People who see the Northern Lights colours with the naked eye are extremely lucky. I've just returned from Norway and saw the Northern Lights but only as a very pale green and yet viewing them through camera lenses, the same images appeared with very vivd colours. A very strange phenomenon.
i've seen it once. i was skiing with my dad and since he's the time-optimist of the decade we weren't home before darkening. but i'm really glad fore that cuz when i was supertired and freezing out of my mind the whole sky turn red and green and i though: man i'm dying. but my mind was just being blown.
I was in Abisko last week, and the aurora that I saw on February 1st was breathtaking...unfortunately my camera didn't work at -26C :( ....thanks for unloading!
I really really want to see the Northern Lights. I even had a trip planned to Sweden this winter specifically to see them. Unfortunately, I'm crippled =[
Well I live in ill. Never seen them. This upcoming week though I'm going to Canada! Its for boy scouts. My dad looked on a map of the site. He says theres a mountain nearby the site. I've never seen a mountain before! Yet were going up it!!! Its 2000 ft tall! He says it'll be EASY! to see the auroras from the top! I'll talk about my time there! Wish me luck! O and it'll take over a week. Long trip!
@XysflightchampX 2000ft... not very high ;p . i go every year to the alpes and im always on an AVERAGE altitude of 2000m! not very high too but of coarse a lot higher tan 2000ft xD
hahaha we've got pretty much the same things-to-do-in-life list... although I've been lucky enough to see northern lights a couple of times already :D
Kl, I am only 15 so I've got a little time to wait until I go to amsterdam and get shrooms :L. I havent seen the northern lights its one i thing i would love to see and go see Muse is my ultimate dream :L.
@ryanjnufc How about see Muse live in Norway, while the northern lights are going, and on mushrooms. I think my head my literally explode if that happened.
Simply put, I must see this in person... This is definetly something I must put on my "bucket list." Maybe bring a little of my own northern lights too, lol. Beauitful...
I have seen the Northern lights (Aurora Borealis) from Northern Michigan, very beautiful and impressive. I hear the Southern Lights (Aurora Australias are beautiful too.
ive seen the northern lights. the colors were blue and purple ayt that time. some green went int here. i could see some stars behind it too... the most beautiful thing ive ever seen. its trippy too when u lay on ur back & stare stright up.
Thank you for posting this! It reminds me of home, In Saskatchewan Canada....I grew witnessing this my entire life and it never ceases to make me stop in awe and wonder.
I'm going to Iceland (in a hotel just outside Reykjavík) this winter. How big are my chances of catching a glimpse of the lights? I wish I get to see one...
I live in Sweden and I only remember seeing it a couple of times in my life (I'm only 18 but anyway)!
Iceland is more to the north than where I live in Sweden, so maybe Northern Lights are more common there, but I don't think your chances are that big :(
I just heard yesterday Iceland is off, so I will have to wait yet longer before I'll see them. Though my dad says he has seen them once in the Netherlands (were I'm from). Guess you have to be very lucky.
But thanks a lot for answering! I'm jealous of you, you saw them, if only a couple times :).
@DenAndra90 Actually, Abisko in nothern Sweden is known to be the best place in the world to watch northern lights. At least according to STF (Svenska Turistföreningen).
me and my family love it...see only 1 time in my life these amazing lights...here in europe we will never see it life...i was in canada (alberta)when i saw the lights and a sundog. and both are amazing. how about nice background music for your great video ? :)
WOW!!! AMAZING!! Twenty stars if I could give you that many!! Fantastic vid; would LOVE to see Aurora's Dance for myself (in Alaska or Scandinavia; have seen 'em here in Texas and in my former home in Ohio, where I was born; nothing like what they see in Canada, Alaska, or Scandinavia)!! Well done!
@meningentingfungerar ive never seen northern lights and i dont think i ever will! so i can scream ALL I WANT aAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I SCREAMED!!!
thats one of the best northern light vids i have seen. im spending a year in europe traveling around and working. i went to lapland in finland early november last year to try and see them but i missed out. :(
