How I interpret it, Court wasn't even sure of his feelings for Dani in the first place. Then Maureen came along, and they probably fell in love. He was confused around Dani after that and just didn't want to lead her on. Court and Maureen are supposed to be 16 here, and being just 2 years older than Dani doesn't make them perfect, or smart either. What I love about this movie is that it's not really black and white...

I was like that too at her age, always after the older ones. Well, I still go for older guys, but its different when you're older. The age gap isn't as noticeable as it usually is when you're 14. But it was kinda nasty of him to totally push her away. And you can kinda tell he really did wanna kiss her in that moment. But reality just checked itself in. He's afraid to go with what he feels because of how young she is. Awe... Dani... :( I feel for her.

Sofiiejj heres how it goes. My sister had foudn summer love earlier that summer and i watched the notebook too and it thought that would never happen to me and then i went to Jew camp for a week and the first full day i was there i met him at a friday night dinner. He was the guy all the girls wanted and i just happened to be there. The first time he talked to me i fell in love with him right away. Then a year later we returned to jew camp and kissed for the first time.
