@chipsmcgee Depends if it has IGF, which is okuma's conversational software, you just give it your shape definition and it will write the program for you. You can fine tune from there. This looks like a fairly old machine though, the newer ones with the osp 200 operating system are much more user freindly.
@azorl You would be better playing WOW than writting a bad comment on this video and needless to say that you don't even know what your talking about...
I agree with you bigjimm. anything stiking out that far is gonna chatter. We cut titanium and anything against the bankning wall on the jaws is chattering. All I can say is get the molewheel out. But nice machining nonetheless I wish GE engineers would watch this and see how little they know. But I only run the machine how would I know machining from bird watching.
ofcourse I only have an associate degree in programming and they have a masters so obviously I dont know what I'm talking about. trust me peeps if you fly on a GE built jet engine you are taking your chances. So if you see that swirly mark when the engine turns and you crash dont say I warned ya.
That might be but, a fanuc is sometimes better to use because, some people have no experience in CNC-turning and have to learn it with a Fanuc or another one.
And how to lathe a knight?!

Since ive been working with cnc milling and lathe operating and programing for many years id say i have some knowledge about it .
If you want to defend the workflow here then .. great.
I wouldnt do it like this.

@azorl I think its just meant as a demonstration of what the machine can do.

It's barely making any noise. Armchair youtube critics shouldn't quit their day jobs.

Not Very professional.
Maybe the piece didnt need perfect finish but still.
Any experienced machinist would know that it would chatter like that before even trying.
At the very least change the program afterwards.
thumbs down.

Okuma machine tools best in the world, best cnc control as well, head and shouders above fanuc.
