Second, just about any wilderness you care to name has NO tigers left, or any other predators for that matter, because they've all been slaughtered by greedy, thoughtless humans who want their land. This is the kind of cause I find VERY "worthwhile", even if you don't, Mr. Truck Driver.

You can also click on their Contact Us link on the site and leave a message, which I have done. This is another way to reach them, hopefully to convince them not to renew Sandlin's license.

@BanWolfHunting Well I do not have a problem with owning a mounted or "stuffed" endangered animal as long as it was hunted before it was endangered, or if it came from a zoo as in this case, but I am strongly against poaching any type of animal because poachers make real hunters who follow the laws look bad, and poachers cause animals to become endangered so they can no longer be legally hunted. I am a hunter, if you were wondering, but I try to make use of everything off of the animal I take.

The Big Cat Rescue told me they actually had a spot just for Tony at their sanctuary with his own pool and lakeview.But Louisiana Department of Wildlife gave Sandlin another permit allowing him to keep Tony in the terrible,inappropriate environment that hes been confined to for years.What a shame!

I am against using animal skins for any purpose, but it is not appropriate to complain here about ALL the different ways humans abuse nonhumans.

I videoed the tiger for a friend, then posted it here. This tiger was once living in the cage outside the restaurant. The fact that it's now on top of the salad bar is an example of how absurd our attitudes towards animals are. As you can reat in "more info", this truckstop is a totally inappropriate habitat for an endangered big cat.

The stuffed tiger in the glass cage was once living like Tony is now. When he disppeared without mention, he returned stuffed. It's highly likely he was sick, did not get medical treatment, and suffered.

Look around YouTube to see how Tony is living, suffering the same fate. In a concrete cage, with little to no access to fresh water or lush grasses. Toxic fumes, loud noises, no peace, trash thrown at him, no daily enrichment, yet the owner claims he's like family. SAD.

There's a HUGE difference between farming and ranching... so don't even try to lump yourself in with farmers. Farmers raise food--- ranchers buy and sell animals like products (after tearing babies away from their mothers), brand, dehorn and castrate them without any pain relief, truck them to feedlots where they live in the hot sun (or freezing rain) in pools of urine and feces until they're trucked again to slaughterhouses for bloody, callous butchering.

No, of course he can't be released into the wild. But there are sanctuaries that provide safe havens for cats like Tony with lush, green, large habitats, peace and quiet, and other big cats to socialize with (if they haven't been too damaged by human mistreatment for it).

The Big Cat Rescue in Florida is one such sanctuary that has offered to take Tony away from his miserable conditions, but the truckstop owners refuse to surrender him. They care more for the money he brings in than for him.

There is a big difference between domesticated cats and wild tigers.

I live in the woods where there is no traffic and my cats have a kitty-door where they can go outside whenever they want... and they return on their own every day.

I read all the signs outside the tiger truckstop. Anybody can write whatever they want on a sign; it means nothing. The fact that Tony is in a cage by a freeway is undeniable evidence that he is wrongly and cruelly imprisoned. Nothing you say can change that.

YES Selena did belong to tiger truck stop Michael Sandlin and SHE died in the cage in the parking lot. They REFUSED to get her medical help.

You got it journeyman47 born and raised at tiger truck stop sadly....... She was 4 years old when she died. He wanted to only get her head and paws stuffed but was told it would cost the same to stuff her whole body.

Hey, why did she last only 4 years, anyway? The average lifespan of a tiger is 16 to 20 years. I guess the Tiger Truckstop ain't such a great place for big cats after all, in spite of being "part of the family".

I didn't see them when I stopped; I was told they were out of town. But the staff wasn't exactly warm and welcoming.... after I voiced my objections calmly and politely about Tony, I was told to leave.

That's 10-12 tigers through the years of LSU being open not all at the same time....I think they house one at a time. In 2008 I went there and saw one tiger of course named MIKE as were all the rest!

Yes as soon as you enter near the field to the left. He is in a 1 million dollar glass enclosure. Not great for a tiger but 100 times better then what TONY has. Fact is he to deserves much better and much more room to be a tiger.

I'm actually going to college right now in hopes of working with big cats in the future and I stumbled upon this and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It really makes me sad to see where this tiger has been kept, all animals deserve respect, especially those as rare and beautiful as these WILD animals.

PS If you by any chance go to LSU, I hear they keep REAL tigers there too, as mascots. I wish I had had time to video them as well... I wonder what keeping them in captivity teaches all those students about respecting other species?

Truth be known it teaches the kids NOT to respect wildlife but in Louisiana and at LSU they have had I think 10-12 tigers at the college and they refuse to change their ways. The tiger has to be put on PROZAC during the games because they go crazy with all the noise. What a life huh?

Disgusting, and that poor tiger was only 4 years old according to the other video regarding tony the truckstop tiger. I signed the petition to send him to the Sanctuary several times. This really breaks my heart.
