Kiers, Why did you accept Robert's offer? It might sound like a more attractive offer because you wouldn't have to pay royalties at the beginning, but Robert's offer could imply forever royalties after a certain point, which is very expensive.

@fashiondesigner552, thank you! We filmed Shark Tank in October 2010 and I was contacted by Robert in January 2011. I started looking into other offers for fear it wouldn't happen and because my husband was still unemployed until January 2011. I actually received multiple offers from other investors and decided to take the offers without royalties. The door is still open with Robert should I decide to go back to him.

Metalman4wii, your comment made me laugh! If only I had, I would've saved myself from carpel tunnel syndrome, a biscuit joiner cut on my hand, and countless hours of sanding and sawing. The carpentry work I taught myself is not rocket science so it was relatively easy to learn, especially when you're building mid-century mod style designs which are linear. Can I build Victorian style furniture? No way. But modern toy boxes I have down pat!
I'm sorry but I don't believe someone with no carpenter experience can build something like that. I think she was paying people to make it for her or her husband was either way I'm glad it worked out for her....!
