  • I think that the 3d graphics won't help the game and are an unnecessary luxury. I haven't seen the whole game yet so I can't judge properly, but it seems to me that 2d graphics was the way to go. 3d doesn't look so real and it may detract from the atmosphere of the game in the same way as the 2d graphics enhanced the atmosphere of its predecessor(which is the best game I've ever played).

  • I think K is Seven because of his amnesia, but this could be what the developers want us to think.

    K = 7th letter of the alphabet :D

  • @grimTales1 True, however, if you consider hexadecimal and extend it to the letter K = 20, the digital root of 20 is 2, corresponding to Snake. While hexadecimal doesn't use K, it was used in the Librascope LGP-30 which was an early representation of the current hexadecimal system. Of course, that's a bit of a stretch.

It may also be the robot's controller is acting as the role of a receiver in a separate facility, meaning the robot is a shell. It is the year ~2030'ish, after all.

  • All I can say is, please come to Europe. I know the Vita is region free, but IMO it seems a pain having to get a Vita for just 1 game, and Aksys dont have a European arm so won't publish for the UK. Someone else has to... could they just use Aksys' script/translation and everything?

  • @grimTales1

Your best bet is to contact publishers who have had experience with this (I believe you guys had Koei Europe do a lot of this) and try to convince them that there is a demand for these kinds of games. Otherwise, good luck.

  • American title is out. Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward

  • @Aworthlessaccount Fuck that shit, I want my crazy fucking jap title.

  • I'd be more excited about this if they didn't drop the ball on the ending to 999 so thoroughly. After several straight hours of powering through to the end I was completely unimpressed with the true ending.

  • Seems like Clover got kidnapped on the way to a Gurren Lagann cosplay convention.

Too bad they didn't get Snake too. I bet he makes a good Kamina.

  • @CheesyGranola I personally think they did get Snake. I'm just theorizing, but K might be Snake. He emerges from the same cell as Clover. He protected Clover from whatever happened in the cell. In the anime promo, K playfully shuts his robotic eyes in a similar fashion, as Snake would. Then in the Clover flash mini-game, a picture of K pops up hiding Clover's exposed breasts while K looks embarrassed.

Of course, maybe this is what the developers want me to think.

  • FInally, a deciding reason for me to get a ds :)

  • I will so iport this if you can play US 3DS games on a PAL one from Germany! I played 999 just now and it was really thrilling and exciting! Great game! (-^.=.^-)

  • @MarcMarioMaster *import

  • I wonder if Junpei or Akane will make a cameo here. Since Alice and CLover are in it, it looks likely. I dodn't like the way 999 ended, leaving Akene and Junpei apart, and a "Junpei will search for Akene for the rest of his life" won't cut it.

  • Yes, I'm ready for another mind-fuck!

  • I just finished playing this game.

    THIS GAME IS EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!

The story and the system are far more better than 999!!

  • clover, as slutty as ever

  • You GATTA love a good mystery! :D

  • is that alice with them?

  • @himitsu333 Yes.

  • I can't wait for this to come out - it must be a lot of translating for Aksys to do. Will they be using subtitles and localising the text?

  • Just like the movie "9 Dead" Look it up and thumbs up if agreed.

  • Nintendo Power confirmed it's coming to North America by the end of the year.

  • Ocarine of Time 3D, SMT Persona, Tales of the Abyss, and now a 999 sequel... I MUST BUY A 3DS

  • ok is this game out today becuase my gamestop cant find it?

  • @Soma81 It's out.....in Japan.

  • @t5gnyaborar i know they need to bring it over here NOW:)

  • @Soma81 Definitely xD

  • @Soma81 This game just got released in Japan yesterday. It won't be out in the US for months, more than likely.

  • @CheesyGranola I've heard its down for a release at the end of the year/this winter.

  • Holy crap Morphogenic fields between humans was Physics bending enough (Telepathic communications across space and universes) but now they are adding Schrödinger's cat as well and "I will be You, You will be Me" which ties into Schrödinger's theories... and the Chinese Room theories and the Rules of Robotics, Atom Splitting, Prisoner's Dilemma, and Carbuncle of the Sun the Green Lion. I seriously fear for the unlearned... and the Translators... Should their be any.

  • It looks like Saw but better...

  • Comment removed

  • ZOMFG!!!...lots of games came for 3DS...I said "it doesn't worth..."....NOW IT IS!!!

  • I just wonder wtf is Alice doing there a long with how much time has passed since the first game..clover seems to have matured and took style advise from Yoko of Gurren Lagann.

  • @hershyrock I heard a year has passed since 999 but Clover does look some years older :o

  • @grimTales1 Right?? Even though she was 18 in the first game she looked like she was 12..but now she's 19 and looks her age I suppose.

  • @hershyrock Yeah, she did look disturbingly young in the first game :o I guess, at least she looks her age now.

  • Why wouldnt there be a True Ending? How would we know which one is "right"? Maybe not all of them are full endings like 999 had. Not long now til its out in Japan, so I live in hope of localisation (and the game being made Region Free). I'm not sure I want to buy one console (the Vita) JUST for this game.

  • I recently played 999 and I love it and I'm sure I'll love this one too!!!

  • From what I hear, they stepped up the number of endings from 6 to 24. Twenty four.

    DAAAAAAAMN,

I'm gonna' have so much fun playing this once it releases!

  • anyone know where i can find this song o.o

  • I AM PISSED. apparently they have no plans to localize this. fuckin bullshit. im uploading a video about this shit too

  • @gamereviewsss I've been wondering that, I wonder if its because they just havent started talking to anyone yet and want to wait til its out in Japan first? As far as I can see, it would be pure madness NOT to localise this, considering how well 999 did in the West compared to Japan. They know the demand is there, the split of Westerners-Japanese looking at the GPD website is something like 70-30!

  • @grimTales1 yea man exactly:! i just put up a video about localization. and the game sold 170,000 in north america, and only 30,000 in japan

  • Every time I see the Costa Concordia on the news, it reminds me of 999..

  • The 2D characters looked more realistic. Even so, I'm crazy enough for the first game to buy a whole new handheld and get this game when it comes out!

  • Ewww...3D characters....I like 2D with 3D background.....so pretty that way

  • I really really hope that it will come out in 2d too ;x

  • I can't stop hearing the initial voice "Mina-san, gameni gojionoko kudasai." I don't know write japanese but it's what I heared xD

  • Well, I guess Clover turned into a whore.

  • Lol anyone else whoa when that girl tried to stab herself? lol...

  • @standerd101 That was Alice too! D:

  • TT^TT

why couldnt this stay on the reg. o' ds...

  • @lotusangelXD wouldn't have been able to do the 3d eviorment and 3d models right

  • GUYS Aksys Games HAS NO PLANS TO LOCALIZE THIS GAME TO AMERICA!!!!!!! this is not a joke! this is a real claim from an employee! THUMS ME UP SO PEOPLE CAN SEE AND TRY NO GET THE GAME HERE!!

  • I absolutely enjoyed every bit of 9 hours, 9 doors, 9 persons. What captivated me was mostly it's dark, witty, mature setting that it took place in. I had always yearned to know more about the characters and seemed to have a connection as to what they were going through, trying to find the truth. Hopefully they don't water down the language or make puzzles easier for the sake of trying to get wider audience, because it would totally ruin this next game, which is definately on my wish list :).

  • It looks like Star Ocean 3. THIS IS NOT A GOOD THING.

  • Is the PSV Region locked? If not, then I have officially found my reason to buy a PSV!

  • @MegaRandomcrap123 no its not its sony

  • My first reaction to the 3D sprites was definitely negative. They seem sort of oddly rounded, or something... but I'm definitely impressed by the snippets of animation here!

  • Can't wait! The developers said that there would be 24 DIFFERENT ENDINGS! That's amazing! Also games like this are always good :)

  • @standerd101 whoa.. 24?!??! O.O that's alot more than the first game!! O.O

    so many choices ><

  • @standerd101 so much death

  • @standerd101 shoot thats a lot, with that many endings i wonder if there will even be a true ending.

  • @FreeRunful I also thought about that. I doubt there's gonna be a true ending. Im interested in seeing all the outcomes for those endings.

  • @standerd101 yeah, u bet theres one where you die at the very beginnnig for choosing corroperating to much.

  • not really digging the look of the game, but hopefully the plot and gameplay will be at least as good. goddamn the devs are mean to clover though, this is her third nonary game!

  • i need to get a fuckin 3ds now!!!!!!!!!!! sorry dear ps vitaI ps vita, will have to be another day ;_;

  • @jdemonp It comes out for the PS Vita as well. You can buy the vita and still play the game. I'd still suggest getting the 3DS as good games will be coming out later, but they don't come out quite yet. So I'd wait on the 3DS, and buy the vita first, and if your good at saving money, you'll have enough money to buy the 3DS when all the good games come out for it.

  • *hears music

    Gah!

    UNGH!

Ah hell yeah, I cant wait to ham it up again with a set of all new characters. I'm to play this as a nocturnal drone again, relapsing in psychological security, as I seize from the terror of mid-day shadows. And if there was one thing that is certain, I'm going to bone up my first playthrough. And then I'm gonna have skim through all that juicy text until volition reemerges in its gameplay! YES

I effin love that there was enough support for this to be made!

  • @BeastOfTheEast07 On my first playthrough of the original 999, I got the coffin ending. I guess I'm just lucky, but when it said "to be continued..." I was thinking WTF is this ending. I then looked it up, and found out I had to do the safe ending. I did that, and redid the true ending. I didn't get a bad ending at all.

  • @TheMegasword123 I did the same, except I didn't look it up. I thought I did something wrong, until I got the other 4 endings and tried the coffin one a second time.

  • i kind of liked the first trailer more...

  • WHY 3D SPRITES

    0:59 LOOKS FUCKING STUPID

  • 0:27 IT'S THE FUNYARINPA!!! :O

  • Betrayal. Definitely betrayal.

  • 3D looks stupid and not creepy enough like the first one

  • Before you take that option to betray Clover, you should axe yourself if that's wise.

  • Comment removed

  • @CheesyGranola priceless... You just made my day dude

  • @CheesyGranola im going to betray her anyway for what she did in the one timeline

  • @CheesyGranola i see what you did thar!

  • cool that this is coming to vita. I agree, the 3D-Animation doesn´t look so good, but maybe its just eyecandy like the CGI Trailers for most games.

BTW: Is he really called Zero III ? (0+3= Not enough to pass a door) and is he...a rabbit ??

  • cool that this is coming to vita. I agree, the 3D-Animation doesn´t look so good, but maybe its just eyecandy like the CGI Trailers for most games.

  • JUST TAKE MY MONEY AND GIVE ME THE GAME!!!

  • Definitely hopes that this game comes to the US. Loved the first game!

  • So could someone tell me the full order of these series? I am really interested to start them and I don't want to mess up the experience.

  • @darklovewishes

    I'll give you two hints:

1)There are two games, 999 and this one.

2)The one on the video has not yet been released

  • Please come to Europe!

This can't live up tot he last one. :( and the 3D was a mistake. they really should have kept to animation. : / They won't be bale to make the characters as expressive :(

  • @Dyv4bkz Nice way to be positive about the situation.

  • They need a freaking voice-over for the opening of this in Japanese. Especially in Japanese. How those people make their voice sound awesome, I don't know.

  • Most anticipated game of 2012 for me.. PL vs AA looks good, but this is going to be incredible. Had to import 999 from the States, not even sold in the UK, travesty... :/

  • To be honest, I don't know if the "real" Zero will be the Zero from the first game or not.. in a way it could be a let down if it is. We don't know who it will be.

  • @grimTales1 Most probably won't be the same person. Zero already accomplished what he intended to do in the first game. If Zero III really turns out to be the same as the previous game, then he must be freaking bored. -_-

  • Fucking fuck fuck I am so excited for this @_@

  • I am going to play the living SHIT out of this game.

  • I'm so fucking curious what the hell the robot is.

  • @gayluigipower some kind of new zero

  • @WREQUIEM No, to answer your questions the robot is a character, he was supposidly knocked out like all the rest, and when he awoke he was in the suit. Zero is the original zero from the first game, not sure if its akane or the one that set it up the first time, The characters of this game are all counter parts of the first, except for clover. Sigma is the protagonist and is a college student just like junpei from the first game, so i can only infer he has the number 5 bracelet.

  • @ConnorMacleod420 MIND BLOWN

  • My biggest questions:

    Why is Clover there?

    Why is Alice there?

Why does Phi sometimes show hesitation and knowledge?

How can there be virtual reality like rabbit only 1 year after the first Nonary Game.

Hm... =3= GOD I can't wait to play this!

  • phi looks like a female version of santa

  • 0:22 I actually took this from a comment in Japanese but it's important to note that it isn't written with kanji so it could be read as "They should all die instead" OR "They should all trust in each other instead".

  • June... I Will Find You!

  • Please kill me or teach me Japanese!!!

  • OMG they keep their promise, cant wait for US version of this 999 sequel!!!

  • We need this internationally

  • The main character's name is Sigma. Sigma is the eighteenth letter in the Greek Alphabet.

    18

    1+8=9

I think his code number is 9, meaning the player can go into any door with a group of people without changing their digital root.

  • @Dialgadude Too bad it seems like digital roots are not at play in here, since the "Ambidex" version supposedly has the participants wear bracelets, which shows the number of points the wearer has. The goal is to get 9 or more points. If your points end up being zero or less, you die. Each participant starts with 3 points (my guess from the promo anime trailer).

You explore places in pairs, and you can choose to betray one another. You're given points depending on what both of you choose.

  • @MrPoniator They could still find a way to incorporate digital roots into the puzzles :P

I sincerely hope digital roots make a comeback somehow, since I have been obsessed with them since 999...

I swear, if this doesn't come state-side, I will learn Japanese and import this, and brute-force hack my 3DS to allow region-free, or get a Vita.

  • @Dialgadude as far as we know, the Ambidex version works in an entirely different way than the original version of the Nonary Game. The players do not have only a number through all the game, but they can obtain or lose points. If they manage to gain 9 points, they can escape, if they reach 0 points... well, they will go BOOM. So, everyone can be a 9, this time (if they don't kill each other, obviously).

  • @KyrieFortune and so this story will be even more confusing.. ugh... but at least when you understand everything, you enjoy the game the most.

  • @KyrieFortune Keep in mind that I read about the characters and made an assumption before I read about the game's mechanics. If this game followed the previous game similarly, I'd have no doubt Sigma would have the 9th bracelet.

But that's not the case since this game follows different rules.

  • If this gets a North American release I seriously will consider getting a 3DS or Vita O_O,

  • @zHILLP it most likely will get a north american release someday seeing that its "prequel" or just similiar games 999 (9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors) did :P btw if you have a DS,DSi, or 3DS that is a must have game :D

  • can't wait for the us version, but they should have kept the 2D sprits

  • @Supersupee

yeah I agree that they should have kept the sprites, but the new style is already growing on me. I'm just happy there is a sequel :D

  • @Supersupee I agree. Added more to the imagination and wasn't distracting me while I played.

  • @Supersupee nah its kinda cool this way

  • @Supersupee I think they did it to make it more realistic and gory.

  • @ I for one kinda like these 3D models :3 but your right; I'm so gonna buy this game x3

  • is this being released in North America?

  • @natedoggcata Yes, the first one did well in USA. So, they will bring this one over.

  • Thumbs up if you paused at 0:53. Also, is it just me or is one of my videos at the top of the suggestion box.

  • yeah cant wait for it *o* the first one was just epic... the 2d design was really pretty too. and the puzzles and dialogs were just epic, it made me think suspicious to some of them xD hope this will have about 9 or 10 endings (zero)...

    sorry for my bad english

  • i cant wait for this to coem out im goign to reserve it tonight

  • I loved the first one, kind of wish they kept the 2d art, but you can tell with the 3d, this is going to be major gory. Hope its just as confusing as 999

  • Comment removed

  • Poor Clover, she just keeps getting sucked into the game. XD

  • The kid is TEN years old. Someone may kill a ten year old.

  • I'm on the fence about the 3D art style. But from what I can see in 0:44 it looks like it'll allow for some more suspenseful scenes and events.

  • Am I then only one that saw Allice?

  • The voice at the start sounds even more sinister now my speakers have an echoey effect.... :o

  • Clover went from being 18 and looking 14 to looking 18

  • I love how the song in this trailer managed to add some tunes from Morphogenetic Sorrow.

    I'm getting teary eyed now.

  • At 1:16 it shows K (the robot guy) typing into the Zero III Rabbits head. I wonder what that means?

  • IS that really Clover!?

  • Mu first time trolling! :D

  • @Hikarianotsuki

do better next time! it was pretty obvious.

  • @teacuppu Yeah, I figured as much. anyway, I really do think junpei is zero. It just feels right.... Or maybe Qualk or Clover!

  • @Hikarianotsuki

I think Clover is Zero.. or at least have some connection to Zero.

It's pretty suspicious for her to be in nonary game a 3rd time isn't it. =w=

Something I found out recently: the robot (K) who resembles Seven... also has amnesia, just like Seven did in the first game. Also suspicious!

  • @teacuppu If you count the speculated Lord Gordain one and not the Egyptian ones, This is actually the 4th Nonary game. If you think of Zero III as the 3rd and True Zero as the 4th that makes her [Zero IV]! [4] Leaved clover, [4] Bracelet.... Clover=4/ 4=clover/4=IV thereof [4] = [0] Clover = Zero....

  • @Hikarianotsuki

It's also been confirmed that "[Zero III] gets its instructions from "the true Zero", who appears to be one of the 9 players."

If the True Zero is one of the 9 players, we know it isn't Junpei.

It has to be Clover. Seriously.

  • @Hikarianotsuki :O!

And remember Clover also surmised Zero was one of the group in 999. And she was right.

Does she know something we don't?

  • @Hikarianotsuki Heh. I had a feeling that Junpei was a part of it. 2 people in it look like Akane a BIT but the other guy looks like Junpei ALOT. Man I can't wait for this game to come out.

  • my only concern is what the character's personalities would be like. The ones in 999 were so believeable and almost real to an extent that i was sucked in, i felt like I was Junpei (it helped that i had my hair cut kinda like his and I during grade school my best friend was a girl)

  • I giggled during this!

  • Man, I loved the first game. I got so drawn in, feels like I was trapped on that boat.

I hope they do another preorder bonus for this game, since I wasn't able to get the watch for the original.

  • Y U NO release for old DS ??????

  • please be released in europe

  • @cham608

    I second that.

  • the 3d ruins everything!!its too colorful

  • SO EXCITED. <3 I'm really interested in Allice's story (from the first game).

  • I dunno, I think the 3D look has potential. Change is good, people!

  • Sequel! YES!!!

    But wow, all new characters?

I hope there will still be connected ties between the two games, tho!

  • @Bowsakirby

Atleast 2 returning characters, Clover and Zero.

  • @relo999 you forgot Allice...

  • @relo999 Probably not the same Zero, though. That'd be too easy. >_>

Also, I know one thing for sure. Clover isn't hiding an axe in that outfit.

  • @CyricZ I think the same Zero as not much people do such a thing. As there are just some many people who let people play psychopathic death games where the survivors may have some psychological problems picked up on the way on survival.

  • Does anyone else love this music? I love the range from pretty melodies to dank horror beats. Brings back fond memories of the original and gets me pumped as shit to play this.

  • I LOVE THIS FUCKING GAME

  • No of likes:

    2+9+7 = 18

    1 +8 = 9

  • @grimTales1 I loved solving those puzzles

  • @dkmariolink Which ones do you mean?

  • @grimTales1 The Digital Root XD
