PLEASE be careful when ridiculing players for scoring own-goals. It happened to a guy on the opponent’s team when I was playing in an amateur league a few years ago- we all ran up & ‘congratulated’ him on scoring for us. He was visibly upset by this & the crowd’s jeers & was substituted soon after.

But it all ended horribly when we heard the screams from their dressing room after the game- the poor guy had hung himself in the showers with a piece of flex. His partner & 2 kids were present.
