  • alan parsons is the most underrated band ever

  • I woke up this morning with this song in my head....haven't heard it in over a decade...not sure how it got in my head. One little bit of trivia about Alan Parsons.....They were the engineers on Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon Album!

  • This good music. So was his Gaudi album.

  • Still feel the magic after all these years. Very nice strings..

  • !!!!!!!!!!!! EXCELENTE CANCION ME TRANSPORTA AL PASADO¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡.

  • @Margaritha8439 estamos de acuerdo..............

  • great song. should have gotten higher than #15 on the billboard top 40, imo

  • When I first heard this song several years ago, I felt certain that it was some fantastically great Beach Boys song that I had somehow missed. Boy was I shocked when I learned that it was Alan Parsons! Then again, these guys were musical geniuses, and it eventually made sense to me. This song is a rock gem!

  • I love this song, it was at the top of the charts in 74 I believe. They played it all the time along with 'Back Home Again' by Henry John Deuchendorf. heh heh... This song's chords on the main stanzas go round and round like a rondo. Only two chords. Genius. It sounds like more because of the melody.

  • Liked this song....Still do!

  • This song seems to have that Phil Spector sound, you know 'The Wall Of Sound'!!Great song!

  • its nice to see the us criticising the uk troops in afghanistan, with the illustrius career the us have, vietnam, korea, duh, ah yes they sent 30000 troops into, oh yes grenada and panama, big win there then, nice for part timers

  • Great song but iTunes is crap if you don't support FLAC you hate music or you're upset that your lame AAC format sounds like utter shit compared to FLAC. Go with Songbird.

  • yet again i Sincerely apologize to some of the CLEVER and well educated and open minded american people, all that i said wasn't aimed on you...so if you know you're okay than don't take it onto yourself...its just some things for those egoistic american people to think about...

  • too bad the audio went to shit because of the visual, :( but otherwise, this song is awesome!

  • What a voice guys... simply wonderful music.

  • It ain't enough that we meet as strangers...I can't set you free.

So will you turn your back forever on what you mean to me?

  • Great song from a great artist!!

  • I believe in the power of magic

  • no one touches them or ever will

  • KILLER SONG/KILLER COLOURS!

  • Alan Parsons has got to be one of the most under-rated British musicians/producers EVER. His back catalogue is simply astounding. Love this song. It was actually released as a single in 1984 but sank virtually without trace - no justice.

  • @Number6YT I always loved the campy Dick Tracy video too!

  • @Number6YT

That's because the 80s were known for some of the worst music made popular. Some of the real gems like this were not given too much airplay.....Peace

  • @Number6YT please remember; He was competing with the garbage culture like Prince, Madonna and Culture Club. There's the real injustice...

  • Awesome song.

  • The first time I heard this song I thought it was Procol Harem. Sounds just like them.

  • have always loved this song . great

  • Hang in there friend . . . just remember, there's a plan for you.We may not agree with the path we get put on but there's a reason for it.

  • this is true :)

  • Need to learn how to spell, too. Now that would be 'magical'.

  • Comment removed

  • God Bless you for your service! Most could not manage as well. I had *guessed* you were one of our young teeny-boppers!

  • @689321546 So, the hand you lost was the one that knew how to spell?

  • Comment removed

  • @689321546 Not funny, but sarcastic. You're the one who blamed his misspellings on his service in Vietnam and his lack of a hand. Lame excuse for misspelling.

  • Comment removed

  • @Davccelion Nope. He's the one who connected his bad spelling to his military service and his missing hand. Not I. It was a damned poor excuse and I simply was being sarcastic about his "tear-jerking" excuse. He probably served honorably in the military and for that I am grateful. But his bad spelling? It's his fault, not his hand's.

  • @themoshmenace ,you have a point on that. I have removed my comment.

  • @themoshmenace You're a unique breed of 'shit'. This man served his country, show him respect.

  • @belial420 Let him show us respect by not blaming his spelling mistakes on his missing hand and his Vietnam service. Do you think he can live a fulfilling life otherwise?

  • @themoshmenace why does he need to show YOU or any of US respect...did we loose hand during war? did we do something to deserve it? no...but let me guess...we just sit here, acting mean and important (obviously more important, than this poor person) and criticize him for SMALL things we could have just not noticed...

  • @themoshmenace i see its true what others say about american nation...you're uneducated, selfish, ignorant and mean nation, which has no past no future, no culture and morality...enough said... learn to respect other people and accept them the way they actually are! and get over someone misspellings...

  • @belial420 He's the one who tried to blame his poor education on his missing hand. Now that's one helluva excuse. I commend him for serving his country gallantly and unselfishly. But I don't accept his degrading excuse. He's better than that.

  • @themoshmenace Never take a person's dignity; it’s worth everything to them & nothing to you.

  • @689321546 Thank you for the great sacrifices you have make for our freedom!

  • @bigrosssmith

Not everyone in the world speaks English as a first language...........instead of dwelling on the negative you should try to be positive.........

  • Oh wow. They did this song? Okay, this group is on my list (and they are at the top of my list).

  • one of my favorite song when during my teen years up to present. just love it.

  • I still love this song. APP is still quantum in this musician's eyes. Thanks, DreamOnAerosmith for your beautiful video to accompany this amazing, classic, timeless song. Oh yeah! I'm a fan! -dp

  • One of my very favourite songs of all pop-dom. Absolutely love this and always have. Brilliant, APP! I loved that group too.

  • There is an official video for this song.

  • I have to disagree with some people here. APP was huge in the late 70s and early 80s in Europe. So, no, this awesome band was not underrated. When they came out they were embraced (including myself who was 19 at the time) . Their sound, but especially their lyrics attracted many fans who are still devoted to them. Yes, sadly they are not well known here in the USA...it's a pity, but I play their music, in my car and at home. It brings back so many memories! Thanks for posting.

  • They didn't have too many Top 40 hits in the US, only "Eye in the Sky" made the Top 10 peaking at #3 on the Billboard charts in the Fall of 1982, I wish they were better known in the States

  • Can't decide if i like this or "games people play" better. They both are amazing tunes and Alan Parsons Projects is a phenomenal and underrated band. Thank you for posting

  • what a

    video!!

  • I remember seeing the video to this song when it came out on VH1 back in the mid 1980s and then went over 10 years without hearing this song, I remember our Satellite Feed playing this song at my job back in the early 2000s

  • si ricorda alla persone che questo erà il 1984 e non il 2009 ...25anni fà .. Sentirlo non vuol dire ASCOLTARLO... Italia by Milano ...

  • lol !

  • Great sound cool visuals. Thanks for posting!

  • Wonderful, great music, thanks!

  • Definitely a song you rarely hear anymore, great song by a great underrated band

  • alan parsons project arent underrated

  • To me they are cause not many people I know talk about them and you barely hear their songs on the radio, I'm in my late 20s and not many people my age have heard of them

  • Heh.. I was raised on AP

  • Yes i agree 100% these guys were underrated but this song still rocks long live the 80s

  • Just an incredible song!

  • Allen doing an ode to the great Phil Spector. Awesome!

  • So will YOU turn your back forever on what you mean to me?

  • A fantastic track by a really great band. The saxophone is brilliant. Some stuff from the eighties is ok, this is an example, the rest unfortunately.....CRAP.

  • sweet melodies of my childhood,

  • i haven't heard this song in almost 11 years and it really good to hear it again after this time.

  • Sounds like ELO's 'the way life's meant to be' I love it.

  • Yes it is right¡¡¡ I PREFER ELO,

  • 80's but sound's very 70's!?

  • Wanna Dance?

  • magic ?

  • i really loved hearing this again, kinda takes me back lol

  • Alan Parsons served tea to Paul McCartney and John Lennon at Abby road studios. He was an assistant engineer for the beatles and then a full-blown engineer with Paul McCartney on McCartney, Wings Wild Life and Red Rose Speedway.George Harrison's All Things Must Pass album both as an assistant and as a mix engineer. The Hollies and then Pink Floyd, the British band Pilot(Magic),Alan made three albums with Al Stewart, spawning the hit singles Year Of The Cat and Time Passages.

  • Funny you mention Floyd,I think Alan Parsons produced Dark Side of the Moon

  • He engineered it.

  • This is one of my favorite and most memorable songs of the 1980's.

I just recently learned that Alan Parsons also wrote and produced Al Stewart's

    "Time Passages" from 1978.

I was never a HUGE Alan Parsons fan,

but I may now go and revisit that...

  • excelente tema de este grande!!!

    aguante Alan Parsons Project!!!!

  • Alan Parsons, they were one of the better bands in the 70's and 80's.

  • Desde crinça curto o som do Alan....tenho 28 anos e nunca deixo de curtir esse som!!!

  • Their sound is halfway between Floyd and the Moody Blues. Beautiful melodies and harmonies.

  • Look up"time"by Alan Parsons Project, that sounds just like Floyd, production and all.Who ripping of whom?

  • Alan Parsons had a big hand in Floyd's "Time song". I think he thought there was more than one way to do it again. Both Pink Floyd and Alan Parsons are excellent bands. Glad to hear both sides of the title TIME.

  • word up bil

  • Austin Powers is the dorky part. The movie is funny like you said but something from another band would fit the movie better. Like the end theme song to Benny Hill. Just kidding ya. Listen to this song closer it will grow on you.

  • Very nice, trippy.I love the lyrics to this song very much. The graphics you ceated are very thippy.

  • sim, muito linda musica..

  • muito linda esta musica, maravilhosa
