It's amazing to me that there are people across the world who are being persecuted on a daily for the sake of Christ by means of torture and death, yet many in the U.S. have a very shallow faith: a little bit of this here, a little bit of that with some Jesus thrown in. Meanwhile brothers and sisters in other lands are being set on fire and slaughtered because of their precious faith. And not just the natives of those lands, but missionaries who travel there. That's beautiful faith.

I just want to know how these lepers were being helped? I am sorry it had to be a horrible death for these missionaries, but did they bring the gospel to these lepers? Did they heal them of their diseases through the name of Christ?!?! Did God even call these missionaries over there to serve? What is going on church?

I'm a Christian who happens to do a bit of research with Hansen's disease (leprosy). Depending on the form, there are a few things you can do to retard the progression: teach methods of wound care/cleaning and debridement, range of motion, prosthesis-fitting, desensitization of resid. limbs, etc. From experience, though I pray my face off and have faith, God may not heal someone else because I say so. Sometimes priority is placed in bringing the gospel, not a medical cure!

Your statement would be a valid concern if you believe this life is the ultimate. However, if you live your life like Paul states in Phil 1:21 "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain" then whether you live of whether you die, its a win win. The Bible also states in Matthew 10:28 "

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell." Therefore my joy is not set on the "now" but the "then".
