  • This test is kind of a rip off to the Vue, because this is the only SUV I've seen that they offset it. The Ford Escape for example, it hit the trailer hitch and bounced right off.

  • @kyle51895 its because saturn put foam in the middle of the bumper so that the vue would pass

  • '

how come the automaker company never put 2 stronger metals bumpers with 2 shocks on the chassic frame like before 1970 to 1990

  • @bestamerica it cost more money than cheap plastics

  • DaveTube24,

    '

    i dont think so,,,

    it is not true

  • @bestamerica well in the news report it said it

  • DaveTube24,

    '

    then news report is wrong,,,

strong metal bumper is less problem, less repair, less worn out, less cost and keep longer,,,

form / plastic bumper is more problem, more repair, more weak, more worn out, more costly and keep shorter,,,

auto makers are so dirty fifshly nasty businesses

  • @bestamerica oops I wrote the wrong thing.:o

Anyways i Mean it is cheaper and lighter to make and use a cheap plastic bumper

  • Honestly, do you really need slow motion for 5 MPH?

  • heheh...crAAACK!

  • If its over $1000.... Do you think the IIHS added the insurance surcharge to the total along with the damage? Just wondering...

  • why do they price the damage so high? I don't see a damn thing wrong with the car, but for a turn signal damage!

  • theres no damage

  • Wow $1,310 damage??? Oh I forgot, it's a GM. You'd expect that from them.

  • @diegotaudt that's actually not that much money for a car to get fixed. look at the honda crv for example, it came out with 5 grand worth of damage for the same test

  • wow stupid, a mercedes was $3000 damage from the same test. -_-

  • Yes i know that. But if they are not going to subject all vehicles to the same type of collision, then I don't care to see their results. If they choose to have the Saturn Vue be hit off center then show that for the other vehicles too. Because I think it you hit other SUV's of center the damage would be great as well.

  • Lol so you think everytime you back into something its going to be perfectly straight?

  • why cant they just put the reinforcement bar along the whole back bumper and in the front

  • its because of the spaceframe design that saturn could use polymers in their panels. its sad they stopped their design, it was quite good at weight saving, my 1999 SL1 gets 45 highways, you never see those kinda number today, unless you get a hybrid.

  • The powers of cheap plastic.

  • Its nice the back window doesn't explode out like every other small SUV I have seen

  • cause some suvs have spare tires on back

  • Precisely. I almost consider that a design flaw. They dont put enough structural renforcement behind it. Its kinda sad these days.

  • what if will resist like this in 60mph in the future, that will be awesone

  • Are you necessary? i didn't think so

  • for u, dumbass, it would take half of u to crash at 5 mph

  • its good that saturns are "100 percent" plastic because we were hit by one at like 50+ mph there car totaled and we were driving a Chevy SUV so like less than 5000 in damage

  • EXACTLY my point, thank you

  • shut up cause who da fuck would be so blind to crash into a pole, not 1 idiot, not even 2 idiots, but 2 1/2 idiots, and if u think thats not true, ur a retard

  • you need to hush your ignorant ass up!

  • and u need to go to hell

  • Sorry...don't believe, Its YOUR god, YOUR rules, YOU go to hell...haha...quit copin a tude...

  • HA HA HA very funny fonzie

  • Oh wow, working 5mph bumpers, congrats Saturn on following this federal standard for all cars sold in USA.

  • NO! REALLY? it takes 2 1/2 idiots to crash at 5mph

  • what do you expect it just like a pop bottle plastic and fiber glass has the same exact effect it will just bounce off

  • well the test for the saturn was better than the landrover

  • Saturn sucks and you all know it. No need to justify any redeeming qualities about it. Terrible vehicle in every respect.

  • true saturn sucks and thats why its so cheap

  • Anyone who crashes their car at 5mph deserves to pay for it. Besides, over $1000? whatever, i could fix it for $100

  • My parents are considering a smaller SUV then their BIG F-150 long bed. So far the best values I found for them (and maybe even me) are the VUE and the Hyundai Santa Fe.

  • no no hunny not hyundai ther crap and specially not saturn go with toyota or honda maybe a rav4 or anice crv?

  • rav4 and crvs suck look at their test, the window shatters! but hyundais suck

  • i LOVE my 2005 saturn vue

    i HATE the mileage, 2.2L 4-cyl, 5spd man

  • All it did was bend back. do real damage.

  • ummmm, the bumper u retard

  • my parents got a 2003 vue. i backed into a mail box a couple of times and sideswiped a guard rail at 35 mph. it dont do no 1500 bucks worth of damage. trust me. the only shit my parents noticed was the guard rail. its all overpriced.

  • then ur BLIND

  • I pick up my 2004 Vue 5spd in 2 days, I cant wait!

  • I saw no damage. HOW did you come up with over a $1000 in damage in each test?

  • vidio #1. As you you can see the rear bumber came off a bit and craked. and eventhogh it looks like it bounced back, all cars have a aluminum crumple zone in the rear of the car. vid #2 the front part of the hood broke of the body.

  • @BigBirdy100 Its not so much the damage of the bumper, but what is damaged inside the bumper and around the bumper.

  • @BigBirdy100 it tore the bumper of the plastic clips and plastic being plasic just went back to where it was

  • @BigBirdy100 i saw damage it was to the bumper it stuck out after being hit, but not worth 1000 dollars to fix.

  • @BigBirdy100 there can be damage under neath the bumper and such.

  • @BigBirdy100 All the bumper mounts busted off and Im sure it dented the hatch slightly. replacing the bumper and fixing the hatch, then painting them. About that much worth of damage.

  • @BigBirdy100 pole damage haha!

  • @BigBirdy100 There is often no visable damage but there is damage inside like the exaust pipe, the shock absorbers (which in this case is very bad) and other internal damage

  • @BigBirdy100 because the iihs replace all the scratches parts for new parts.

  • @BigBirdy100 underneith is evil...

  • @BigBirdy100 the inside

  • plastic car Loll

  • saturns r like 100% plastic

  • Body panels were, not anymore.

  • yup

  • i want a vue sooo bad! =]

  • then ur either really poor or really retarded

  • Is Saturn a popular Carbrand in the US?

Im from Germany...and have never heard about...

or is it like INFINITI from NISSAN?

  • Saturn used to be a company that sold very cheap cars, that competed with Toyota and honda. Now since GM owns both Saturn and Opel they share a lot of cars, and it will be expanded in the next 5 years. The 2008 Saturn vue is basicly a opel antara

  • I love my saturn vue 2004

  • Everything pops back into place!

    That's why I got a VUE!
