Who the fuck puts a waterpump in a car with a plastic impellar. Then the transmission broke its 1-2 gear shiftfork. Had to get it taken completely apart. 1 year later my 3rd gear synchro broke. By the time I sold the car my vehicle speed sensor was failing, ABS light was on, transmission was leaking...

@Chldrnofbodm The downpipe flexpipe was completely torn through; and more stuff that I can't remember at this point. The only smart thing I did with that car was sell it. If I hadn't bought it for 6,000 cash, and I had a 5 or 6 year loan on it, I would have been in some serious shit. Volkswagen can get away with selling the car for slightly more that the competition because it has a nice interior and its German. But truth be told the 20th is Brazilian, and most USDM mk4s were made inMexico

@Chldrnofbodm Vw really failed with the MK4 and especially those with 6 speeds and 1.8ts. Their reliability is shit and they break all the time. Replacement parts are also ridiculously price for parts that are mostly made of cheap plastic (Bakalite). Yes boosted life was fun with my GIAC tuned 20th, but I am much more happy (and relieved) with my 2009 civic Si. Don't take this post offensively, I am just trying to warn people about the risks of buying a VW, especially the 337 and 20th.

@Diastavrones Its all about knowing the reputation of the vehicle before you buy it man.Ive got a stock grocery getting mk3 vr6 with over 180,000 mi with normal where and tear maintenance that i bought brand new in 96,and i still put up to 2010 civic si.I am not beating them unless they dont know how to launch,and my car is dam near 15 years old..The vr6 used to be one of the most reputable v6 motors out there.The civic si is nice dont get me wrong..
