I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old PRV Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps EFi and tank clean and rustfree

Fiat 130 and Peugeot 604 are as fast, Opel Diplomat 2800 E is not faster---BMW 2800 is nor much faster...Mercedes 280SE also not much fater--BMW E3 3,0 Si Bavaria is faster.
i have a 504 v6 auto and all i want is a 504coupe what u do is so they go harder you put the volvo V6 in and they are a bigger motor 2850cc compered to 2664cc cheers Ben
How beautiful cars they are! I admire the Peugeot 604 for its contemporary Pininfarina design, silky ride, and toughness of her V6 engine. But her fuel consumption is barely on average level in those era, and her engine muscle is somewhat mundane in the standard of those days.
She cruises very smoothly, but cruising speed is inferior to the likes of BMW 728i and Mercedes-Benz 280E; she's as fast as the Volvo 760GLE and the Toyota Crown 2.8i.
the 1975-1985 Peugeot 604 was assembled in
Sochaux, France
