  • how much did the piston replacing cost?

  • Thanks i really appreciate the fast response...

  • Btw this is a different bike..

  • @Anthonybentel1 It can cause premature failure and blowby... Any letters etc should be facing up and and if there is a taper on one ring it goes up. Thanks for watching!

  • Hey what will happen if I don't position my rings right? Because I put my bike together but I didt realize I had to put the rings in a certain place.. I havnt put it back on the frame yet

  • What site do you order your parts from for your rebuilds?

  • @WRXSubaru05 Usually ebay or bikebandit... Thanks for watching!

  • i am about to buy a 1986 xr100 that needs rings for 250? is that a good price or no

  • I messed up the piston in my 2002 honda trx400ex so now im in the process of getting it fixed and bored out

  • Hey thanks for the input it's back together and running great !!!!

  • @Anthonybentel1 Awesome man good to hear! Thanks for watching!

  • Hey I was wondering if you could help me? How do I get the valves out? Anything would help

  • @Anthonybentel1 You'll have pull the top valve cover...disconnect the timing chain and cam... pull the head and get a valve spring compressor to take them out. Good idea to replace the valve seals too!

    Thanks for watching!

  • @jfrost77hd could yo make a vid of doeing that please

  • Great details thanks

  • @Anthonybentel1 Hey thanks for watching man!

  • dude this helped so much my buddie gave me a 92 xr 100 wouldnt run i put new ring in it droped the front end 4inches rewelded the bars an ranked out the frame like a chopper so sick

  • @Santavicca14s Hey glad it helped man... thanks for watching! Bet that looks pretty cool... you should upload it!

And thanks for favoriting to bud... have a good one!

  • thanks for the video! but im still not clear on the rings. from the bottom up is there one ring, the spacer(the curved one), than another ring. those three are all in the same groove. then there are two other rings in their own grooves?

thanks (this is for a DR350)

  • @halosavage Yes that's correct... you have the 2 smaller rings in the bottom groove with the spacer in between then your 2nd and 1st ring in the next two grooves up. Hope this helps... sounds like you have it right.

  • ok thanks, do you know of a place that makes custom gaskets? because have a 89mm bored cylinder and the biggest known over size for this bike is 82mm. so i need the head gasket that has a 89mm hole but i cant find one.. do you know of a place where I could find it?

    thanks again

  • @halosavage No not off hand... possibly some performance cycle shops, just have to keep looking... got to be one out there if you've got the oversize piston.

  • yea thats true, bu i was reading that since i have a copper gasket, that i can anneal it and it is reusable.

  • my yamaha 1979 yz100f 2stroke says book 1 on piston and has like a 13 digit number on top whats this mean standard? arrow faces exhaust tho dood

  • @yz100f I'm not as familiar with the 2 strokes, the 13 digit number might be the part # or the identification #. The book 1 probably is the standard piston. Not real sure about the arrow, I know usually it's an IN or something that means intake side, might have to look it up or see with someone more familiar with them. Hope you get it figured out bud!

  • @jfrost77hd thanks man

  • my yamaha 1979 yz100f 2stroke says book 1 on piston and has like a 13 digit number on top whats this mean standard?

  • will rings make an atv engine run better??

  • @mrlawnmowerman89 If it smokes or has low compression it will.

  • @jfrost77hd ok thanks

  • Respond to this video... yea it smoke and has low compression

  • @mrlawnmowerman89 Sounds like it's probably do then, have you done a compression test on it?

  • @jfrost77hd sure havent

  • good video man,u explained it pretty well.

I have to rplace the rings on a lil xr80,does'nt seem to hard to do though.

  • @boosted28 Yeah it's not too bad of a job... just make sure the timing is correct and the cam lobes down at TDC.

  • @jfrost77hd ok will do thanks bud. I subbed ya.

  • @boosted28 Thanks for subbing... I subbed you back!

  • is the two top rings like the same order as a xr200r ?

  • @TheRedneckChris I'd think it would be the same, might want to ask a dealer to make sure though.

  • Great easy to understand video. Are you making a video on the rest of the build.?Thanks!!

  • @762x39mmak I should of but already got it together, I've been having problems with the points or I'd have it up and running. Thanks for watching!
