@thegsb30254 only way to have that opinion is to have no knowledge of the story. the tyranids are so vast in number to threaten an entire galaxy(or more, as their exact numbers are unknowable). moral of the story: sc2 and warhammer 40k have completely different settings. the imperium is a million times the size of the terrans, and the tryanids...well you get the idea. nothing wrong with sc2 but comparisons are pretty pointless.

I also hate how Blizzard fan-fags love to compare the Warhammer 40k universe to Starcraft. i really liked dawn of war 1 because of its online play with being able to build bases and turrets to defend them, i enjoyed playing a game with my friends for hours at a time just trying to get out armies to the max and finally waging a epic war towards the end

i probably wont buy this game because it took a step in the wrong direction, they removed my favorite races, the ability to make bases, and it just doesn't have that feeling of DOW anymore

@philjk9372 i honestly love it and the campaign is great but gets repetitive yea there is no base building in multiplayer or single player. in multiplayer u start with an hq that drop pods ur troops in and u have to capture power nodes and requisition points to gain resources.. its alot like company of heroes id recommend downloading the demo before buying since everyone has different taste.

Good game trailer. The tyranids were depicted artfully an graphically well. The models is near perfect after the table top minatures. However, the missing units is heartfelt. I would really like to see them in the upcoming expansions or sequels to this type of rts. 10/10

lol here comes the OUTSIDE argument. Why should you pass judgement on someone on what they like to do. you do know playing 40 k is a form of socialising as you can not "battle" with yourself. They also tend to battle against their friends so that argument is kinda mute. the point on Tyanids is to spam the smaller tyranids that have no synapse so they can outnumber the enemy,and use tyranids with synapse auras to increase the power of the smaller tyranids,after that it's simple,the smaller tyranids are used as shield to the synapse tyranids(which cause a lot of damage).

anyway, thats beside the point. the campaign is fun, with a limited force you use for attacks and all, but the true fun is without a doubt, multiplayer. its very tactical, competitive (in the good sense) and all that.

its true that the Nids came way before the Zerg... but in DAW2 they have been somewhat "Zergified".. when i was imagining Tyranids, i imagined creatures that are truly beastial, creatures that roar and houl, no slither sounds. not too much slime, but pure red meat cocaine cold blooded creatures that kill!

but not that they arent fun that way, its just a bit underwhelming.

Tyranids were always Zerg-like(however,they are not based on Zergs).

The nids rely on gaunts to distruct their enemies(due to their numbers) so the greater nids can destroy them without distruptions,but the nids that have no synapse powers(gaunts for example) always need a nid with synapse aura to control them,otherwise they will *break*.Their weakness is that if you destroy a synapse nid all non-synapse creatures will have their morale broken and will lose most of their power

the main point in my comment was to show the differeces between the nids and the zergs.

The tyranids are still the beastial creatures you are talking about (storywise),but if they would be inserted in DoW2 in the way they are described in the books they would surely be unstopable.

As MadJackal said the Tyranids are a swarming race,meaning that they rely on numbers,and so does the Zergs,however that doesn't make them "Zergified".

darkcrusade isnt for windowslive.. and no it only has four races at the moment Space marines,Eldar,orks,tyranids, just like the first dawn of war which had sm,chaos,eldar,orks. they will add new races with the expansion packs.. and so far hasnt been any news for it coming out for garbage box 360... it means u dont have a legit copy
