As i know many people who have taken this drug with nothing more than positive results. And honestly i think its quite disgusting that you would come out and comment on everyones videos trying to scare them into not taking it. I had been using it for 3 months and found that it really impacted my cardiac endurance, i.e. I would nearly pass out after a physical workout. And it didn't really help my hair all that much anyway. After I stopped using it, I noticed that I didn't get dizzy anymore after running and I went back to normal... overall I am unsatisfied with the product.

Hey man. I went through the same freakout around that age. Lucky for me (and for you), its completely natural; almost all men's hairlines recede about 1/2" to 1" from age 16-20. I'm now 23 and i haven't lost any more hair since I was 18. Chances are the same will happen for you.
im the same and and in a similar positon, noticing very early signs of a receding hairline (its daunting isn't it! luckly hair replacement systems or 'wigs' are extremely effective, cheap and indiscernable from real hair these days!). i'm going to look into Propecia but make sure you start taking it ASAP because it does better at sustaining current hair than regrowing it! Also SLEEP LOTS, drink LOTS of water, take multivitamins, and look up how to do scalp massages. good luck!

Minoxidil is the thing you should search for, as that is the active ingredient in Rogaine. From what I understand Rogaine is a just a company name and they charge more than the generic brand.

A couple of years ago, I was losing quite a bit of hair and lost a bit at the front. So I tried two things. I stopped washing my hair (now I just wet it in the shower), as I suspect the harsh chemicals in hair products could be part of the problem and I made sure I had protein for lunch and dinner every day. I am a vegetarian and suspect that I wasn't getting enough protein.
I am about to try Minoxidil to see if I can grow some of the front part of my hair that I lost back.
Sleg,,that would be extremely rare. I am 50 and rogaine worked great on my crown you would never know I have even thinned at any time,,but luckily I never receeded the men in our family only lose the crown hair, and every thing around it remains thick,,, but that can look weird.I have been using it since 1996
I've got a bit of thinning around the crown as well, so I'll apply it in both places and see what happens. If it doesn't work at the front I'll have to get used to it. :)

@concerned11 I agree with you 100%, tried propecia for a year and i have never been the same. Honestly I think propecia can CAUSE prostate cancer and many other problems with the prostate. I've been off the drug for about a year and a half and still suffer with the damn side effects wondering if they will ever go away. Zinc and DHEA supplements have helped a lot but i doubt ill ever recover from that drug 100%.

If you find yourself losing hair, it's safer to just stick with applying minoxidil (Rogain foam is most commonly used). Propecia/finasteride will definitely mess with your endocrine system and cause undesired effects related to testosterone and libido. No reason to risk your health for your hair.

Just wanted to give a heads up to people who start using this at a young age, It works, it will stop your hair from receding and it might cause some hair to grow back as long as you still have some hair on those places.
Just start using this as soon as you notice you are losing your hair. The faster you use it the more effect it has. I'm a 22 year old man and i've been using minoxidil 2% once a day before I go to bed and even that % works wonders on me, with no side effects!

I have to warn you though I pretty much still have most of my hair, I just noticed the first signs of going bald and my dermatologist pretty much told me that if I start using minoxidil at this stage of balding it works wonders. I have no idea about propecia.

@concerned11 As may be the case IN SOME case. But you have to take into count how healthy the people were before. As i know many people who have taken this drug with nothing more than positive results. And honestly i think its quite disgusting that you would come out and comment on everyones videos trying to scare them into not taking it. I and was suggested propecia 1mg. I heard about the side effects such as erectile dysfunction, libido and sex drive loss and breast enlargement. I was like what?? I do not want to become a woman!! lol. did you experience any of those unwanted side effects??

I have noticed a change, the vellus hairs on my temples are beginning to thicken, I can safely say it works to some degree and anticipate more improvement & thickening over the next few weeks and months. I had been using it for 3 months and found that it really impacted my cardiac endurance, i.e. I would nearly pass out after a physical workout. And it didn't really help my hair all that much anyway. After I stopped using it, I noticed that I didn't get dizzy anymore after running and I went back to normal... overall I am unsatisfied with the product.

@CHOICEhiphop I think in my case I just might have to wait for a hair transplant or wait a bit longer for the hair regeneration technologies to come out from research firms such as Alderans... at any rate right now I am 20 years old and am just a Norwood 2, the only thing I exhibit is significant temporal recession but I am not bald by any means and still have a youthful mane and, to be perfectly honest, it hasn't gotten any worse and I will be satisfied if it stays this way.

guys, the stuff works. it truly does I am not lying. it wont work on everybody, but don't be quick to piss on the product simply because it didn't work for you, you were probably bald for too long, you have to start the treatments within a few years of first thinning out or else you lessen the chances of anything happening. worked a charm for me

It depends on your age , your general health and your diet.
I believe i got great results because
A. i started using it at the early stages
B. I eat very well
C. I do about 3 cardio sessions per week with about 4 weight sessions.
and i'm only 23...
My scalp didnt get too much flaking. Do you use an anti dandruff shampoo?

Hey man. I went through the same freakout around that age. Lucky for me (and for you), its completely natural; almost all men's hairlines recede about 1/2" to 1" from age 16-20. I'm now 23 and i haven't lost any more hair since I was 18. Chances are the same will happen for you.

im the same and and in a similar positon, noticing very early signs of a receding hairline (its daunting isn't it! luckly hair replacement systems or 'wigs' are extremely effective, cheap and indiscernable from real hair these days!). i'm going to look into Propecia but make sure you start taking it ASAP because it does better at sustaining current hair than regrowing it! Also SLEEP LOTS, drink LOTS of water, take multivitamins, and look up how to do scalp massages. good luck!

Minoxidil is the thing you should search for, as that is the active ingredient in Rogaine. From what I understand Rogaine is a just a company name and they charge more than the generic brand.

play, Rogaine worked amazingly on my crown , but that is the only palce that was thinning,,now you can not see where it was thinning,,as for staying in shape I am a 49 yr old firefighter and have always worked out since HS,,,I am 6 feet tall with a 32 waist line,,the same waist line I had in college.

A couple of years ago, I was losing quite a bit of hair and lost a bit at the front. So I tried two things. I stopped washing my hair (now I just wet it in the shower), as I suspect the harsh chemicals in hair products could be part of the problem and I made sure I had protein for lunch and dinner every day. I am a vegetarian and suspect that I wasn't getting enough protein.
I am about to try Minoxidil to see if I can grow some of the front part of my hair that I lost back.
