  • Love this with these particular photos

  • It's a little gem. Some of the Aborigines are from New Guinea and some of the scenery is Arizona and it is probably not PC, including shooting down the flying doctor, but Charlie Drake was great.

  • Hehehehehe

  • my boomerang won't come back!!

  • "Git art uv it. Narsty bushwacking animal"

  • Oh my gawd!!! I've hit the Flying Doctor!! Do you know first aid??

  • You had to buy the 45 to get the 'oh my gawd'. Our ears were deemed too sensitive to hear nothing but 'oh dear' on the wireless, due to censorship in '60s New Zealand. I can still sing every word (plus noises) 46 years later.

Didn't think 'practised 'til I was black in the face' was racist at the time. (Still don't tee hee.)

  • Bring it back.

  • Think Ill make a nace cup of tea.

  • I think I'm addicted to 1940s to 1960 songs. Lol

  • @vampirekid11422 I'm addicted to song made in 1940 to 1950 or 1960

  • I hate to think what this means in Freudian terms... :D

  • i pop sings dis in the car LOL

  • i LOL when i heard this in school

  • from a time when the aboriginals o the great land country could still laugh at themselves. Political correctness the most the heinous crime of the last 50 years.

  • "Oww my god, I hit the flying doctor.... Hehehehe can you do first aid?"

"Dont talk to me about first aid boy you owe me 14 chickens"

  • a boomerang that wont come back is called a ?===== stick

  • 6 peoples boomerang wont come back

  • They sound more like Native Americans than Aboriginals.

  • Charlie was a comic genius who unfortunately confronted an extreme example of political correctness!

  • It's soooooo long since I listened to this song thank you for posting it :)

  • GREAT.

  • I haven't heard that since when it came out - in the 1950s? Charlie Drake sensibly didn't try to do and Ozzie accent but was just himself - beaut! haha!

  • im a big disgrace to the aborigine race

  • they should make a sequal :

ma bananna wont come back ,ma bananna wont come back ;)

If you want your boomerang to come back then first youll have to throw it!!

  • Shown up by a speaking marsupial. Oh, the utter disgrace.

  • @AllRequired if you throw that thing at me.. I'll jump right on your head agagagaga

  • What was Popeye doing in a kangaroo suit?

  • I had this song in my head all the way through my GCSE maths. It's not really conducive to doing percentages.

    but it's an awesome song.

  • I'm thankful to say that as of today, my boomerang WILL come back.

  • WoW it has been a long time since heard this song

  • Been nearly 50 years since I heard this on the radio !! Wow what memories came flooding back !!

  • Im related to Charlie! only just found out from my dad! haha

  • One of the GREATEST novelty songs ever.

It was a million seller & I think would jump up the charts today, too.

Also Ray Stevens was a master at novelty songs too

  • I had this on 7" vynil many moons ago. Good to hear it again. Thanks. :-)

  • lol

  • We have the same sentiments in New Zealand it was a huge hit.

'Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport'- Rolf Harris' original verse, "Let the Aboes go loose Bruce" is now taken out. I don't suppose anyone's ever asked Rolf what his thoughts were on that... !

  • Ich habe als Kind mal so´n Ding gegen die Sonne geworfen, und der kam zurück!!! Boooiiing...mehr brauch ich ja wohl nicht zu sagen...

  • Great they used the original recording....before they changed it to blue in the face.

  • funny, funny, man. lovely memories from happier times

  • Lol. My dad turned me on to this.

  • great song! I had it on a K-Tel record when I was a kid, (early 80's). other songs like little red riding hood - sam the sham & the pharoes, mother in law - ernie k doe, along cames jones - the coasters...

  • My parents requested this for me on my birthday.

Saturday mornings with Uncle Mac. I was made up for weeks, all my friends heard it, even my teacher. where can you hear lyrics like that anymore. Mum, Dad, I love you, god bless.

  • did anyone listen to the "PC" version of this? I d/ld it from a site once, what a load of c**p, you cant beat the original, apparently it offended some people so they cleaned it up. LOL

  • what did they change it to then (assuming you are talking about the bit that says "till I was black in the face" did they change it to blue because they have a tendancy of doing that sort of thing.. I want a smurf to come along and say that he is offended at people saying "blue" in reference to skin colour

  • I love this song, I sang it when I was a kid, my Dad also had the album and would play it. I thought I had it memorized and now sing it to my kids. There are so many parts to the song I have forgotten over the years. Loved hearing it again. Thanks for posting brings back good memories:)

  • My dad used to sing this to my brother and I when we were little! We loved it, but mum wasn't too keen on dad's singing :) Thanks for posting!

  • One of my favorite tunes on all aboard versus!

  • more please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Crazy maan !! Crazy !!!

  • I wish my boomermny would come back

  • I think I saw Obama Sr. somewhere in there.

  • I think he is making Kinkajoo stew

  • That set me thinking m.moose - There are two version around "kinkajou stew" and "kinka juice too" The Kinkajou (honey bear) is a native of Central & South America, Kinka is a cocktail made with 1 1/2 ozs Bacardi Gold rum, 1/2 oz Averna liqueur, 1 oz tamarin concentrate, 1 oz freshly squeezed blood orange juice, 1/2 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice. Shake ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass.

  • very nice...tried one of your kinka juice cocktails last night...went down a treat.cheers me dear!
