So cool. Hey, you know I'd like to see? Some sort of synchronized swimming event using these. They wouldn't be doing all of those intricate leg positions, but they might do stylish leaps and such. Would be interesting.
The Normal Monofin I use is flexible and is really good for slow speed free dives and I love it because I really use less energy...It took me a week to get use to Monofining!
The Lunocet really is a fast flipper to use but will burn you of energy if you go very very fast.
That is where it really shines but other than that I cannot say anymore as I am gaining more experience using it....I think more training is required ...You should already be a pro Monofiner if you get it!
you know, you'll go a hell of a lot faster if you streamline your arms while keeping your head down and use less of your legs and more of your hips to kick, jus say'in
@0HippyHunter0 ....You have a normal MONOFIN, or sterio flippers?
This wing is very stiff and you would have to put full effort to go at fast speeds, the normal monofins are my favorite because they are flexible and you can go slow with little energy expended...Momentum is lost on Lunocet but it is possible to do a high speed dolphin breach!
@0HippyHunter0 I am more experienced with the traditional Monofin so If I had to put my life on the line and choose one I would go with my Finis brand...I am though curious about the Russian "Hyper"...LUNOCET is fast but draws way too much required energy ant thus burns up my oxygen while deep diving, and I may also not be correctly doing the Monofin kick so the Finis forgives me by compensating via flexible blade.
I left that Gym... they are gave me a hard time trying to be discharged- Scammers won't allow me to just up and quit!... there pool is too shallow and useless for this gear!
If you get one or happen to try another monofin you will wonder why no one has tried it or why its not mainstream... and your brother will shit himself if you are able to fly out of the water... In which case you can!
The Lunocet monofin costs about $1000.00 dollars and another $250.00 for a pair of high end bicycle shoes so its tallys up to $1250.00 in all.
I recomend that any one who would like to own one of these to try a Finis competitor Monofin first or at least already have experience using a Monofin.
The Finis competitor Monofin is readily available at some dive shops and they can also special order it from Finis or you can order it online yourself. It is a great and inexpensive Monofin that is great for biginners as well as pros.
The Lunocet monofin is so new that It must be ordered directlly from the inventor from his website or call 706-757-2394. It is very expensive and should be treated as your second step if you want to go faster and have already mastered the first monofin type.
Aight man.. but I want one in black, my size is Small, but that doesn't seem to be in Small.. How do you think the first time was when you was trying the competitor?
The Competitor Finis monofin use to be in other colors and even had custom dolphin designs on a promo monofin, It was offered in 3 sizes, small medium and large.
I think large is discontinued as most people wear sizes 7-and up to 12...call the company to ask for your proper shoe foot size befor you order so that it doesnt slip off, crap your swim style!
I actually started out with the cheap rapid Monofin and discovered the higher quality competior monofin much later.
Actually It was the Chlorine in that pool that was really messing me up... I later on went to get my google which were accidentlly left inside my car so I was really swimming blindly!
put some ankle weights on it

@sanddragon99 So is the monfin better than usual double fins then? Im thinking of getting one for my dive in Cyprus :)
iPurpleGalaxyi 11 months ago
@iPurpleGalaxyi
I cannot answer that if You have never tried a Monofin... Some people actually are not very skilled or in shape for a standard Monofin.
If you are a good Monofin swimmer then the Lunocet is for you!

@sanddragon99 Thank you! I will get one and try it out :)
Thanks again pal!

@sanddragon99 So, you're saying that traditional swimming is more sustainable while the Lunocet isn't.

A cool bit of kit, but it certainly looks harder work than your previous one.

You might be right about its efficency .. but then again it will be quite some time to get used to a totally different monofin.
