@alonestar7 The worst part about this game is that it is a tease for the full game. You know there is more to it and you want that! The other thing is that it's not many people racing online anymore. But it is a great sim and the feeling of the cars is fantastic. 0 to 10... hmm It's hard but i'd say a 7 since it can entertain for so many hours for a low price. But it's very easy to see that it's not a full game.

The most obvious missing thing is of course a GT Mode and engine parts. It doesn't have all the fancy effects to simulate high speed like GRID or Need For Speed but a more realistic feeling of speed.

Yeah, though it fooled me as a full game. I found out it was a Demo after I purchased it! As I was saying... games like NFS have maximum 60 cars on the final game, this is a demo and it has 72! I can't wait for GT5, 1000 cars!

The first official Release Date for GT5 was 2010. Kaz once said it had a good chance to come out 2009 but since the work on GT PSP and the damage modelling it wasn't possible to release a full GT game now. So instead of sending us a huge patch they simply release the game with more features from the start. GT5 is in a state where it could be released anytime.

The only ones who doubt this game are the ones who don't race. I just started to get into amateur racing and i can tell you the physics of how the cars handles are very very life-like.

I got an idea. Go out, buy that g25 steering wheel for the game. and try it out. if you have any sense of real racing, you will find it is quite life-like.

And GT5 is about actually driving real cars in ur living room and feeling how they would drive in real life...thats why people could race a car on a track in the game, then use the same visual points in real life.

No you're not actually. Gt5 is an arcade too which has litttle or nothing to do with car driving in real life. They ONLY game in gaming world worth calling a real simulation is Live for speed on PC. With its complex physics...you can really feel the car there....every else so called "simulation" like GT5, GTR, GTR2 are arcades tuned for 10 year old kids who never drove a real car. FACT.

Fact. i played this game using my car and then the next day did the EXACT same time using my car on the same track. If you race properly and follow lines it has amazing physics....When 10 years olds are bouncing off cars and using the wall to reach an apex then fine its arcade....BUT i can tell you the GTR in GT5 is a perfect representation of the real thing the pull of the front wheels and the push of the rear feels just like the game

Yes it has some feel, but its still not real. Just because you get same time in game and for real doesnt mean that physics is great. Game still doesnt feel like real simulation. The biggest thing where LFS shines, and is much better than all other games is tyre and grip simulation. No other game simulates tyre deformation and grip as good as LFS. LFS is still THE SIMULATION, and has the most complex and realistic physics of all games. Physics in LFS is like graphics in GT5, almost perfect :P

I totally agree with what you say it has better grip simulation but i think GT5 has better sense of holding the car to its grip limit and then when it lets go it reacts the same way in real life....in turn 3 of Fuji i know that at 129 the back end starts to free up and the game does the same thing thats how i knew to let off that corner, also i was lucky enough to try a 599 and it reacts exactly like GT5

you need to shift the weight a little more before a turn. Pull a bit to the outside, then dart into the apex, and it'll kick out a little quicker.

My PS3 have replaced my DIVX-player, my CD/MP3 Stereo and my PS2 of course ;) So it's so much more than just a game station. I watch DivX videos from a USB memstick every day now :) I must say the price was right, even though i bought it when it was over 6200kr (about $1000)

I'm not sure of MKV, but AVI/MPG/DIVX works. Watched a lot of Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, American Dad and South Park through the PS3 with a regular 2gb USB-Stick. External hard-drives also works but has to be formatted with FAT32. NTFS won't work.

I learned to drift in GT5 by driving Suzuka slowly with a 135i in the demo. In the corners i tried to gas a little to initiate a slide. After a few laps i recorded this video.

Play as much racing games as you can, and you'll get the hang of it..

Think of it as ANYthing can be perfected, as long as you know the controls..

Customize the controls to fit YOU and your playing style... That's the easiest way I can put it... :)

whats really bugging me is how they have had the same sounding crashes, engine noise, skid noise, and the same smoke for the whole series of gran turismo......i really hope they work on that for the full release of gt 5,

an example of how much better upgrading some of those things is NFS pro street, just the smoke makes the gameplay much funner, they also added the damage to the cars too

Forza 2 is a great game and everything, but it gets really boring pretty quick, GT 5 will last much longer on the fun zone or whatever just from being able to switch into cockpit view with the extreme graphics of HD being put to use

Like any other GT game it is hard in the beginning. The key is not driving so fast ;) Also the 135i isn't the best drifter since it has very short wheelbase.
