It is difficult to know if these numbers are accurate or not but even if accurate, there are two facts to consider.

1. Accumulation of wealth and power is a core human problem everywhere. With all likelihood, you will do it too. Much of hostility to Ali after Mohammed came because he started taxing the rich. In Iran, this is a major problem as well.
