  • I don't think the issue is commercialism but rather exploitation. There are ads in Time Magazine, The Economist, The News York Times, Wall Street Journal etc. The issue with tabloids are that they make money utilizing the popularity of celebrities. If they published a magazine without pictures no one would buy them. The celebraties are a commodity and are not being compensated. Thats the way to go about this, not railing against capitalism.
