  • This video just proves the "fact" that 47.5 % of people make up statistics on the spot LOL

  • The American experiment worked!!?

    I just cant stop laughing!!

  • If that student lives to be 100 years old, she'll never be smart enough to know how embarrased she should be. There's nothing more embarrasing than an idiot with high self esteem.

  • Christ Almighty, I wish that walking archetype of a young student leftist did not exist...

  • Doesn't Ann use the very fallacy she accuses the audience member of? She says "you're one in a million who doesn't believe that! The world knows Europe is not doing well!"

Didn't she just lecture the audience member for talking about "98% of scientists"

  • @quackman Science is the search for truth about the universe, and isn't a democratic endeavour. One dissenting voice can still be correct, when evidence backs them up.

Politics is a matter of consensus. My libertarian politics stem from my prioritising liberty over other factors. People with different political views prioritise different things. There isn't one 'correct' view. It's a matter of how we weigh up the positives and negatives.

They aren't really comparable in the way you are suggesting.

  • @dalriada842

The fact of whether or not Europe is doing well financially (which is probably what I think she is referring to) isn't a matter of consensus.

  • @quackman Who would say that Europe is doing well apart from the bureaucrats who work for the EU? I believe there is a consensus on this issue amongst most ordinary people. Of course people differ on how they think things should proceed. Some are still behind the European endeavour for political reasons. It is the very weakness of Europe that is propping up the US dollar. The US has big problems of its own, due to deficit spending and increasing indebtedness.

  • @dalriada842

But..... that wasn't what you/I were talking about.

  • @quackman I know! LOL If you read the comment you made, that I replied to, you'll see that you were the one to change the subject. I'm merely 'rolling' with the conversation. ;)

In a democracy, politics are a matter of consensus. Or at least those who disagree abide by the will of the majority.

Evidence can refute a position in science. Politics is more subjective and relies upon consensus and acquiescence by the people.

  • @dalriada842

So Europe's doing well or bad financially is a matter of opinion where the "bureaucrats who work for the EU" are correct also?

  • @quackman It is a matter of opinion, depending upon your priorities. But no the bureaucrats are not correct, in my view. They have a socialist political agenda that they think will make the world a better place. Most people can see that the EU is an economic disaster zone. The tensions being built within it may ultimately tear it apart! You don't require unanimity for a consensus to be reached.

  • @dalriada842

Hmm, ok so you're viewing "financially" in a different, broader sense than I'd meant (rather ambiguously).

  • @quackman

i'd say that the difference is she goes on to state examples that support her declaration (greece nearing default, ireland's financial woes, etc...) as opposed to simply calling the other person an idiot.

  • @wayfarin

Yeah, she definitely doesn't have anywhere near the same attitude or overall strategy as that person in the audience.

  • @quackman 2:41 She basically denies the usefulness of ANY statistic.

  • Just regarding Ann's comment about every scientist agreeing that the earth is flat at one time. This is actually not true, in fact many people had thought and considered it, one man only made the idea popular, who now, centuries later, gets credit for the thought. Secondly every scientist who publishes a finding is subject to peer review, where other scientist attempt to recreate the findings through research and credible methods. I love Ann's energy, but she is factually wrong.

  • @Phill87p I agree with your comment that not everyone thought the Earth was flat. However, as far as peer review and recreating findings are concerned, this doesn't make an hypothesis or theory 'correct'. It is always conditional upon new evidence coming to light, or a better theory being dreamed up to explain the current data. Therefore, one person can be 'right' despite the current consensus. Science moves forward more through dissension than consensus. Otherwise science tends to stagnate!

  • Way to go, Ann. As an Irish Canadian you make me proud. Never surrender!

  • We are so fortunate to have Ann in America trying to shed the light on the truth for America's youth.

  • for everyone who thinks this is a great video... i invite you to check out the EMPTY rows of seats.

  • @christyc463 The empty seats are is because the left refuses to hear opposing views. Especially when the opposing views are backed up with facts

  • Fucking AWSOME!!!

  • I love it

  • Poor girls. It isn't really their fault. They pay for educations at Temple, which I do not want to do for them (especially after seeing this). Didn't she seem so sweet at first, before she started calling names.

  • Oh wow. This should go viral. Good. Gosh.

  • Thank you Ann for speaking the truth! I hope you reach her, or at least planted a seed so that when she wakes up, leaves school finally, and starts to live in the real world, she might make something of herself.

  • Kudos to Ann McElhinney for being more American than that dweeb in the audience.

  • 0:38-0:40 is priceless
