A good adaptation for the stage I guess, but I was very disappointed overall. I had to watch it on my primary display while scrolling through the Wikipedia synopsis on my secondary display. With all bizarre encounters reduced to a little drama between actors (good ones) and only the cat of all the animals, the wonder of the story is lost. OK if the story is totally new to you but I disapprove.
Oh, that's what "anthropomorphic" is .. all the characters that were supposed to be animals are played by people, except, I think, for the Cheshire Cat, which doesn't grin. Very strange version.
peter cook as the mad hatter, and dudley moore as the dormouse in another version of alice in wonderland, peter sellers played the march hare in that too, i think spike milligan was in it also..
thi is my fav version. it is a rather darker side of the children's story. i think it captures the mood of the sixties and all the counter culture and drug use theme. the actress plays alice as an angst filled teen who hates her surrondings. she looks for adventure and marvels in the strange beings she encounters.
I saw the original transmission of this, I was six years old, and because I had recently read the book I was allowed to stay up to watch it. Watching it again after all that time it seems wierder than I remember, it isn´t really an adaption aimed at children. Thanks for making this available, it brought back memories!
@retartedplatypus98 who back of just in case you cant read but up at the top like it says it was filmed in 1966 they had strainers but the charter's dint have one so the charter's is the one with messed up hair
excellent acting... this version captures the mystery, emotions and craziness perfectly! i enjoyed this film very much. The cinematography and camera shots are beautiful and very artistic, it can rival any modern big-budget film.
@r0zesefid It's a reference to the Victorian Empire that took over India, and also because this was filmed during the 60s, there was a lot of Indian music or at least instruments used in popular bands like the Beatles. Combined with all the drugs taken in the 60s, and the psychedelic effects a lot of Victorian painkillers had that may have influenced Carroll to write this.
why is it that youtube has only got OLD movies on it???when i clicked this,i thought it would be the 2011/2012 version O.o XD DX
