  • Fabulous battleaxe.

  • I agree with one of the comments here. She is the only one whose voice can be heard space.

  • One of my favorites second to Robert Plant

  • She is truly incredible. Some people simply cannot be topped and she if definately one of the greatest performers to ever grace any stage. A most beautiful person in every way.

  • @CancunCharlie - SO right!

  • Alright I need to know where to get the tape for the full show. Anybody? AND I MEAN ANYBODY!!!!

  • God Bless Ethel.

  • EPIC LEGEND!!!! RUDOLPH AND FROSTY'S CHRISTMAS IN JULY!!! =)

  • i love her! such a classic performer... truly a great! such a unique voice :)

  • Her voice could stop rush-hour traffic on the M25

  • Ethel owns this song..period

  • The only voice you could hear from space.

  • I saw Ethel Merman in Annie Get Your Gun at Lincoln Center in 1966. A Performane To Be TREASURED!!!

  • Whenever I'm feeling low, I just listen to THIS show!!

  • Ethel ROCKS!

  • Let's gaaaaaauuuu on with the shaaaaaauuuu!

The Great Ethel Merman!!!! The one and only!!!

  • SHE WAS IT!! I WOULD HAVE PAID A HUNDRED DOLLARS TO HEAR HER. SHE WAS THE GREATEST WHO EVER LIVED ON THIS PLANET PERIOD.

  • @soupkup1 Agree totally...as well as Maria Callas...Two people I would have loved to hear live....Alas!

  • @soupkup1 Ironically when she was the biggest star on Broadway you could have had a front row seat for less than $10. Now you have to pay over $100 just to sit in the balcony. Merman was truly one of a kind. She wasn't the most beautiful actress of her time, or the best singer on Broadway, certainly not a dancer and her acting skills needed some polish but when she was on the stage you couldn't keep your eyes off her - she was truly a star in every sense of the word. What a performer.

  • My father designed this dress. It's called the M-sleeve caftan. Cheers to Miklos. A class alone.

  • @scoobydoo, I'm with you on that one!!

  • is it just me or is this good for a new york city video

  • Who is the idiot that disliked this...must like the crap of today

  • The golden Age of Broadway

  • Fabulous! She is sooo fabulous!

  • I am afraid many young singers today could fail to belt out like Ethel Merman when they would reach her age in this clip. I cannot believe she never took singing lessons befor she made her debut. Nobody would mistake her voice for another's. She was a real showstopper!

  • Inspiration for life!!!

  • Ethel was class personified. But notice how unprofessional the second violinist is? He looks away from the music and the conductor to observe Ethel and the audience several times!!

  • Love it!

  • what a delight!

  • What a voice I love her

  • i like ethel but i can think of probably about 100 better pops performances hehe

  • 1:04 YouTube video. January 16, 1908: birth of Ethel Merman, American actress and singer (d. 1984).

  • She was faaaabulous! Love how she belts out this song.

  • SHE HAD TOTAL TRUST IN THE AUDIENCE AND GAVE THEM EVERYTHING, WE LOVED EVERY SECOND AND GAVE IT BACK TO HER TEN FOLD - I CAN STILL HEAR HER SINGING FROM ABOVE :) THANKS ETHEL.

  • unreal ...

  • ETHEL MERMAN WAS THE QUEEN OF BROADWAY MUSICALS FROM THE 1930'S TO THE 1970'S. SHE WAS IN A CLASS BY HERSELF.

  • SOMEONE P L E A S E....CORRECT THE SPELLING OF THE TITLE ABOVE...

  • Little known fact about me: I love Broadway show tunes and Ethyl Merman.

  • awesome.... great find

  • luv ya eth. the BEST.

  • I LOVE ETHEL MERMAN!!!!!!

  • If memory serves, as staged in the original broadway show, the number is basically sung TO Annie, Ethel barely touched the lyric. She sure made it hers though.

  • No One could sing this like Ethel Merman, this was Ms. Mermans trade song.

  • NO BETTER POPS PERFORMANCE EVER
