  • this is what i need now, merry xmas folks

  • Qué pedazo de tema!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • For you Cazz

Glad I could bring you to attention of one of the greatest rock bands of the 90's

  • For you Cazz

  • I posted the Guitar Tabs of this really nice version on Ultimate-Guitar, for those who want to try to emulate Rich ;-)

  • @F3FisGoodforYou It's "Late Night with Conan O' Brien" on September 20th, 2001.

  • just pure raw talent.not computer generated noise..total vocals and guitar..that's what tells the true musicians from the garbage.

  • Lord Jesus I love this Band

  • great

  • If you struggle to find the words to describe this genius lets see a thumbs up!!!!!!!

  • That boy must've stood in line, twice, when God was handing out soul!..

  • Does anybody knows what tuning he uses for this song ?

  • @F3FisGoodforYou I'm pretty sure Open G, it seems like a lot of Open G chords that Rich is playing

  • @F3FisGoodforYou Rich is *nearly* always in open G (She Talks To Angels being one exception(E))

  • Comment removed

  • @ouilleflameboy you should probably step back and watch him a little bit more.... while it is true that he is open g alot... but he uses open f sharp, and starndard alot like..... ballad in urgency, and high head blues are in standard... while the same in warpaint he uses open e on that record alot....

  • @TheAmorican Thanks dude... I wasn't saying all his songs were in that tuning. I do watch, and sometimes I even listen. Been playing guitar a long time but thanks for the input.

  • @ouilleflameboy sorry man.. I didnt mean for my opinion to come off as bitter or anything... I didnt mean to sound like an asshole...

  • Only the Black Crowes could pull off an acoustic cover with an electric guitar haha

  • love this song and you Chris......hugs buddy.

  • I LOVE this sound...

  • This just makes me smile and feel everything is ok in my very UN-ok world...

  • 10 people have justin bieber on their side

  • Blood....Brothers... that bond will never stop, interupted, perhaps...but their gift to us will continue forever. Recorded and re-posted thanks to the crowes and the fine folks of YOUTUBE.

  • I hope the hiatus is short

  • this guy chris is a great like janis joplin born with an amazing voice but its his interpretation and delivery of the songs that is so great must be charsees

  • sǝʍoɹɔʞɔɐןq/82/qǝɟ/8002/ƃoןqɔısnɯ/ɔısnɯ/ʞn˙oɔ˙uɐıpɹɐnƃ˙ʍʍʍ//:dʇʇɥ

In this article the author speaks very bad about the Crowes. I dont understand why. The Crowes are very high quality music I think. I dont understand why the public perception is so bad about them. They are totally underrated in public. Nowadays people only listen to music for the sake of being "modern" instead of being good. Never understood that.

  • Chris looks like Mick Jagger yeah. But he sings more like a mixture of Keef Richards and John Lennon. That is even cooler.

  • True. The Crowes are the followers of the great 70ies Stones. Closest to them stylistically because of Open G tuning style. The only band from today which I really love. But not only Chris is great. Dont forget Rich he is phantastic too. Great guitarist.

  • @SJ9336JE Right on.

  • Chris Robinson is so soulful, therefore, great...because he was influenced by other true soulful greats like Humble Pie's, Steve Marriott, Mick Jagger and R Steward. The ones that know what "rock"'s all about will dig what I'm saying, we can't bring back the great ones, they're gone, one way or another. So the torch needs to be passed, not to the goofball manufactured Justin Beaver or Lady Goofball, but it needs to be passed to the Crowes, we need to SUPPORT the Black Crowes. Long Live Rock!!

  • Who the hell is taylor swift?

  • Reminds me a lot of Paul Rodgers...

  • One of the all time favorites for me.... Has a personal meaning. Hell, these guys jammed with Led Zeppelin members, who else can say that??? A fantastic song, a fantastic meaning, positively in tune with the universe. What else can you say?

  • @bucephalus48 - "in tune with the universe" - I love that :D

  • @Capulator8 The universe is composed of vibrating strings....meant what I said literally, not metaphorically.

  • Prrrrrr. Prrrrrrrr.

  • Pretty sure this is the first act Conan invited at his show after the attacks of 9-11. Can someone confirm this?

  • @cruehead0 If they weren't the first, they were among the first. Every show in New York was having trouble getting guests into the city, but the Robinsons were one of the first to say "yes" to making an appearance.

  • @cruehead0 Yes.... that's exactly when this was. Music has healing powers, that's for sure.

  • where are these extraordinary artists now???

  • Taylor Swift???? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA You make me laugh buddy!! Why bother watching if you dont even like them????

  • Taylor Swift???? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA You make me laugh buddy!!

  • Rocker53zero,I love this thank you for sharing! I love The Black Crowes, you made my Birthday with this ,and all the presents, but most of all, your time you give to me everyday,I never expected everything you have given me in the past year and a half! x hugz ♥ me x

  • Amazing everytime i see it. Always lifts my mood. Thanks !!!!

  • Nice, soulful groove they have going. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for sharing that one. I really like that tune and had never seen that clip. I've been to around 28 Crowes concerts and at every single show these guys just rip the fucking roof of the place. Every venue, ever show. Best American rock and roll band ever. Thanks again.

  • taylor swift yeh thats funny i remember her from last year

  • @RVDIII

nobody wants to read your Taylor Swift rant. Get a life.

  • @RVDIII and this is coming from a guy who is more than likely a wrestling fan.... what a douche!!!.... this dude totally needs to get laid

  • @RVDIII

Listen spermburper -- I usually just ignore it when some juvenile asshole writes some inane internet comment, but the shit you spew is so filled with hate that it's obvious you're the kind of slime that ruins the entire planet. I realize it's not your fault that your parents were siblings, but you and I should still get together so I can rid the world of your inbred, red-neck, uneducated existence.

  • Damn right. To me he's easily in the top 5, American or not!

  • @GeetarLuvah999 He is certainly in the top 10 every live rock frontmen ever. A total showman, great performer, and pretty good bloody dancer as well.

  • @w0bbl3r Just saw them last night at Hampton Beach in New Hampshire. The dude rocked the place out. 2 words---sold out!!!! Chris didn't stop dancing for a second! I'm a huge Stones fan and he reminds me of a Mick Jagger.

  • @Stones1fan4ever i missed that one but ive seen them awasome!!!!!

  • I can't believe one silly comment generated so much flak. For all you "roots" people, the music originates in Africa. To call it "Southern", just speaks to where the bandmembers are from.

I simply only wondered why people referred to this as "Southern Rock". No big deal. I think the main point is that the music is good. So what if it comes from Patagonia?

    You freakin' morons..........

  • The Black Crowes are from Atlanta GA (last I checked, southern United States). Funny. Doesnt anyone do any research prior to posting opinions? Its not like its hard to use a Google icon.

  • the guitarist is from Tennessee, my dad went to school with him

  • Jeff Cease was the original guitarist to accompany the Crowes on "Shake your Money Maker", he was from Tennessee. But He only Played on their first album. He was replaced by Marc Ford for The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion, Amorica and Three Snakes, then Audley Freed replaced him for "By Your Side" and Lions. The current guitarist is Luther Dickenson from the North Mississippi Allstars.

  • roots rock would be better :)

  • well..dude in case you do not have any idea of where rock came from let me help you out. rock orginally started with the blues which orginated in the southern united states during slavery... you must be a fuckin yankee by your ignorance!

  • What a fuckin dumbass statement.Jesus Christ.

  • Southern soul is heard all throughout their music.

  • I agree....no redneckin'

  • I love Southern Rock.....

  • Great stuff that the radio stations won't play up here... thank god my dad has mostly all of southern rock's finest, I love the Crowes too, good stuff that most people won't hear

  • i think he is a hard living rocker.i don't think thats a big secret

  • GReat Voice passion and over all performance. They have that classic sound. However somtimes I feel he trying to hard to look the part of a hard living rocker.

  • Love this!! <3

  • Fabulous. Stripped down version packs a punch.

  • Ow ow, great song, reminds me very much of the old days with the faces (rod steward/ron wood) and steve marriot, they studied them very well, fresh sound though

  • I wish I could sing like that! This work every day crap is a rip off.

And I don't want to hear about how musicians work hard too.......I know they do; but they work at something they love to do and they dont have a psycho boss telling them to hand in a song.

  • i won tickets, front row to see them on Friday sooo can't wait

  • cant wait to see them at the west end/saranac brewery in Utica ny this summer sept 11th day befor my beday

  • see you there - ever been to the Nac?

  • no whats the nac, i work at the celtic harp right across from the brewery i hear all the band i just cant see them i herd blues traveler rusted root dark star orcastra moe.

  • oh Sorry; my friends and I refer to the brewery stage as the "NAC"

  • got ya c-ya there

  • cant wait to see them at rothbury!!!

  • IFRICKINNORITE?!

  • That voice, reaches all the way down inside me.

  • Good music is always good music.

  • What gear he uses? Squire, fender deluxe and any pedals?

  • Really? Not too many millionaire's would need to buy Squire. I am sure that's an American made Tele custom.

  • Esqure, not Squire. Original Esquire IS a millionaire's toy.

  • yeah that's 1954 esquire too bad he sold that thing it has such amazing tone. Rich probably isn't using any pedals here just straight tube overdrive...

  • Come back again to The Cincinnati area/KY and bring Barb and Joy with you guys !!!!!!!!! cause Remedy Just dont work without them

  • Gosh darn I LOVE Chris Robinson!

  • I love it ! pure soul !!!

  • they even sound awesome live!!! fuck yeah!

  • great fuckin song, people

  • oh yeh

  • The Black Crowes are just amazing. Combine that with the sound of an Esquire, and you just get perfection.

  • DIG IT

  • fuuuuuuuuuck i love this band fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck i love the faces too

  • i only found the black crowes two months ago .i have listened to nothing else since.how did i get by without em.

  • Some band. Some musicians. Some song. They don't make 'em like this anymore. Right up there with Stones, Faces, G & R and the Allmans, second to none.

By the way, those incredible, hot back-up girls don't seem to be getting the attention they deserve. Who are they, anyway? They are what makes this not just a good 12-bar boogie piece but a classic rock gospel anthem.

  • @ynklo you know what your talking about man ,just gonna check your channel out.

  • @ynklo They are Mona and Porche! The back-up singers...

  • @honeybeebrownmissy Thanks, honeybeebrownmissy! The Crowes always have a great lineup. The back up singers take the song - and a lot of Crowes songs - from good to great. "Barb and Joy" are two names that are ringing in my mind, but I'll take it from you.

  • @honeybeebrownmissy I heard Chris address them by those names on a live cd i have. I looked it up for us and in a magazine review it stated their names as Charity and Mona Lisa! hmmm...

  • Yes, yes y'all, the Black Crowes always deliver the goods. Thanks for posting

    v8teiro. What a tune, what a performance!!!!

  • awesome

  • Wow, all my years of being a Croweshead and I've never seen this Conan performance ... thanks for the upload - and THAT is how a telecaster should sound. Awesome.

  • i agree with you totally

    that is THE telecaster sound

rich robinson and keith richards have the best tone ever.

i play a tele thru a 212 fender deville. i can get pretty close to that but that is PERFECTION

  • so very awesome!

  • your very right there gina!!!!!!

  • Pearl JAM counts

  • Wow a true gem.Rich's playing was amazing. One of the only true great American bands left.

  • "One of the only true great American bands left."

    Agreed.

  • has to be the best version of this song that I have ever heard!! Thanks for posting this gem and much peace to you and all you hold dear.

  • Seeing this right after 2001 9/11 really helped to heal me. Thanks to the Robinson Brothers.

  • holy...fuckin...shit....

    i got goosebumps...they are amazing!!!

  • the robinson brothers are amazing!!!!!!!!

  • love this song..u guys are legend.

  • i cant wait to see these guys in concert this summer. on of my favorite bands

  • This is one of the best songs the Black Crowes have written! It's NOT the greatest but 1 of there ALL TIME best?

  • watthiman doesnt have a clue!!! idiot

  • u said a mouthful. roflmao

  • yet u came here 2 listen 2 it anyway. im sure that chris robinson would find that hilarious

  • awesome

  • this is honestly one of the best songs ive heard in a long, long time.

  • wouldnt it seem almost obvious that he can sing?? most would agree im sure..interesting opinion though pal. u must have quite the background in singing??

  • i felt the same way about his voice live for a while but after i listend to em for awhile i grew to like it alot. wierd.

  • southern rock gospel song. straight up smokin hot......

  • Gotta see'em live ...they r better !!

  • i saw the black crowes two nights ago and let me tell you, absolutely amazing night, awesome vibe, beautiful music!

  • Rich Robinson never ceases to amaze me

  • The world would be a better place without people like you. You actually think it's acceptable to post a racist comment like that? Pure ignorance.

  • I love this song but I sure as hell do not like you. what the hell is wrong with you man? I believe in freedom of speech for all, but I also think that there should be some aspect of intellegience behind it. I really think that the crowes would slap you silly for living in a place with freedom of speech and not saying anything more revolutionary. I hope mona reads your comment you uneducated fake fan. I wish you did not like this song, you are an embarrassment to Amorica.

  • If any of you haven't heard, TBC is opening for DMB this summer at a couple of their shows. Whether you like that ( like me ) or not, figured I'd share the info!
