Nice vid, you are an inspiration and I am always posting your vids on my FB. Ignore the negativity from the jack asses, I got mad respect to you, found you by Strength Project.
@JackTheGripper1985 Wow this is an interview, how do you figure it's "GHETTO" also, I do have a very in detail instructional, but i think you're judging by the color of my skin. farther more, please explain where in this "INTERVIEW" video you get "GHETTO" ??? Oh by the way, this interview was done by MARK CUBAN'S staff for his network, in case you don't know who he is, Mark Cuban OWNS the basketbal team Dallas Mavericks. So please explain to us where you see "ghetto" in this interview ???
this is old style strenght training. allmost everybody thinks bodyweight training is only for muscle endurance but it is one of the best ways to gain functional strenght. great video.
@5graffitiartist5 check out my website for my dvds, i have an instructional as well that teahces from beginner to advance stages of this. visit my website for dvds.
calisthenics actually does build size.no where near the way weights do it but u do pull ups and push ups over a period of time you will see ur muscle size increase
@8orikua nope you can build mass with calisthenics only no protein mo weights, i mean GOT DAMN PEOPLE do some research on calisthenics, and you'll see that hit isn't lying there are plenty of articles discussin the debate of calisthenics vs weights
@wubs23 its all about repetition, i know of a guy who does only calisthenics but his routine is intense and hard, 1000 reps for most of his excercises and he's bigger nad way more ripped then all the dudes at the gym pumping iron
@wubs23 With progressions it easy to increase the weight and difficultly of a technique. For example, regular squats, then jump squats, then pistol squats, plyo pistol squats.
Amazing. Mr. Richards, do you work out your entire body each workout or do you do a split? Can you recommend a routine or give any advice on routine to an intermediate/beginner? Thanks!
nobody can give you a routine for you over internet. ppl will say "hear on your body" and thats the correct answer...
i think people like HIT are training all over the day, every day, but they increased the amount of their training over years (HIT is training 16 years now i've read)...
@calisthenicskingz , Great one, thats real impressive, I did not know you could achive such mass with cals, I thought it would be done with weights!! wow, good luck in your training, I assume you did, but I was wrong. Thanks dude.
this video is not BSing; my senior year of high school I gave up weight training in favor of cals, did 2 hours of cals every day, okay, not every day, roughly 4 days a week and in only 2 months time, pretty soon I was strong enough to do hand stand push ups. No..... cals builds up strength pretty fast.
I personally prefer Charles Atlas chair dips, or whatever variation.
Youre absolutly right man, i stopped gym for 2 weeks had a break and started calisthenics and quit gym for good
In two months i wal also doing hanf stand and can do handstand pushups my abs are better with less work and my body is better and i am 100000 times stronger.
haven't done it for 2 months yet so I don't know, and I won't get a chance to either, at least not 2 months straight, every day like Atlas instructs.
I personally think it works though, for a very good reason; high level college wrestlers are generally muscular, and they only "resistance" they get, is the other guy. In many ways, Atlas dynamic tension, works much the same way as wrestling.
the reason wrestlers are muscular, at least the top guys who do it a lot, has to do with the fact that wrestling operates on the same principles advocated by Charles Atlas.
Well before the Atlas system was invented, wrestlers were doing "dynamic tension," at least against each other. Wrestling is a very well known strength developer, problem is, it does not specifically target muscles.
I am rather new to this fitness phenomenon, but it looks like a number of groups - the Harlem Seals, Constellation, the Bartendaz, and this group - have sprung up. Are they all in New York, and are they connected? Anyway, I like this guy. He has, for lack of better words, an angelic, immortal physique and a winning attitude worthy of it. I can see him and his ilk helping to inspire truly health living in inner-city America, let alone, perhaps in time and given growth and positive
just when i thought i was the most craziest full in the gym i see this guys omg!! anyways my calisthenics is 400 push ups,400 sit ups,100 pulls ups and 100 dips ..which is my current workout..and a 2km swim after that just to get a good long burn ..
This is all fine and dandy, but I wanna see how you worked your way up to doing those. Does the dvd indulge in that subject? If so, how do I get my hands on one?
you can supposedly get the DVD at Target or Best Buy (sucks) or something. If you go to the calesthenics Kingz website and go to products, they have a list of sites you can buy it from.
man i have to say u have inspired me to workout more, expectually with my own body weight. There is one thing i always wanted to know though, how do u work out deltoids with your own body weight? i know how to work everything else, but i can't seem to figure out traps and deltoids. i would love to buy your dvd...but 3 week wait is too long for me if you could show or explain i would greatly appreciate it
handstand pushups and tiger bend/scorpion pushups for deltoids. pretty much any kind of pushup or pullup works delts, too. handstands with your hands close together and walking on your hands for traps.

Boxers use callesthenics mostly...Tyson did,a much better body than a pumped up gym freak body anyday!
.Great results are a mixture of exercise and great genetics/body type.
Got to train callesthenics hard though...don't cruise!

Those muscles look like they have been pumped up with weights, calisthenics would not build that big muscles. OR NOT?? I am wrong?

@comradesbl yes you are absolutely WRONG, i did not use weights to get my mass strictly calisthenics.

the charles atlas system is a hybrid of cals and body isometrics.
If I had to call dynamic tension something, it would be "body isometrics."
that whole "angle" thing is a myth; however it is better to do isometrics against your own body, than an imovable surface.
the reason the atlas system is not true isometrics, is because the resisting limb, can never provide 100% resistance, there is some "give."
stardingo747 2 years ago

do they mean core muscle or mentally
