  • i feeling this...and...i am feeling good!

  • the first time i heard that song i thought it was a man singing this song .

and no im not talking about the newer versions .

i just think this woman has a manly voice

  • @undergroundmasterrr so did i but its still bloody amazing ;) i kinda felt the same with tracey chapman fast car xx

  • thumbs up if you thought those were pieces of bacon :))

  • Thank you so much for this onwe! Ive been looking for a longer version than the 2:something.

  • its Christmas so yeah i am feeling good.

  • How the fuck can 13 people dislike this?? Nina Simone singing this song is the best couple of minutes any music lover can experience!!

  • im huge muse fan and im glad they made a great cover to carry on ninas original

  • wasint this song on a movie

  • It honestly makes me shiver when I hear this song, it's just so powerful and so beautiful. No other song that I have heard rivals this. Just so . . . inexplicably epic

  • 13 people are not feeling good :)

  • wow amazin :)

  • 13 people clicked dislike by accident, possibly coolest intro to any song ever

  • BAD NEWS!!!!!!!

  • In My Opinion.... Only Nina Simone And Michael Buble Are Allowed To Sing This Song!! :) There The Only People To Give It Justice! :)

  • What a song!

  • I remember first hearing this back in about 1993 or so, VW used it in advert for the Golf in the UK. I heard it again in 1995 when Sky played it after Blackburn won the English Premier League. This song is amazing and it smashes the socks off the Muse version.

  • Questa è proprio Lorena Massa. Ti amo.

  • at 2:20 i thought she'd had a bloody stroke!! anyways, this song is from The Saboteur (game). :D

  • i prefer muses version dont hate on me

  • I dont know. im trying to like this version better than muses but muse has more appeal to me

  • @Peetree777 Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo..............

  • @Peetree777 End song at my best mates moms funeral yesterday......a debt choice, I remember her playing it, infact the first time I heard it.........now youtube user PeeTree777 the comment you made, well here's how I fit that in.........it ranks slightly below the user who left a comment on a Stevie Wonder song saying how he sounds quite like Olly Murs............sinner (in my opinion only which ranks for sh*t all really) X

Still rank Muse in general though, no flys on them....... X

  • She was an incredibly seexy woman. RIP, Nina

  • Simply the best

  • 12 people missed the like button.

  • Muse-Version is way better. Thumb up if you think the same as me

  • @Pc0r Curious over your opinion, I went and listened to the Muse version. About 30 seconds in, I was cringing. Thirty seconds after that, I had to turn it off. Sorry, but whiny emo version by Thom Yorke rip-off definitely loses.

  • @smanticus

I can say the same thing about this. Except that everything you said about muse is not true.

  • This song is wicked. The best song she made

  • An Original Is Always Better Than A Copy.

  • @isisncali It isn't an original, the original was in 1964 performed by Cy Grant in "The Roar of the Greaspaint"

  • Hello jzimm...I meant "Nina" not the song. Thanks for the info on the song. :)

  • They use this song in the new video game "The Saboteur" It's such a great song in the game especially when you are driving through the France killing Nazis.

  • @aplusjimages that's where i found this song from, and i'm f*cking in love ;D

  • this song is so fantastic but the video just sucks

  • This perfect, Love Michael version too!!!!

  • I've always wondered, do they have toilets inside those short yellow buses?

  • one of the best songs ever

  • I'm loving this song

  • No one does it like Nina!!!

  • omgsh, michael buble did a version of this, i thought it was his song but i guess not.. nina's is great too. =]

  • i like Nina's version the best......she is one classy dame !!

  • To any one with a sembelance of class will enjoy this version better. Everyone else is imitating.

  • love this song! its been made even better by my sister-in-law walking down the aisle to it in her's and my bro's wedding!

  • Is this the original version? Also, this nina person sounds like a man....but I still like it....

  • no it's not..it's originally from a musical called Roar of the Grease Paint, Smell of the Crowd and sung by Gilbert Price.

  • Come on! Behave man. There is only one Nina Simone. Also the texture and tone in her voice is a fingerprint, truly beautiful.

  • flawless you cant dislike this song this song will move you i can listen to this for hours and never get tired of it i can just close my eyes and drift in to this shit lol all i will need is a bag of weed and a bong to make the shit vivid hahaha

  • @sillyblackguy vaporizer.

  • Comment removed

  • @sillyblackguy

Why don't you try simply using your own imagination to make 'the shit vivid' rather than recourse to herbal accompaniments?

  • @blueskyfeeling Cuz he's a silly black guy...and thats all good cuz so am i ;-)

  • great lyrics

  • The song is GREAT!!! don't dig the art work.

  • Whether it is the original or not its wonderful!

  • this one is not the orginal, the version that like best is the Muse version, simply breathtaking.

  • lol. this IS the original...

  • no it ain't. Even thou muse's version is very close to Simone's interpretation it's their version I like best. The original song was written and performed for a broadway show.

  • The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd is a musical with a book, music, and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley.

This is fact, so stop arguing.

  • I should also add that it is from 1965

  • Well that's what I said. I said this wasn't the original version and that the version I liked best was the muse one. But that didn't stop a bunch of kids to thumbs down my comments. I know it's a fact, I STATED IT!

  • I guess I missed where you mentioned anything I wrote, as follows:

The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd is a musical with a book, music, and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley in 1965.

    are ya catching the sarcasm?

  • Are you catching the stupidity of this then?

"This is fact, so stop arguing."

we never argued what musical it was, dickhead! So yeah we never even mentioned the name of the show, because that wasn't what we were arguing about! it was all about whether the nina simone song was the original version or not! And I said it wasn't and added that the original version was done for a Broadway show!

You then mentioned the name of the show, well thanks a lot, now f*ck off.

  • Were you dropped and/or abused as a child?

Such big words for such a little mind.

  • that's all you have to say? you're downright pathetic.

"little mind" - I can't help but laugh, I guess it's because my mind is so little.

Do us all a favor and get off your imaginary high horse.

  • No no... its my cyber high horse.

I'm going with not only dropped, but also abused.

  • its your cyber high horse? how big of a nerd are you? how old are you? you are most certainty not 42years old , for your sake, so I'm going to take a guess,. 12? Thinking again you could be 42, pedophile maybe? hence the obsession with child abuse? I always thought pedophiles were all morons, but you certainly take it to another level.

take my advice, stop fishing for young kids just for your sick pleasure, it's wrong, immoral and you will be caught! haven't you seen "to catch a predator"?

  • But clicking the thumbs down they are not implying that your comment is false (it would be ridiculous to repute that you truly feel what your comment says you feel). By "thumbing it down," they are simply saying that they feel differently.

  • but I put an opinion and then stated a fact, the someone said I was wrong, that the "fact" wasn't true, then suddenly I get a bunch of thumbs down. It certainly says something, even thou I can't draw a definitive conclusion. And I don't agree with thumbing down someone for having a different opinion, but it happens, so yes you are right to some extent.

  • What exactly is wrong with you?

You must have extremely unstable relationships in your life to go on and on like this over a SIMPLE comment that I made (it was non-insulting by the way) to clarify the name of a musical that a song came from. Thats all I did before you started slinging these childish insults.

As any normal adult, I don't let some cyber idiot bother me. They are just words. I mentioned "cyber high horse" as a retort to your idiotic comment. Thats it.

    You are very unstable.

  • You are a nut. Take it somewhere else. No one here agrees with you. Is your life that miserable you come on YouTube to toss insults around?

Who cares what you don't agree with. Seriously? We don't live our lives around what some unstable psychotic thinks on YouTube.

You are in Portugal anyways. Who the hell cares what someone in a third world county thinks. lol

I am done replying to your childish rants. So say what you will. I won't be back.

  • NO! NOT A THUMBS DOWN!!

  • Fuck Michael Buble! Nina Simone's versionis the original and the best there will ever be.

  • i dont think it is the original. it was first done in the musical The Roar of the Greasepaint-the Smell of the Crowd and it was sung by Gilbert Price. Nina Simone's is the best version though.

  • Nah it's a ,uch older version of the song, probably used a lot in movies and so... But I've stopped searching for the song... Thanks anyway for all the help.

  • have you tried the original soundtrack album? this song is from a musical called "The Roar of the Greasepaint- the Smell of the Crowd" which dates back to the mid 60's.

  • Nina is one of those who can take a song and MAKE IT LIKE HER OWN just by her sitting at her piano and singing it her way.

    Whatta voice!!

  • There is a version of this song with the same lyrics but with a unusual voice. Do you know what song I'm talking about...? I've tried to find it, but all that I find is this version.

  • You might be thinking of the Muse version.

  • Not the one but thanks anyway.

  • perhaps michael buble? Nichole scherzinger? This song has been copied alot!

  • The Original=the best

  • actually Nina Simone covered this too.....it was written for a Broadway show originally

  • Nina is not a jazz singer. Her music spans many geenres, including blues, R&B, jazz, and folk.

  • original.

    unusual voice.

    love it.

    xox

  • Niesamowity utwór -otwiera przed nami nowe horyzonty "spoglądania"

  • I listened to this, the Muse one, and Michael Buble. I like Buble the best :)

And I have to say, scat always makes me laugh. :P

  • Great song! I love it!

  • this song is brilliant. so hard to learn though, and do justice!

  • i get chills when i listen to her sing this song. wonderful!!

  • Using a slightly more modern expression this tune is phat.

  • y is half of it silent??

  • this is pretty weird if you listen this after listening the Muse version

  • The Muse version is just this one with electric guitars.

  • Keyboard, bass guitar, and drum. no electric guitar at all. along with none of the orchestra instruments. trombone, trumpet, etc etc.

  • 1st time I heard this was on RZA's cd intro ]but from Shirley Bassey]. 2nd time was of course on 6 ft under commercial.

  • Everyone should check out "Six Feet Under, season 4, promo" just search for the video with these key words. it's a great video.

  • then you have bad taste this is real music with real soul you either have it or dont...and trust me she has it...

  • cripes how can u not like her voice in this song???!

  • its different and I just like it...

  • Buble's? lol

he's good, but he sings pop!

    this is legend!! :)

  • fyi nina simone is a famous jazz singer and i respect that you don't like it but Buble is not the original considering this song has been around since the 60s and Nina Simone was like the third person to put it on an album and there have been countless before michael buble just to let you know (but i love michael buble's version too)

  • its strange how we can think so ''not-the-same'' i think that buble's version is sooo bad, his voice in the song is very good, but he sings it in a wierd way i think. but we all have our own taste when it comes to music

  • Oh Nina, your voice will always give me shivers.

  • nice, nicest ...

  • actually after listening 2 this 2nd time round im not sure if its a good WOW or not ??????????????not sure ...let you know later hahahaha

  • WOW...

  • That song gives me goose bumps. Nina makes it soulful, Buble plays it sexy. Either way we can't go wrong. Gotta have both ...

  • Buble seems more down to earth than to really believe his version compares to Ninas. Surely he is just paying a true artist tribute. Of course I guess it is hard for some people to realize there is a differene in ART and talent. Lots of people have talent, lots of people have looks. Lots of people can draw a pleasing portrait (talent) only a few paint the mona lisa. Nina Simone was a true artist, this young guy is a Sinatra impersonator.

  • Sorry, but the mona lisa is a highly overrated bit of tosh. A lot of ppl convince themselves into thinking it is a piece of art because mainstream culture says so.

What is art is debatable - evry1 has different perceptions of what it means.

  • Bengali--have you even seen the Mona Lisa? I mean in real life? I'm sure you would not be so quick to judge if you had. But then again, art is merely a form of expression; how it presents itself is an entirely different matter.

  • Yes, I have seen it in real life. Its a long walk in the museum to see it first of all, n then when you do see it, its like, wtf?!

  • Just because something's been overhyped, doesn't mean it's bad.

  • sooo much feeling!

  • oops feeling hahaha!!!

  • this song gives me the chills and then oooooh a relief love it I'm felling good!!!

  • Bravo! The girl with the Nth and the ALL. Love her music. Love the lady. Love Nina. A real touch of class. Gives me a deep SS (Simone shiver). I'm adrift, satiated, afloat ... suspended, in trance. In Autumn, that is ... I'm a Myth.

  • Great Soul Lady! She makes the blues sound sweet.

  • Can someone please tell me the original singer of this song...you know the one thats on that car commercial....i always hear reproductions but i prefer the original! thanks

  • that is the origanil and nina simone is the best

  • NIna Simone is the original singer....and is also the singer on the commercial. How can you ever mistaken such a beautiful soulful voice for another?

  • this is the original but there is a good muse version...

  • too bad she died

  • Are people still uneducated on the art of scat. Google it. Ella, Pearl Bailey, Cab Calloway, NINA and a host of others will show you the true art of scat.

  • Yeah I listened to the Muse version on Jools Holland - thought it was sensational. Loved it. Michael Buble's version is great too. Its just a wicked song - period.

  • I like her really much. Have u seen Secrets (Tajnosti)? It's czech film by Alicia Nellis with Nina Simone and Buty (famous czech music group) music.

  • wow

  • I don't know what ya'll are talking about, i think Michael Buble's version is soooo much better than this one, but that is my opinion... everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

  • True. You are absolutely entitled to be wrong.

  • our school concert band did this song and we only had three violins pian5 flutes one trombone one trump a alto sax and and two tenors drum kit and singer and actually sounded like this!!it was freaken awesome

  • Great song!! I also love the Muse version

  • It's called scat. It's a Jazz thing where the vocalist immitates an instrument

  • Great song! One of my all time favourites. Better than the Buble version anyday!

  • so I listened to muse and micheal buble, this woman blows them out the water, very soleful.

  • this is heavenly. Her voice should be played into every home

  • this is great... but muse redid it great (Rock wise) better than michael bublés version

  • I love this song but I couldn't remember who it was for the longest time lol

  • me encanta como saborea la ultima parte de la cancio, ¡que voz y que alma pone cuando canta esta mujer Q.P.D. hasta siempre Nina ...!!

  • This is so beautiful. I mean I like Michael Buble's version but his lacks the soul that Nina had and I don't know if anyone else will ever due this song as much justice as her.

  • I agree with you, I was getting ready to type something similar, but ran across your comment. right at 2:20 to the very last note, it feels as though the notes are walking up my spine lol yeah i know crazy but i love this song!!

  • beautiful

  • Cada que la escucho me gusta mas, muchas gracias otra vez. ABROL Una vez mas hiciste mi dia

  • I love her voice. I wonder if she's still alive.

  • unfortunately not, there really will never be another Nina. I HIGHLY recommend her double album collection...god can't remember the name.

  • i could listen to this song over and over and over

  • unfortunately, she is not. i was fortunate enough to see her perform right before her death in 2003. a great voice has been silenced.

  • Beautiful, what a voice..!! an the video is amazing, Thank you very much Abrol. ;D I'm feeling soooo good!!!!

  • check out ne me quittie pas by nina simone! and jaques brel!

  • Where are the pictures from and why did you choose them?

  • actuallly, I took a picture with my cell phone of a piece i got at an auction, and then cropped it here and there, and put the cropped pieces back together.

  • Que voz, que melodia...Grandiosaaaaaaaaa!!! Muchisimas gracias por compartir y subir este video, gente como tu hacen que la vida sea mas linda.

  • michael buble's cover is amazing ... but nina gives me goose bumps.

  • you know when music is good when that happens.

  • I've heard a couple of covers for this song ( Michael Buble and Muse) but no one, and I mean NO ONE can top The Nina Simone.

  • I don't know, I really like Buble's cover a lot. He does a pretty good job.

  • Today is the day I decided to stop crying over a cheating, double life livin boyfriend! This song makes me feel good and says how I feel today! Thanks for posting it!

  • a voice from above when people had something to say!!!

  • Fantastic! Turn the volume up and just float away.....

  • you know it! I'm turning it up right now! we need a new NINA! please!

  • can't argue with that! Check out Ne Me Qutti Pas, you may never be the same!

  • Man, I just love this this song. I listen to it every day, and it just makes me feel glad to be alive. I love Nina's voice; I don't think anyone can match it for quality or depth.

  • can't argue with that! Check out Ne Me Qutti Pas, you may never be the same!

  • wow i just listened to ne me quitti pas... damn. i am still shocked. That song isn't for people inder 18. you were right. (the jacques brels version is awesome too)

  • feeling that good please share!

  • Absolutely Gorgeous. Her voice is and was the ultimate instrument.

  • Agree!

  • Wonderful, wonderful song and sums up how I feel about the new life we might just have ahead of us in Scotland.

  • classic

  • excellent piece of music

  • epic shizzle right here.

    Awesome.

  • epic shizzle indeed..... my goodness. the hairs on my neck are standing on end.... DAMN!!!
