Hi, Im glad that you wouldnt consider your self a teacher after three years of training. the course is not for a student to become a teacher in capoeira nor have the experiance of a Mestre. This course is a sports coaching course ,government accredited which offers Capoeira as one subject within 72 sports coaching units within three years of study. Its a bit like University were you can chose to study an elective within your major.
I hope this clarifies some of your thoughts about this course.
this is just turning capoeira into a buisness, just another way to make money from teaching it, i also cant see how the qualification gained is of any value in the real world, as in getting a job with it
Whats even more amusing is that the guy in the video does the movement right the 1st time, 2nd time round he moves to not hit the pole, stuffs up the movement and then spins on his foot while his on the floor.
Nicely made video but 18 months to be on the pathway to become a Capoeira coach? doesn't that seems a little bit quick for an artform that takes more than a lifetime to master?
A famous capoeira quote comes to mind:
"It takes a lifetime to learn capoeira and you can never learn it all."
Thank you. Yes 18 months is way to early to even start the pathway of becoming a capoeira coach. it's true what Mestre Joao Grande said. i Mean i'm not a mestre but always willing to learn.
The course is studied fulltime 20 hours per week for a period of 3 years. Cert II is 6 month, Cert III is 1 year and for Cert IV is 18 month. All students must start from cert II... We have realized that the end is a bit confussing but we will change it soon. Thank for your feedback. Abraco e muito axe...
Not enough time to become a teacher. Most schools want you to put a min of 20 years to become a Mestre and teach for a min of 10 years first. I cant see how this certification holds its weight in the Capoeira community.
For the price your better off living in Brazil and training with the worlds best. not in Surry Hills LOL
Nicely executed and marketed though... RIGHT HERE ... RIGHT NOW!!!!
True. I agree. but after three years the student does not become a teacher nor a mestre. the student will have some basic knowledge of how to start the pathway in becoming a Capoeirista. Much better then learning with some of the so called Capoeira teachers who teach in a foreign country.
Its good to know that you guys are not disillusioning the concept of becoming a teacher. This is good.
I differ with you about learning in brazil, only after training capoeira in its home soil do you begin to understand what capoeira is, the history and impact it had served on the brazillian people, you cant find this in Australia unfortunately (i wish we could but its not the same)
Great Video, I came across a site that helps get your videos exposed. They helped 5 of my videos get ranked on the first page. If you need any help check them out at tubeviews.(net)
