I hate that we don't have a whole foods store, though they are building one.... i think i've seen quinoa at one of our grocery stores though. will have to probably find chia seeds on the internet
Great Video fellow Sarah :) What's your take on raw vegan desserts, yay or nay..? Cacao ? Agave? lots of nuts? I feel like agave isn't beneficial for me atm! I am sure i need to up the good guys in my gut, so going to attempt to make some raw sauerkraut! I rarely remember to soak my nut either so I know that's not great, I love chia seeds and Quinoa salad, quinoa salad is my favourite, I can feel my body loving it whilst i'm eating it! Love your vid's as i'm also a fellow yoga lover. <3
@SarahsHolisticHealth Thank you Sarah! I have an (unhealthy) obsession with chocolate all my life, and I've found that raw vegan desserts keep me sane. I posted a recipe on my blog a while back that was raw chocolate mousse, made with basically agave, dates, raw cocao, and avocados. It's divine! I don't eat nuts much anymore, I find them to be hard on my gi tract but soaked ones I'll do in recipes. I'm going to check out your channel now! Seems like we're into the same stuff :)
@SarahBethShow I <3 chocolate! I can totally agree. I'll be watching out for more vid's! My channel is in umm... transition, as I am :) Have a great day x
@SarahBethShow Im very wary of BPA. Its in everything and is a powerful estrogenic. But thanks for for the chia seed reminder, im going to pick some up and throw them into my gym water bottle.
Found you while tumbling so thought I'd subscribe. Besides the salad recipe, is there anything else you put quinoa in? I sprout it and eat it plain, but dislike the taste. Also, besides the synergy drinks they sell *shudders*,any good non-water raw drinks?
@LHS427 I throw Quinoa in almost every salad I make now. But you can eat it hot with beans, steamed veggies, and dress it with olive oil and some herbs (I like the Braggs seasonsing) You can also eat it hot with some fried up bell peppers and eggs. But I mostly use it to make salads "meatier". For non water drinks, I drink tea and I juice. I totally recommend juicing! It's great for you and you can make some pretty tasty drinks
Never knew you could mix chia seeds with water like that, nice tip. I usually stick with chia seed oil. I think you squeezed out a poop count of 8 or so in about 5 seconds, pretty impressive
@Str8upbrah Carb-fat combinations hasn't been a part of my diet, or "research" in the last 3 years. I do know, however, that when I eat a whole lot of good fats I tend to lose weight. (Like avocados, coconut oil etc.) Let me know if you find some legit information! I'm curious now
@SarahBethShow Hahaha! I haven't really looked into it. I've been just trying to eat what sounds good like you were saying :) It seems like my episodes occur more often when I eat too much sugar like it feels like a hyperglycemic episode, it's scary.
I'm not looking into it so much to lose the Lb's. I'm interested if sugar levels are more stable if they're eaten with fat or does it just clog one up and it sky rocket more.
@Str8upbrah ohhhhhh 80/10/10! I get it... I responded to this in another video comment: "I personally haven't practiced 80/10/10 but my boyfriend says he likes it, but as an athlete it's hard to maintain weight or put on muscle. Typically we don't worry about percentages because once you're in tune with your body you'll be craving healthy foods based on what nutrients you need. And you don't want to ignore your body just because you're trying to keep your fats below 10%"
@lovingvegan I eat it on it's own. Sometimes I'll eat it on flackers/rice crackers. But it's such a unique taste I usually eat it like a supplement. How do you eat it?

Do I just eat the sauerkraut straight or do you put it on salad?
soulfoodforinnerpeac 1 month ago
@soulfoodforinnerpeac You can put it on a salad if you want. I eat it straight like a supplement or on crackers.

Hey Sarah, Do you know of anything about having carbs and fats and if they are good to eat together and all that.
There's so many raw vegans that eat a heavy fat diet and then there's the 811'ers.
I'm new of being 100% vegan and am not sure what's best for me.
Thanks

@SarahBethShow That makes sense. I've been having some weird dizzy spells and it has stopped me from going to school.
The doctors think it's Pheocrhomocytoma. I asked them about diet and they say just eat healthy :)
I hear you about listening to the body. Since I haven't been able to excercise much, I think the heavy carbs would be a bad idea.
I think a lot of salads, mediation, relax and just wait for the medical results would be best.
Thanks Sarah!
