  • This is amazing, but maybe you should have all had the same ornamentation, because at certain points it just kind of sounds jumbled with all the different ornamantation people are doing. Still, great work non the less :)

    hands down, sincere congratulations!

  • ehi wow!!!! this is cool!!!!! :)

  • Sooooo Cool!!!

  • Very nice. I can somewhat play this song on the violin.

  • woohoo, thats very great :)

  • You partly inspired this, so thank you!

  • I feel I should have recorded the fiddle part as well now. I thought there'd be heaps of other fiddlers taking part.

  • They're rare, at least much rarer than whistlers. Would you join us on this next one, once your holidays start?

  • hmm maybe I should join in for the next one, I'm sure a flute needs to be in there somewhere. XD

  • Irish, or concert?

  • Both I guess

  • please do. I hope you can.

  • I will not hesitate. Just give me a weeks time, would you like bodhran as well?

  • Yes please. I was playing around with it myself, but I've decided to do zills.

Stuff I found while I was experimenting: that open sound when the hand is not pressed against the inside of the skin sounds really good for this tune....also using the hand instead of the beater, like the eastern drum styles.

  • zills? what's that?

  • Yeah I think I will, and I get an "extra" day of practise because were I am, I'm a day ahead. =P

  • Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I luv it

  • @GlobalSeisun

No, you are all right. It is the butterfly. look at all the other versions.....

    Good job!!!

  • @GlobalSeisun neah it does sound like the butterfly :P

  • @Dakoo89 the start isnt the butterfly but the rest is

  • @pinobeans LOL learn your irish music. Its butterfly

  • The Bodhraner doesn't know how to play a slipjig. X^P

  • He's new at it...his main instrument is the fiddle.

  • that's fantastic!!!

  • My niece played it for us on her Blackberry around the campfire way up there in the woods and it even sounded great on those tiny little speakers! You did an amazing job putting this all together and I'm so glad I got to join in.

    Cheers,

    Chris

  • Amazing job, you guys..... just amazing!

  • All I can say is Wow! Bean chirps his approval to everyone at the end to everyone for a job well done. You made me play the tune faster than I have ever attempted it and I am glad there was such a good turn out of exceptional players to mask my flubs. Fantastic editing and sound work from 3rdDerivative. I am blown away at the style, visual pacing and sound mix. You elevated us all and now Bean wishes he were a butterfly. Well maybe not. Parrotlets live longer.

  • we must write a tune for him. "The Parrotlet" or "Bean's Fancy"...

  • Yes! Bean's Jig or Polka or something along that line. Great idea!

  • Brilliant. Nice and sinister with the starting logo and chirpy end with the bird. Pleasing to both ear and eye. Glad to be involved! 6/5

  • mawkish

  • Yeah, I know it's a 'mawk' session, but for some of us, it's the only chance we get to play with others.

  • Beautiful ... wow! Congratulations everyone but particularly the editor. You did a lovely lovely job.

  • haha cool, i just realized the sequenced volume change ^^ very cool, maybe, next time, we could have an even more complex arrangement.. with some people starting on different sections, solos, harmonies, call-response.. perhaps? haha, getting carried away with the ideas

  • It will take more planning, and the right song...but yes, I've had those ideas too :)

  • I just realized that you amplified the instruments one by one, so you can hear the individual playing better. Goes from top left and end in the lower right side. Clever indeed : )

  • This must have been a lot of work editing wise. Congratulations with the first ever online recorded session on youtube. Proud to be a part of it. So, whats the next tune?

Love the ending : ) Too bad it was bird and not a giant butterfly :P

  • wow!! amazing job! glad to have been a part of this ^^
