to become half the man Mr. Rogers was.

  • This is a good video, but...how exactly is it a goodbye?

  • @TaymonB I believe this is the last televised show Mr. Rogers ever made.

  • @TaymonB He dies later on.

  • Which faggot disliked this?

  • @ClownVonDavid

Doesn't matter. Mr. Rogers would just give them a pat and a smile regardless.

  • @ClownVonDavid

It doesn't matter. Just let him be, whoever he is.

  • @LinkinShinoda244 if you have IO tv... his show is still on 131- which is pbs... :D

  • I'm sorry I failed you, Mr. Rogers. :(

  • @KYTD You only fail when you refuse to get up again. Failing is part of the game. It's a necessity to know what the value of winning and persistence stands for. Anything that you feel has a chance of happening can always happen. Some things are impossible, but not all things. It's never to late to get up and dust yourself off. (=

  • thank you mr rogers. we love you. thank you for accepting us as we are :)

  • Thank you for being my "neighbour" and for liking me, just for me being myself.

  • anyone who dislikes this has no soul

  • @BrutticusForce Two people, it seems; Satan and Bill O'Reilly

  • @BrutticusForce Don't worry; we still like 'em just the way they are.

  • what beautiful messages he told us.

This man had a beautiful heart and mind.

  • Man, what a good guy. He resembles the G-man from Half-Life 2 in the way he talks, which makes it even better, ha. RIP, my friend.

  • Did this air on PBS? If so, was it after the last episode of Mister Roger's Neighborhood?

  • growing up....i didnt really have too many friends. but with mr. rogers, even when i was home alone. i felt like i had one. thank you mr. rogers

  • why did he have to leave us?? God Bless Him!! I think he did this interview, because he probably knew his time was almost up. R.I.P my good neighbor!!

  • I miss him and his show :'(

  • omg,,,,,,,,fred rogers is a saint. he always had a way to touch a person's soul. and make them feel like they are worth something. god's speed mister rogers.

  • bless you Mr. Rogers

  • Mister Rogers made being yourself ok. He is still my hero. My little ones know him trough my wife and I and via old video tapes. I wear lab coat at work and look like a dork/geek in it at times. But I'm ok with that because Fred said that it was ok to be just the way you are. Mister Rogers, thank you very very much.

  • WORST... DAY... EVER :(

  • Damn.... I'm choked up and my wife is crying.

We both watched him as kids and we are realizing now that the morals we have instilled in our own kids have been derived from the way we felt while watching him over thirty years ago.

There will never be another Mr. Rogers.

  • @ibxncgc Well said!

  • @ibxncgc

oh man, im definitley not the nicest person in the world, and ive some some messed up sh!t in my life, but i'm crying like a lil girl right now watching this. i grew up w mister rogers, and i regret that i will never be able to see him walking down the street and give him a hug and thank him for his caring & kindness. i only had 1 beer, so it's not the alcohol talking. i am genuinely upset that this loving man is no longer around.

  • he is so missed!

  • wow theres too many satnist on the comments page
