its not painful is just a bit uncomfortable. the key is relaxing and then pushing down when you feel a slight resistence at the prostate. ive had more pain at the dentist tbh and thats not syaing much as the dentists gum injections dont bother me but i never look as the needle goes in. you get used to ISC despite it looking very strange inserting a long tube inside yourself. im sure it would be easier if a doc or nurse could always be there to do for you so you dont have to look down.
pretty sure you dont get an erection when having to do this. its the last thing on your mind during the cath insertion so even the slightest arousal would be rarer than hens teeths.
pity this video doesnt say what to do if you feel resistance. it refers to the resistance at the sphincter but not at the prostate gland.
god damn...that may be the most unpleasant thing i can think of down there...never mess with your member, i'd never use that unless absolutely necessary...i remember having to use one after surgery, some of the worst pain ever
Number of steps here contradict what I was told, and the video even contradicts itself.
1. I was told to hold the penis horizontal, not curved up. Here it show curved up toward stomach in beginning of video, and at the end of the video shows the penis curved down.
2. Told to stop when urine starts to flow, not continue for several centimeters.
3. No mention of turning cath in circular motion when finishing or standing up.

Good thing he said that thing about washing your thumbs. My thumbs usually stay bone-dry when I wash my hands.

just curious, do they make them smaller or do you just get use to them? I've had to use them before, but it is really painful
